Fly Ash Based Geo Polymer Concrete

Abstract: The main objective of this project is to utilize the industrial waste, in order to stabilize the red soil by adding ground granulated blast furnace slag and fly ash. To verify its suitability to be used as a construction material for road, embankment and structural fills. This project work aims to evaluate the effect of addition of blast furnace slag and fly ash in order to stabilize the red soil and lime for each mix. The Engineering properties of the red soil were studied by performing Atterberg limits, Specific gravity test, Proctor compaction test, Unconfined Compression test and California Bearing Ratio test. Red soil was mixed with varying percentage of blast furnace slag, fly ash and lime as percentage of dry weight of red soil. Based on results, the Unconfined Compression test value and California Bearing Ratio test value goes on increasing upto 10%GGBS,10%flyash and 5%lime thereafter the values decreases

Background of Invention
The major problem in the world is facing today is the environmental pollution. In the construction industry mainly the production of Portland cement will causes the emission of pollutants results in environmental pollution. We can reduce the pollution effect on environment by increasing the usage of industrial by products in our construction industry. Geo-polymer concrete is such a one and in the present in our construction industry.
Geo-polymer concrete is such a one and in the present study, to produce the geo-polymer concrete the Portland cement is fully replaced with F-type fly-ash and alkaline liquids are used for the binding of materials..
The alkaline liquids used in this study for the polymerization are the solution of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and sodium silicate (Na2Sio3). it's replace the water cement ratio in mix proportion Prior Art

Summary of the invention
This research work demonstrates from all the literature studies and various experimental procedure has been done_the geo-polymer is a eco-friendly type of concrete. The details of geo-polymer materials properties, mix design and the compression of the harden concrete properties such as compressive strength, split tensile strength, flexural strength of concrete of concrete with conventional concrete are studied. We are done all the tests and concluded that it successfully done and carried out the results only using F- type fly ash and replacing the cement in 100%. The geo- polymer concrete was good in performance when compare conventional concrete, the compression test was done on geo'-polymer concrete cubes, it increased the strength 18.20% over conventional concrete and tensile is increased by 11% over conventional concrete and also increased the flexural strength of the concrete by 12.54%. we conduct the durable test on both concretes using HCL and NAC1 then find out the durable value it is also good when compare conventional concrete. Then finally we are known something about the geo-polymer concrete i.e, geo-polymer concrete attain the strength quickly, it's only used in prefabricated structure not suite for onsite process.

Brief Description
The main aim of this project is to replace the cement content by using fly ash 100% in concrete. Increase the properties of fly ash based concrete by polymerization activity using geo-polymer solution(alkaline solution) . To study fly ash based geo-polymer concrete-Conventional concrete (100% cement).Fly ash based geo-polymer concrete (0% cement content. The hardening concrete with fly ash properties such as Compressive strength, Split-tensile strength and Flexural strength. After evaluating the mechanical properties for the various mix and it is compared with the conventional concrete. The materials used are Cement, Fly-Ash, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Silicate ,Fine Aggregate ,Coarse, Aggregate ,Hydrochloric Acid ,Sodium Chloride . The geo-polymer is a eco-friendly type of concrete.
