, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention generally relates to the field of material handling. The invention, particularly relates to folding leg palletstructure device for material handling.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Shipping pallets are normally discarded once the pallet has served its shipping purpose, unless it can be reused to transport a new shipment from the point at which the original shipment was received. Empty pallets are not normally transported for use elsewhere because the cost of transporting relatively bulky pallets often exceeds their value. It is impractical to disassemble a pallet and transport the relatively compact pallet pieces for reassembly of the pallet elsewhere, because disassembly often damages or destroys the pieces and because the cost of disassembling and reassembling conventional pallets is high compared to their value.
The prior art has accordingly evolved a variety of reusable pallet structures. These typically take the form of a series of stubby legs which are used to interconnect sheets of pallet material at several points to form a pallet. The legs are normally made of plastic or similar tough, impact resistant material. After the pallet has served its purpose (i.e. after the pallet has been used to ship goods from a source to a destination) the legs can be removed in order to disassemble the pallet. The legs, which are typically formed so that they can be compactly nested together, may then be transported to another shipping point where they can be reused to construct additional pallets.
A number of different types of systems and methods for folding leg pallet are available in the prior art. For example, the following patents are provided for their supportive teachings and are all incorporated by reference: US20070068426A1 discloses pallet assemblies made from sheets of corrugated materials like plastic and paper. The sheet is foldable into a nested panel structure defining an interior cavity. A foldable support leg is provided that has superior rigidity and load-bearing capacity once folded.
Another prior art document, JP2003081268A discloses a transporting pallet that transports a load placed on its top face and comprises a pallet main body and foldable legs. When the foldable legs are extended to a position where they are used being vertically provided from both ends of the pallet main body, the pallet can be stacked vertically. Also, for transportation pallet, it is possible to vertically stacked by increasing the folding legs.
Yet another prior art document, WO1998018686A1 discloses a pallet and pallet leg respectively made of corrugated paper-board having a transversal wave direction. According to the invention brace legs extend from the against each other abutting areas of the top surfaces of a leg, obliquely downwards and into the corner area between a base surface and a wall.
Yet another prior art document, US5367961A discloses a pallet support leg having a first short, hollow columnar member with a lower base portion which is indented to form a second hollow columnar member. The pallet leg can be removably attached to a sheet of pallet material to form a shipping pallet. After the pallet has been used, the leg(s) can be removed for compact transportation of the legs (with or without the sheet material) to another point, at which the legs may again be used to form a pallet.
Another prior art document, US20110259249A1 discloses a pallet provides reinforced columns and a more resilient periphery of the upper deck. The pallet includes an upper portion having an upper deck and a lower portion, which may include runners. Multiple outer column portions have peripheral walls extending from the upper portion to the lower portion. Multiple inner column portions are received within the outer column portions.
Another prior art document, US8770115B2 discloses a pallet assembly includes an upper portion and a lower portion. The lower portion includes lower column portions including a first lower column portion. The first lower column portion includes a peripheral wall and a support structure having a pair of walls extending inward from the peripheral wall.
There remains a constant need in society for a continuous flow of new and innovative material handling systems. It is in this context, that the subject invention is useful, not only to provide cheap and easy to operate/use.
In the view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of material handling systems now present in the prior art, the present invention provides an improved structure. As such, the general purpose of the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a new and improved folding leg pallet structure device which has all the advantages of the prior art and none of the disadvantages.
