Field of invention
This invention is a formulation in the field of color cosmetics for the development of color
powder without the use of corn-starch and talcum which makes it hundred percent safe. Com-starch is known to have susceptibility of combustion and have high ignition power in favorable
conditions and talcum has been identified as an allergen and carcinogenic. So, to avoid these
dangers, a formulation has been developed which is corn-starch and talc free to derive a
completely safe and non-hazardous composition of color powder.
Summary of the invention
Color powders are being used at wide range across the world at different occasions. Some are
synthetic and some are herbal. Synthetic colors are widely known to have harmful effects in
different ways. So, the development of herbal or natural color powder was encouraged to make
the festivals safe but it was later observed that these so called safe and herbal formulations also
contain some ingredients which can prove to be lethal and life threatening. 'These ingredieals are
particularly corn-starch and talcum. The main constituent corn-starch can lead to disaster
because of its property of catching fire and ruin the event. Similarly, another constituent talcum
can also act as mutant at several occasions and lead to life threatening diseases. This invention is
one step forward towards the development of such a color powder without the use of these
ingredients along with maintaining the properties that these constituents contribute to the color
powder. Keeping in mind the cost factors and the safety parameters, a totally safe, skin friendly,
harmless, high quality product has been developed.

The objectives of invention are as follows:
1) 100% Corn-starch £ree: There are many non-chemical color powder formulations which
claim to be safe and natural but the use of corn -starch makes them stand in the category
of unsafe as corn starch is associated with many dangerous effects.
It is combustible and easily catches fire. As it is known that color powder is being
used in many countries across the world in their big and small events such as
Color Run etc. Use of these powders in enclosed space with spot lights on
enhances the possibility of it catchipg fire when shot with high turbulence
intensity.
The H/D ratio of the cervices with which-it is shot plays an important role in its
ignition power. .
Along with this, It is also an allergen which may cause skin diseases.
So, to avoid these ill-effects despite being corn-starch a natural substance we have avoided
the use of it in our formulation to make it 100% safe which inturn makes it noncombustible.
2) Talc-free: Talc has been identified as a carcinogen and allergen. Some studies reveal that talc causes 75% of ovarian tumors. Therefore, the use of talcum in herbal
color powder makes it totally unsafe. We are not using talcum in our formulation to
alleviate any possibility of it causing any skin disease and being it carcinogenic.
Statement of Invention:
This invention is a step in the path of development of totally safe and secure herbal gulal
powder. This invention attributes to following advantages over existing color powders:
1) It is a corn starch free composition which is not the feature of existing natural color
powders which makes it non-combustible.
2) 'l'alcum is being used in color powder composition to make it soft, sniooth and shiny
over skin but it has several ill-effects associated with it such as it is an allergen as well as
can cause cancer when exposed to skin. It may also cause bronchitis when inhaled in
large quantity. To avoid these, we have developed a talcum free composition which is an
innovative step along with restoring its basic property of smoothness.

We claim:
1. The Color powder is developed has a formula' which is totally free from corn starch and
talcum powder
2. The claim 1 product is having safe ingredient such as precipitated calcium carbonate to act
as base for color carrier
3. The claim1 product is having Bentonite in fairly high quantity to make the bulk of the color
powder
4. The claim 1 product is made up of USFDA approved food colors only, no harmful colors are
used in the formulation, some are from natural dye . series and others are from FD&C.
5. The claim1 product is containing sodium benzoate which is used as preservative in the
formulation of our Color powder.
6. The claim 1 product is containing coconut oil in fakly small quantity to add beneficial effect
to the skin care.
