Foldable Solar Panel

Abstract: The present invention discloses a foldable solar panel device comprising: a plurality of solar module and a cloth. The solar module further comprises layers of: a matte polymer, a matte polymer, a plurality of EVA, a fabric strip, a plurality of solar cell, a fabric and a plurality of board. The solar module is attached on cloth creating plurality of rows (each row comprises plurality of solar module) and keeping space between each row to facilitate folding of the device. The solar cells can have both horizontal and vertical arrangement in solar module and assembled with merlin technology in the said solar module. The horizontal solar cell arrangement module and vertical solar cell arrangement module is attached alternately in a row. The foldable solar panel device is compact, lightweight and portable having different size and capacity. For example- the foldable solar panel device can have three rows with four solar module in each row.

1. A foldable solar panel device100, said device100 comprising;
a plurality of solar cell strings 101; wherein said solar cell strings 101 comprises layers of: a matte polymer208, a plurality of EVA202, 205 & 207, a fabric strip206, a plurality of solar cell 205, a fabric 203 and a plurality of board201;
and a cloth102;
wherein said solar module101 is attached on said cloth 102 creating plurality of rows and keeping small space 103 between each row to facilitate folding of said device 100;
Wherein each row comprises plurality of said solar cells 101.

2. The foldable solar panel device100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein said solar cells 205 can have both horizontal and vertical arrangement in said solar cell string 101.

3. The foldable solar panel device 100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein said horizontal solar cell 205 arrangement module and said vertical solar cell arrangement module is attached alternately in a row.

4. The foldable solar panel device100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein said solar cells 205 assembled with merlin technology in the said solar cell strings 101.

5. The foldable solar panel device 100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein said foldable solar panel device 100 can have different size and capacity.

6. The foldable solar panel device 100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein said foldable solar panel device 100can have three rows with four solar modules 101 in each row.

7. The foldable solar panel device 100 as claimed in claim 1, wherein said foldable solar panel device100 is compact, lightweight and portable.

, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention generally relates to a folding solar panel. The invention, particularly relates to a folding solar panel assembled with unique merlin technology solar cells and made up of c-Si solar cell laminated between light transmitting layer on the front side and cloth on the back side. With circuitry on the output it can be used for various voltage applications.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Our Foldable Solar Panels are lightweight, durable and extremely portable. The solar panels have weather resistant fabric that quickly fold for storage and unfold for use. Unmatched durability allows for use in the harshest environments and a panel that works even after a portion is damaged. These compact panels fit easily into most backpacks and are perfect accessories to provide power for a wide range of electronics. A number of different types of accessories for coloring means are available in prior art. For example, the following patents are provided for their supportive teachings and are all incorporated by reference:

Prior art document, US4555585A discloses a foldable solar panel apparatus has at least two panel portions which are connected together at a foldable edge to form at least one foldable pair which, in the folded-together state, is preferably stored in a panel container. A stationary folding and unfolding system brings the solar panel into the folded or unfolded state. During the folding process, the lowermost deployed foldable pair is folded together while the foldable pairs above it remain unfolded. The deployed foldable pairs are folded together individually in succession. During the unfolding process, the uppermost foldable pair stored in the panel container is unfolded while the fold pairs below it are held in the folded state. The stored foldable pairs are unfolded in succession during deployment.

Another prior art document, US6543725B1discloses a flexible foldable solar generator having an array of a plurality of blankets carrying solar cells hinge ably connected to be folded and unfolded. The solar cells are connected together by branches and the branches are connected by connector lines in inner and outer current conducting tracks system arranged outside the blankets. The branches connect the solar cells with the connecting lines in the outer track to form a U-shaped series connection of the cells and the U-shaped series connected cells are connected in parallel by the connecting lines in the inner track where they can be connected to energy systems of the space vehicle.

Yet another prior art document, US5969501Adisclosestrailer mounted, self-contained solar power system having a plurality of solar panel sections that are arranged to fold about the sides and top of the trailer. The panel sections unfold and lock together through slide rams that are contained within a rack structure supporting the panel sections to form a planar array that is easily deployable at a desired angle to the horizontal. The planar array pivots about a hinge along one side of the trailer top, and the panel sections are asymmetrically arranged so that positioning of the planar array can be easily accomplished.

Yet another prior art document, USD663261S1 discloses Foldable solar panel.

Yet another prior art document, USD778234S1 discloses a foldable solar panel showing the new design.

Yet another non-patent literature prior art document discloses solar panels which are lightweight, durable and extremely portable. The solar panels are mounted to weather resistant fabric that quickly fold for storage and unfold for use. Unmatched durability allows for use in the harshest environments and a panel that works even after a portion is damaged. However, above mentioned references and many other similar references has one or more of the following shortcomings: (a) Less accuracy; (b)Difficult to carry; (c) Expensive; (d) complexity in installation; (e) Cannot be used in variable sizes; (f) Heavy weight; and (g) Complex structure.
The present application addresses the above mentioned concerns and shortcomings (and other similar concerns/shortcomings) with regard to providing a new design of the folding solar panel.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
In the view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of foldable solar panel device, now present in the prior art, the present invention provides an improved foldable solar panel device. As such, the general purpose of the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a new and improved foldable solar panel device, which has all the advantages of the prior art and none of the disadvantages.

