Foldable Crates

Abstract: The present invention provides foldable crates useful for packing and transportation of agricultural products such as but not limited to vegetables, dairy products, food, sea food, meat and poultry. These are foldable and have a protective layer inside such as foam. The foldability of the crates is useful \n reducing the space and consequently the transport expenditure thereby giving distinct economical advantage over the conventional crates, e foldable crates wherein photo sensitive material is used for coating to indicate that the crates are overloaded. The crates are impregnated or coated with piezo sensitive colour which indicates the overloading of the crates by change in colour.

Foldable crates
2. APPLICANT
a) Name RSG Institute of Research & Development Pvt. Ltd.
b) Nationality An Indian Company
c) Address Office no. 3 & 4,
Sangam Project, Phase I 46 Dr. Ambedkar Road, Pune 411001 (India)
3. PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
The following specification particularly describes the nature of invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.

Title:
Foldable crates
Field of invention:
The present invention relates to foidable crates. More particularly it relates to foidable crates useful for packing of agricultural products such as but not limited to vegetables, dairy products, food, sea food, meat and poultry. Still more particularly it relates to the foidable crates wherein photo sensitive material is used for coating to indicate that the crates are overloaded.
Background of invention: Food products and vegetables in particular need to be
transported from the farm end to end consumers and are packed generally in
cubical shaped crates. The existing crates are made of Polymers and often have varied thicknesses. The existing problem relates to transportation of empty crates. After unloading the vegetables at the retail or customer the crates are required to be transported back to the agricultural sites for reloading. The transportation of the crates back to site cause problems as these crates occupy more place in the vehicle.
Existing crates have sharp corners which are a necessity of the molding process and often tear the secondary package in which the produce is stored. Our crates eliminate the sharp corners by incorporating a layer of protection
The profile of the protection provided also imparts impact resistance to different vegetables by customization of surface hardness breathing rate adjusters, and firmness memory foam surfaces.
The main object of the present invention is to provide crates which are foidable.

Another object is to provide the crates which are provided with photo sensitive material coating which indicates the overloading of the crates.
Still another object is to provide to provide the internal foam for protection of the products as foldable crates are already in existence in the Market.
Brief description of the drawings
Fig, 1 describes the foldable crate with its constituents in unfolded state
Fig. 2 shows the crate In folded state
The foldable crates provides by the present invention are described hereinafter using a rectangular shape however the crates could be manufactured of any shapes or counter with necessary adaptations.
Detailed description of the drawings
Referring to Fig. 1 the foldable crates impregnated with or having coating of piezo sensitive colour for indication of overloading provided by the present invention comprises a rectangular base (7) of approximately 1/6 of the height of the crate, provided on the top of this base plurality of hinges (6), one arm of the said hinges fixed in the base (7) and fixed on the other hand of the hinge (6) an outer layers (5) with plurality of perforations (4), on the corners of the outer layers plurality of locking means (1) to lock the outer layers (5), the outer layers (5) provided with a foam cover (2) on the inner sides of the outer layers having congruent groves with the outer layer (5) and plurality of handles (3) on all the sides of the crate.

In an embodiment of the present invention, the outer layers (5) are made up of polymers impregnated with photo and piezo sensitive colour for indicating the overloading of the crates.
In still another embodiment the outer layers (5) change the colour depending upon the weight of the material inside.
In still another embodiment the outer layers (5) impregnated with photosensitive colour changes its colour when the crates are overloaded with material than predetermined weight.
Vegetable crushing is prevented by customized stacking height adjusters.
Impact resistance is provided to vegetables by energy absorbent foams.
Crate is foldable: hence transportation costs from the destination is
reduced by 60%.
The crates provided by the present invention have following advantages.
a. Vegetable crushing is prevented by customized stacking height adjusters.
b. Impact resistance is provided to vegetables by energy absorbent foams.
c. Crate is foldable: hence a transportation cost from the destination requires 60 %
cost reduction.
d. Photo sensitive materials are used on the crate so that when the load is
exceeded the color changes for the crate.
e.The foldable impact resistant crate saves space and changes color in case load is exceeded.

I claim:
1. The foldable crates impregnated with or having coating of piezo sensitive colour for indication of overloading, comprising a rectangular base (7) of approximately 1/6 of the height of the crate, provided on the top of this base plurality of hinges (6), one arm of the said hinges fixed in the base (7) and fixed on the other hand of the hinge (6) an outer layers (5) with plurality of perforations (4), on the corners of the outer layers plurality of locking means (1) to lock the outer layers (5), the outer layers (5) provided with a foam cover (2) having congruent groves with the outer layer (5)on the inner sides of the outer layers (5) and plurality of handles (3) on all the sides of the crate.
2. The foldable crates as claimed in claim (1) wherein the outer layers (5) are made up of polymers impregnated with photo and piezo sensitive colour for indicating the overloading of the crates.
3. The foldable crates as claimed in claim (T) wherein the outer layers (5) change the colour depending upon the weight of the material inside.
4. The foldable crates as claimed in claim (1) wherein outer layers (5) impregnated
. with photosensitive colour changes its colour when the crates are overloaded with
material than pre determined weight.
