Abstract: FLUSH HANDLE OPEN BY CABLE MECHANISM FOR CAR DOORS A flush door handle assembly 100 is disclosed. In accordance with the disclosure, a cable drum 2.2 is mounted within a drive unit 2, and is coupled to a pulley 1.11 via an upper cable 2.3 and lower cable 2.4. Further, the rotational motion from the cable drum 2.2 is transferred to a pulley 1.11 via the upper cable 2.3 and lower cable 2.4. The rotational motion received by the pulley 1.11 is transferred as sliding motion to a slider 1.10 connected to the pulley 1.11. [To be published with Figure 3]

Description:TECHNICAL FIELD
[001] The present disclosure relates to a vehicle door handle, more particularly relates to the electronic flush door handle for a vehicle cable of opening the door using wire/cable to open the vehicle door.

BACKGROUND
[002] In accordance with prior art, a handle assembly for a vehicle door and a method of operating the handle assembly are disclosed. The door handle assembly may include a pivot bracket mounted in the vehicle door. A handle arm pivotally mounted to the pivot bracket, a handle alignable flush with a door handle cutout. Further a motor assembly may operatively engage with the handle arm to selectively cause pivoting of the handle arm relative to the pivot bracket. The door handle assembly may also include a handle depression limit switch, a handle flush button, or a handle extension limit switch in communication with a control module that controls the motor.
[003] However, the drawback of the above prior art is that the flush handles are operated electronically by push mechanism using push rod attached to motor. Further flush assembly has integrated drive unit thereby restricting the positioning of the motor.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[004] The principal object of the present disclosure is to achieve a smaller package size for handle assembly.
[005] Another object of the present disclosure is to have a separate drive unit enabling flexible motor position in the door panel.
[006] Yet another object of the present disclosure is to disclose a handle electronically operated by cable so to handle operation smoothly.
[007] Still another object of the present disclosure is to provide better acoustic results in the handle electronically operated by cable as compared to the push rod in the drive unit.

SUMMARY

[008] In an implementation of the present disclosure, a flush door handle assembly 100 is disclosed. The flush door handle assembly 100 comprises a handle assembly 1. The handle assembly 1 further comprises a bracket 1.4, and a coupler 1.9 mounted within the bracket 1.4. Further, a slider 1.10 is connected with the coupler 1.9. The handle assembly 1 further comprises a pulley 1.11, connected with a coupler 1.9, wherein the pulley 1.11 is mounted within the bracket 1.4. The flush door handle assembly 100 further comprises a drive unit 2. The drive unit 2 is mechanically couped to the handle assembly 1.
[009] Further, in accordance with the implementation, a cable drum 2.2 is mounted within the drive unit 2, and is coupled to the pulley 1.11 via an upper cable 2.3 and lower cable 2.4. Further, the rotational motion from the cable drum 2.2 is transferred to the pulley 1.11 via the upper cable 2.3 and lower cable 2.4. The rotational motion received by the pulley 1.11 is transferred as sliding motion to the slider 1.10 connected to the pulley 1.11.

[0014] Some embodiments of the present disclosure, illustrating all its features, will now be discussed in detail. It must also be noted that as used herein and in the appended claims, the singular forms "a", "an" and "the" include plural references unless the context clearly dictates otherwise. Although any systems and methods similar or equivalent to those described herein can be used in the practice or testing of embodiments of the present disclosure, the exemplary, system discloses a door handle assembly having a door handle assembly and a drive unit to enable handle pop out for operations.