An object of the invention is to provide a foldable solar panel device comprising a plurality of solar module and a cloth. The solar module further comprises layers of a matte polymer, a plurality of EVA, a fabric strip, an array of solar cell, a fabric and a plurality of board. The solar module has a weather resistant cloth as back layer creating plurality of rows and keeping space between each row to facilitate folding of device. Each row of the foldable solar panel device comprises plurality of solar cells.

It is another object of the invention is to provide solar cells which can have both horizontal and vertical arrangement of solar cells or U-shaped solar cell assembly.

Yet another object of the invention is, horizontal solar cell arrangement and vertical solar cell arrangement is attached alternately in a row.

Yet another object of the invention is to provide a solar cell which is assembled with the merlin technology in the solar panel.

Yet another object of the invention is to provide a foldable solar panel device which can have different size and capacity varies based on the application.

Yet another object of the invention is but not limited to provide a foldable solar panel device which can have six solar cell strings with four solar cells in each row.

Yet another object of the invention is foldable solar panel device is compact, lightweight and portable.

In this respect, before explaining at least one embodiment of the invention in detail, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and to the arrangements of the components set forth in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. The invention is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced and carried out in various ways. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein are for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting.

These together with other objects of the invention, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the invention, are pointed out with particularity in the disclosure. For a better understanding of the invention, its operating advantages and the specific objects attained by its uses, reference should be had to the accompanying drawings and descriptive matter in which there are illustrated preferred embodiments of the invention.

Fig.1 depicts front view of the folding solar panel device according to one of the embodiments of the present invention.
Fig.2 depicts different layers of the solar module according to one of the embodiments of the present invention.
Fig.3 depicts back view of the folding solar panel device according to one of the embodiments of the present invention.
Fig.4 depicts the cross section view of the solar module when the folding solar panel device is folded according to one of the embodiments of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In the following detailed description, reference is made to the accompanying drawings which form a part hereof, and in which is shown by way of illustration specific embodiments in which the invention may be practiced. These embodiments are described in sufficient detail to enable those skilled in the art to practice the invention, and it is to be understood that the embodiments may be combined, or that other embodiments may be utilized and that structural and logical changes may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. The following detailed description is, therefore, not to be taken in a limiting sense, and the scope of the present invention is defined by the appended claims and their equivalents.

References will now be made in detail to the exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. Before describing the detailed embodiments that are in accordance with the present disclosure, it should be observed that the embodiments reside primarily in combinations arrangement of the system according to an embodiment herein and as exemplified in FIG. 1 – FIG. 3.

Fig.1 depicts front view of the folding solar panel device 100 according to one of the embodiments of the present invention. The folding solar panel device 100comprisinga plurality of solar cell strings101 laminated with weather resistant cloth102. The solar cells are laminated on the cloth 102 creating three rows 104, 105 & 106 and each row comprising four solar cells101. The folding solar panel device 100 having three rows of solar module 101 and each row is separated by keeping small space 103 to facilitate folding of the folding solar panel device 100.

The folding solar panel device 100 makes different folds and then connected internally with the help of copper hinge to extract the desired output. The folding solar panel device 100 converts the solar light into electricity.

Fig.2 depicts different layers of the solar module 101 according to one of the embodiments of the present invention. The solar module comprises two layers of boards 201 and EVA 202 wherein each layer comprising three boards and three EVA, a layer of fabric 203, again a layer of EVA 204, a number of solar cell 205 which can be arranged vertically or horizontally, then a layer of fabric strip 206, a layer of EVA 207 and last layer is matte polymer 208.

Fig.3 depicts back view of the folding solar panel device 100 according to one of the embodiments of the present invention. Three rows 104, 105 & 106 of the solar cell strings101 make two folds one upon another using space 103 to make the folding solar panel device 100 compact in size and is light weight which makes it easy to carry. The folding solar panel device 100 is portable and can be used anywhere. So, the constraints of weight and confined space are eliminated with the help of present invention. The folding solar panel device 100 can be used in remote areas to charge batteries and other electricity demanding applications where grid electricity is not available.
Fig.4 depicts the cross section view of the solar module101 when the folding solar panel device100 is folded according to one of the embodiments of the present invention. User can easily carry it and can generate electricity at any place where sunlight is available. The folding solar panel device 100 is assembled with unique merlin technology solar cells. This invention can be used for various voltage demands and can perform well even with damages caused to module or cells. The folding solar panel device 100 can have different size, shape and color.
