Abstract: Given description discloses a support structure for the floor board of the scooter in order to increase its load taking capacity. One side of this support structure is fixed with the vehicle frame and other end is fixed with the rear end of the floor board. Said support structure is mounted in such a way that it balances out the pressure or force coming on the rear part of the floor board. To be accompanied by Figure 1
FIELD OF INVENTION
[0001] The present invention generally relates to floor board of scooter type vehicle and more particularly to an extended floor board for the scooter type vehicle.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] Generally, in scooter type vehicles, floor board serves a foot rest for the driver and a foot peg is provided as foot rest for pillion rider. In some cases floor board is extended rearwards along the side panels of the scooter and acts as foot rest for the pillion rider.
[0003] In such cases pillion rider gets on the vehicle by foot peg support and rests foot on the floor boar extension. Due to these rearwards extensions, surface area of the floor board outside the frame increases and hence overall strength of the floor board decreases that affects the load carrying capacity of the same.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] Main objective of present invention is to provide a support structure for the floor board of the scooter in order to increase its load taking capacity. One side of this support structure is fixed with the vehicle frame and other end is fixed with the rear end of the floor board. Mounting of this support structure is such that it balances out the pressure or force coming on the rear part of the floor board.
[0005] Summary provided above explains the basic features of the invention and does not limit the scope of the invention. Additional detailed information related to the enablement of the invention will be provided in the detailed description and accompanying claims. Scope of the invention shall be based on the claims provided.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
[0006] The present invention will become more fully understood from the detailed description given herein below and the accompanying drawing(s). Provided drawings are incorporated in and constitute embodiments of the invention and illustrates several aspects of the invention and together with a description of the embodiments serve to explain the principles of the invention. Drawings given below are provided to support the description of the invention and are not limiting the scope of the present invention. A brief description of the drawing is as follows:
Figure 1 shows an isometric view to depict the mounting arrangement of embodiments of the invention.
Figure 2 is a side view of the assembled embodiments of the invention depicting essential mounting locations for claimed subject matter.
Figure 3, Figure 4 and Figure 5 explains the mounting arrangement of the essential embodiments of claimed subject matter.
Figure 6 shows an exploded view of the embodiments related to the claimed subject matter in order to explain enabling arrangement for the same.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0007] The embodiments disclosed below are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed in the following detailed description. Rather, the embodiments are chosen and described so that best enabling arrangements of the invention can be explained through all possible embodiments and examples of it. The invention may have application to all kind of two wheeled vehicles.
[0008] Figure 1 to Figure 2 shows different embodiments and enabling arrangement for the claimed support structure for floor board of the scooter type vehicle. As shown a scooter 100 is shown having a frame structure. This frame defines a front frame member 103 and a rear frame member 104 connected by a centre frame member 105. Rear frame member 104 and centre frame member 105 has left and right parts. Left and right side part of the rear member 104 are connected through a bridge member 106.
[0009] A storage box 108 is mounted in the proximity of said bridge member 106 through storage box front mounting 113 and storage box rear mounting 115. For best suitable mounting, bridge member 106 and storage box 108 mountings 113, 115 are integrated to form a single unit.
[0010] Further as shown, a floor board is 114 mounted over the centre frame number 105 such that it is extended rearwards along the sides of the side frame member 104. Said floor board 114 has a plane surface 109 extended rearward to form two parallel extensions 112 on its rear end. The plane surface 109 is rider foot rest and the parallel extensions 112 are pillion foot rest.
[0011] A supporting structure 111 is mounted below the floor board 114 such that one end of said support structure 111 is fixed with the bridge member 106 and other end is secured below the floor board 114.
[0012] Further, a primary foot support 110 is mounted on the rear frame member 104 thorough mounting locations 110a, 110b. Said primary foot support 116 is fixed with the supporting structure 111 through a primary plate 116. Said the primary plate 116 is secured under the floor board 114.
[0013] Further, referring to Figures 3, Figure 4, Figure 5 and Figure 6 detailed mounting aspects of embodiments of the claimed invention are explained. Said support structure 111 at one end Ilia is secured to the front mounting 113 of the storage box 108.
[0014] Mentioned primary plate 116 is secured with the rear are extension of the floor board 114 and acts as a mounting base for the primary foot support 110 and the support structure 111.
[0015] As mentioned earlier, primary foot support 110 is fixed with the primary plate 116 through minimum one mounting point 110c and also the support structure is fixed with said primary plate at minimum one location 111c.
[0016] Common mounting location i.e. the primary plate 116 for the primary foot support 110 and support structure 111 ensures reduction in mounting locations and increase in base strength at the mounting location.
[0017] This addition and mounting arrangement of the support structure under the floor board extensions helps in balancing out the pressure or force coming on the rear part of the floor board thus it improves strength and durability of the same.
[0018] Even during the frame modification for the vehicle requirement, only reinforcement bracket size is to be changed and foot peg and support unit can be used with same parameters that saves modification cost for the vehicle. This support structure is such that it balances out the pressure or force coming on the rear part of the floor board.
