Abstract: The present subject matter discloses a foldable gear shift lever for commercial vehicle comprising atleast one shaft; a hinge dowel; a safety lock; a returner spring; a returner spring cap; and a GSL knob. The said components are integrated to each other to provide foldable gear shift lever to provide desirable a cabin space for driver and/or fellow to take rest in said cabin.

3. PREAMBLE OF THE DESCRIPTION
The following specification describes this invention and the manner in which it is to be performed
[oo1] The present subject matter relates to a foldable gear shifting lever for commercial vehicles.
[002] In India, commercial vehicles, particularly heavy commercial vehicles manage and drive by two persons normally. When one person drive the vehicles, other person support him or take rest. However sometime it appears that both persons feel to take rest like no load conditions, a long traffic jam, heavy rain or cyclone or some adverse natural condition. Hence it apparent that the vehicle cabin has sufficient and desirable enough space for drivers (atleast 2 persons) and helper to take rest in the cabin.
[003] In conventional heavy vehicles, a big slipping space inside a cabin may reduce the pay load areas of the vehicle and impose high cost for purchasing & low FE during running.
[004] Here the major challenge is to construct about 2.3 meter sleeper chain designed to accommodate sleeping space for single person. Sometime less space may give strong dissatisfaction to driver, due to non-availability of sleeping space for 2nd driver and some drivers even refused to drive Pro6ooo vehicles.
[005] The major disadvantages to driver/co-driver/helper is positioning of conventional gear shift lever, which is non-foldable. The gear shift lever is extents in between and cover middle area, complete width at driver's seat location, hence can't be utilized for sleeping or resting purpose. Further gear shift lever can't be shifted at the time of rest.
[006] In case sleeper kit made, sleeping will not be comfortable, due to gear shift lever current position.
[007] Considering the above disadvantages, it apparent that there is an unmet need of space in the cabin of heavy commercial vehicles, wherein both drivers can take rest comfortably without disturbing the arrangements and functions of the apparatus including gear arrangement of the heavy commercial vehicles.
[008] To solve aforementioned and other problems, the one way is to provide a reasonable space in the cabin of the heavy commercial vehicle, which could have been costly and time consuming. Hence considering the above facts and figures, it has been realized that there is unmet need of solution by which there would sufficient space in
the cabin of the vehicle without any change in tooling's of cabin and compromising on the comfort level of the drivers and other stuffs.
[009] The present subject discloses a foldable gear shift lever having same or better specification as compared to existing gear shift system. The foldable gear shift of present subject matter comprises atelast one shaft, a hinge dowel, a safety lock, a returner spring, a returner spring cap and a GSL knob.
[ooxo] In one embodiment, the present subject provides a sufficient cabin
space for driver(s) to take rest without any changes in tooling's of the cabin of the vehicle resultant save of cost and time.
[0011] Figure 1 discloses the gear shifting lever system of present subject
matter. The gear shifting lever system comprising first main shaft, second main shaft, hinge dowel, safety lock, returner spring, returner spring cap and GSL knob. The first main shaft is the bottom or lowermost part of the gear shifting lever system configured to be engaged with hinge joint. It is meant for load wearing of foldable assembly system and support to link mechanism. The second main shaft is pivoted to first main shaft with the hinge joint, for that dowel pin is used to pivot. It is also for load wearing of foldable assembly system and support to link mechanism. The hinge dowel is a lock pin structure, play a substantial role to lead to hinge joint between first main shaft & second main shaft of gear shifting lever system. The safety lock play major role in conical locking system for folding & unfolding of GSL assembly. It is similar to a metallic sleeves which encloses the pivot joint and ensure the alignment of GSL shafts. At the time of folding of shaft, it will move upward and allow user to fold shafts. It is act as safety device of this assembly when vehicle is in running condition due to vibration GSL shafts will again fold, in Assembly GSL, the Joint is provided as a prefabricated, separate member. The seal except for the sleeve-shaped press limiters also includes a frame-like metal stiffer for reinforcement. Regarding the manufacturing costs and the tightness, this solution is satisfactory, but is not satisfactory regarding the noise decoupling. The returner spring is a safety parts of this assembly its will lead to all position's maintained. The returner spring cap is a cap for supporting & keeps holding to spring. The GSL Knob is for driver comfort and easy to Shaft movement.
[0012] In another embodiment, Figure 2 discloses an operation of foldable
gear shift lever comprising step of: In the G5L conventional design, its design for easy fold and unfolds as per space requirement in vehicles Cabin. During this process assembly shaft provided with safety lock its main safety parts of this assembly its will lead to fold & unfold position's maintained. During normal conditions, the assembly shaft with conical safety lock normal conditions easily shaft move as single unit as per requirement. In shaft folding process, the lever is very easy to fold shaft Assembly. Frist of all needs to lift conical safety lock up side, up to top by help of fingers & thumb to un-lock the Shafts joints. With lifted conical safety lock up side, up to the appropriate level, now needs to fold Shaft Assembly toward Vehicles Front downside manually(ensure it is fully folded. After fully down shaft Assembly then release the Safety lock for folded condition is maintained by locking, ensure this manually. (To be avoiding Unwanted Un-fold for Safety reason) In shaft un-folding Process, it is very easy to Un-Fold shaft Assembly. Frist of all, Again Needs to Lift Lock up side, up to the appropriate level with the Help of Fingers & Thumb to be un-lock Shaft joints. To be unfold Assembly Shaft with Lift Lock up side, up to top needs to UN fold Shaft Assembly toward Vehicles Front side up side. By Help Fingers & Thumb to be fully UN fold Shaft joints. As Assembly shaft Lift up side loose safety lock from fingers. As shaft will fully strata this joint will we self-lock by safety self-locking systems. Now ensure by Driver then check gear shifting operations. Then move vehicles safely. The joints cross sections is a straight condition of foldable lever shift system.
[00x3] To overcome the disadvantages of above existing system and
mechanism thereof and to cater the above requirement, there is an unmet need of a simple and effective interlock mechanism, which appears to be fool proofed, without any defects.