[0015] Referring to Figure 1, illustrates an exemplary embodiment of a flush door handle assembly 100 in accordance with the present disclosure. The flush door handle assembly 100 may comprise a door handle 1. The door handle may be mounted on a vehicle door. The door handle 1 may further comprise a drive unit 2.
[0016] Referring to Figure 2 illustrates a sectional view of a flush door handle assembly 100 in accordance with the present disclosure. The flush door handle assembly 100 comprises a handle assembly 1 and drive unit 2. The handle assembly 1, further comprises a handle cover 1.1. The handle cover 1.1, may be accessed by the user. The handle cover 1.1, may be placed in a handle body grip 1.2. Further a sealing or gasket 1.3, may be provided between the handle cover 1.1 and the handle body grip 1.2. Further sealing 1.2, may be positioned in a bracket 1.4.
[0017] The flush door handle assembly 100 may further comprise a coupler 1.9. The coupler 1.9 may be coupled with the handle cover 1.1. The coupled 1.9 may be coupled using a pin 1.8 with the handle cover 1.1. The coupled 1.9 may be further coupled to a slider 1.10 using the pin 1.8. The flush door handle assembly 100 may further comprise a pulley 1.11 mounted within a pulley bracket 1.12 and further the pulley 1.11 including the pulley bracket 1.12 may be mounted within the bracket 1.4. Further the pulley 1.11 along may be rivetted to the pulley bracket 1.12 using a pulley rivet 1.13.
[0018] The handle assembly 1, may further comprises a motor mounting bracket 1.14 connected to the bracket 1.4 and the cover 1.16. The cover 1.16 may be further configured close or cover the bracket 1.4 from a side.
[0019] Referring to Figure 3 illustrates an exploded view of a flush door handle assembly 100 in accordance with the present disclosure. The flush door handle assembly 100 comprises a handle assembly 1 and drive unit 2. Furter in accordance with the exemplary embodiment the handle assembly 1 may further comprise a handle cover 1.1. The handle cover 1.1 may be mounted or placed in a handle body grip 1.2. Combination of the handle cover 1.1 and the handle body grip 1.2 enable the user to open the door. The handle cover 1.1 and the handle body grip 1.2 may be configured to pop out to enable opening of the door. The handle cover 1.1 and the handle body grip 1.2 may be further enclosed in a sealing/gasket 1.3.
[0020] In accordance with the exemplary embodiment the handle cover 1.1, the handle body grip 1.2, and the sealing/gasket 1.3 may be mounted within a bracket 1.4. The sealing/gasket 1.3 provides sealing between the bracket 1.4, and the handle cover 1.2, the sealing enables stopping dust and other particles from entering into the handle assembly 1.
[0021] The bracket 1.4 is further configured to enable mounting of an outside lever 1.5. The outside lever 1.5 may be enclosed in a spring 1.7 and further mounted within an actuator 1.6 before being mounted within the bracket 1.4. Further the bracket 1.4 may be configured to hold at least one pin 1.7. The at least one pin 1.7 may be provided to hold a coupler 1.9 within the bracket 1.4. The coupler 1.9 may be further engaged with a slider 1.10. The slider 1.10 may be configured slide while engaging with the coupler 1.9.
[0022] Further the coupler 1.9 may be connected with a pulley 1.11. The pulley 1.11 may be mounted within a pulley bracket 1.12 and further the pulley 1.11 including the pulley bracket 1.12 may be mounted within the bracket 1.4. Further the pulley 1.11 may be rivetted to the pulley bracket 1.12 using a pulley rivet 1.13.
[0023] Further in accordance with the exemplary embodiment a motor bracket 1.14 may be mounted adjacent to pulley 1.11 such that the motor bracket 1.14 is mounted on the bracket 1.4 and the motor bracket 1.14 encloses the pulley 1.11.
[0024] The pulley 1.11 may be further coupled to a cable drum 2.2. The cable drum 2.2 may be mounted with the drive unit 2 and further is coupled to the pulley via an upper cable 2.3 and lower cable 2.4. The cable drum 2.2 may be configured to have rotational motion. The rotational motion from the cable drum 2.2 may be transferred to the pulley 1.11 via the upper cable 2.3 and lower cable 2.4 based on the direction of the rotation of the cable drum. The rotational motion received by the pulley 1.11 may further be transferred as sliding motion to the slider 1.10 connected to the pulley 1.11. Further the cable drum 2.2 may be enclosed in the cable drum housing 2.5.
[0025] Further in accordance with the exemplary embodiment the handle assembly 1 connected to the drive unit 2, is enclosed by a cover 1.16. The cover 1.16 is mounted on the bracket 1.4 as distal end or on a side opposite to the side having the handle body grip 1.2.
[0026] In accordance with the exemplary embodiment the flush door handle 100 comprising the handle assembly 1 is configured to operated mechanically to open the door. Further the drive unit 2 is configured to enable power operation of handle, i.e., to pop up handle for user to pull the handle and open it manually. Current is supplied to the drive unit 2, and the rotary motion of the motor is converted into linear movement of the slider. Further slider connected by wire / cable with motor operates the lever / actuator which is connected with handle body grip and thus enables the handle to pop up or pop out so that user can pull the handle and open the car door.

1. A flush door handle assembly 100 comprising:
a handle assembly 1, wherein the handle assembly 1 further comprises:
a bracket 1.4;
a coupler 1.9 mounted within the bracket 1.4;
a slider 1.10, wherein the slider 1.10 is connected with the coupler 1.9;
a pulley 1.11, connected with a coupler 1.9, wherein the pulley 1.11 is mounted within the bracket 1.4; and
a drive unit 2, wherein the drive unit 2 is mechanically couped to the handle assembly 1;
wherein a cable drum 2.2 is mounted within the drive unit 2, and is coupled to the pulley 1.11 via an upper cable 2.3 and lower cable 2.4;
wherein rotational motion from the cable drum 2.2 is transferred to the pulley 1.11 via the upper cable 2.3 and lower cable 2.4;
wherein the rotational motion received by the pulley 1.11 is transferred as sliding motion to the slider 1.10 connected to the pulley 1.11.

2. The flush door handle assembly 100 as claimed in claim 1, further comprises a handle cover 1.1, wherein the handle cover 1.1 is mounted or placed in a handle body grip 1.2.

3. The flush door handle assembly 100 as claimed in claim 1, further comprises a sealing/gasket 1.3, wherein the sealing/gasket 1.3 may be mounted within the bracket 1.4.

4. The flush door handle assembly 100 as claimed in claim 1, further comprises an outside lever 1.5, wherein the outside lever 1.5 is mounted within the bracket 1.4.

5. The flush door handle assembly 100 as claimed in claim 4, wherein the outside lever 1.5 is enclosed in a spring 1.7 and further mounted within an actuator 1.6.

6. The flush door handle assembly 100 as claimed in claim 5, wherein the actuator 1.6 is actuated by the slider 1.10 to pop-out the handle grip 1.2.

7. The flush door handle assembly 100 as claimed in claim 1, further comprises at least one pin 1.7, wherein the at least one pin 1.7 is provided to hold the coupler 1.9 within the bracket 1.4.

8. The flush door handle assembly 100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein the pulley 1.11 is mounted within a pulley bracket 1.12, wherein the pulley 1.11 is rivetted to the pulley bracket 1.12 using a pulley rivet 1.13.

9. The flush door handle assembly 100 as claimed in claim 1, further comprises a motor bracket 1.14 mounted adjacent to the pulley 1.11.

10. The flush door handle assembly 100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein the cable drum 2.2 is enclosed in the cable drum housing 2.5.