disclosure will become readily apparent to those skilled in the art from the following detailed description, wherein it is shown and described only various embodiments of the disclosure by way of illustration. Accordingly/the drawings and description are to be regarded as illustrative in nature and not as restrictive.

reading this specification that the present subject matter also provides foldable gear shift system and operation thereof and method of construction thereof. More specifically, the present subject matter discloses foldable gear shift system and operation thereof effectively and without departing from the spirit of the present subject matter. While the subject matter may be susceptible to various modifications and alternative forms, specific embodiments have been shown by way of example in the drawings and have been described herein. Alternate embodiments or modifications may be practiced without departing from the spirit of the present subject matter. The drawings shown are schematic drawings and may not be to the scale. While the drawings show some features of the subject matter, some features may be omitted. Alternatively, in some other cases some features may be emphasized while others are not. Further, the methods disclosed herein may be performed in manner and/or order in which the methods are explained. Alternatively, the methods may be performed in manner or order different than what is explained without departing from the spirit of the present subject matter. It should be understood that the subject matter is not intended to be limited to the particular forms disclosed. Rather, the subject matter is to cover all modifications, equivalents, and alternatives falling within the spirit and scope of the subject matter.
We claim:
1) A foldable gearshift lever for commercial vehicle comprising :
a) atleast one shaft;
b) a hinge dowel;
c) a safety lock;
d) a returner spring;
e) a returner spring cap; and
f) a GSL knob
wherein said components are integrated to each otherto provide foldable gearshift lever to provide desirable a cabin space for driver and/or fellow to take rest in said cabin.
2) The foldable gear shift lever for commercial vehicle as claimed in claim 1, wherein said shaft is configured to engage with hinge dowel.
3) The foldable gear shift lever for commercial vehicle as claimed in claim 1, wherein said hinge dowel used to pivot the load wearing of said lever and support link mechanism.
4) The foldable gear shift lever for commercial vehicle as claimed in claim 1, wherein safety pin act a lock pin to joint between first main shaft and second main shaft of foldable gear shift lever.
5) The foldable gear shift lever for commercial vehicle as claimed in claim 1, wherein returner spring assist in folding and de-folding of gearshift lever.
6) The foldable gearshift lever for commercial vehicle as claimed in claim 1, wherein returner spring cap prevent the 360 degree movement of gear shift lever.
