Abstract: The present invention relates to a formulation for enhancement of immunity in a person. The formulation is a combination of various herbs and plants produced in India. The formulation is in the form of a liquid beverage that is ready to drink. The formulation enhances a well being of a person boosting the immunity of a person when taken regularly. The formulation is a health drink. The formulation is without any preservatives & still having a longer shelf life at ambient conditions with no cold storage/frozen requirements.
[001]The present invention generally relates to herbal formulations and more particularly to a herbal formulation for enhancement of immunity in humans.
B)BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
[002]Immunity is body's defence system that fights against various external
substances and protects one's body. These external substances comprise viruses,
bacteria, fungus and much more. A strong, well-functioning immune system is the
cornerstone of good health. A strong immune system fights off diseases and
infections and helps in quick recovery from the disease. Immune boosting foods
and herbs can help the body and alleviate symptoms of various medical
conditions.
[003] There are various products in the market that claim to enhance immunity
of a person. Most of the products in industry either have preservatives or
chemicals. There is no product that is 100% natural and clean i.e. without any
preservative & that too without any need of cold storage/frozen requirements. Not
only that, market products are high in calories and contain a high sugar content
too. Some of these products are highly dehydrating.
[004] Hence there is a need to develop a herbal formulation that is in the form of
a beverage which enhances immunity of a person and that is natural and without
any preservatives.
[005] The value additions and above-mentioned shortcomings, disadvantages
and problems are addressed herein, as detailed below.
C) OBJECT OF INVENTION
[006] The primary object of the present invention is to provide a herbal formulation for enhancing immunity in humans.
[007] Another object of the present invention is to provide a herbal formulation
that is 100% natural, free from preservatives & still has longer shelf life at
ambient conditions.
[008] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a herbal
formulation that is low in calorie and has less sugar content.
[009] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a herbal
formulation that hydrates the body.
[0010] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a herbal
formulation that is Ready-To-Drink healthy beverage.
[0011] These and other objects and advantages of the embodiments herein will
become readily apparent from the following detailed description taken in
conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
D) SUMMARY OF INVENTION
[0012] The various embodiments of the present invention provide a formulation for enhancement of immunity of a person. The formulation comprises mix of fruit concentrate, tender coconut water, a mix of extracts of one or more herbs, black salt, flavouring agent, coloring agent and water. The mix of fruit concentrate is present in an amount of 1.05% to 11.1% by weight. The tender coconut water is present in an amount of 2% to 40% by weight. The mix of extracts of one or more herbs is present in an amount of 0.005%) to 5% by weight. The black salt is present in an amount of 0.01% to 1% by weight. The flavouring agent is present in an amount of 0.02% to 0.6% by weight. The Alphalpha extract (Green color) is present in an amount of 0.01% to 0.5% by weight and the water is present in an amount of 20% to 90% by weight.
[0013] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the mix of fruit concentrate comprises concentrate of deionized apple juice, concentrate of mosambi juice, and concentrate of lemon juice.
[0014] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the concentrate of deionized apple juice is present in an amount of 0.5% to 10% by weight.
[0015] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the concentrate of
mosambi juice is present in an amount of 0.05% to 0.10% by weight.
[0016] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the concentrate of
lemon juice is present in an amount of 0.05% to 1% by weight.
[0017] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the mix of extracts
of one or more herbs comprises an extract of ami a, an extract of ashwagandha, an
extract of gotu kola, an extract of moringa, and an extract of turmeric.

is present in an amount of 0.001% to 1% by weight.

ashwagandha is present in an amount of 0.001% to 1% by weight.

Centella asiatica is present in an amount of 0.001% to 1% by weight.

moringa is present in an amount of 0.001% to 1% by weight.

turmeric is present in an amount of 0.001% to 1% by weight.

comprises orange juicy flavour, and a sweetness modifier flavour.

modifier flavour 0.01% to 0.1% by weight.

flavour is present in an amount of 0.01% to 0.5% by weight.

The formulation for enhancement of immunity of a person comprises a mix of fruit concentrate, tender coconut water, a mix of extracts of one or more herbs, black salt, flavouring agent, coloring agent and water. The mix of fruit concentrate is present in an amount of 1.05 % to 11.1% by weight. The tender coconut water is present in an amount of 2%> to 40%) by weight. The mix of extracts of one or more herbs is present in an amount of 0.005%) to 5% by weight. The black salt is present in an amount of 0.01%) to 1%> by weight. The flavouring agent is present in an amount of 0.02% to 0.6%) by weight. The green color (alphalpha extract) is present in an amount of
0.01% to 0.5% by weight and the water is present in an amount of 20% to 90% by
weight.
[0032] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the formulation is in
the form of a liquid. The formulation is ready-to-drink liquid. The formulation
should be taken at least once a day. The formulation enhances general well-being
of a person.
[0033] The drink, according to the present invention, is without any preservatives.
Any drink with herbals has a challenge of achieving a longer shelf life. For this,
normal practise would be to add preservatives like ascorbic acid etc. but in the
present invention, this has been achieved without any preservatives & still
achieved a longer shelf life at ambient conditions.
[0034] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the fruit concentrate
comprises deionized apple juice concentrate, mosambi juice concentrate, and
lemon juice concentrate. The concentrate of deionized apple juice is present in an
amount of 0.5% to 10% by weight. The concentrate of mosambi juice is present in
an amount of 0.05% to 10% by weight. The concentrate of lemon juice is present
in an amount of 0.05% to 1% by weight.
[0035] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the extract of herbs
comprises extract of amla, extract of ashwagandha, extract of gotu kola, extract of
moringa, and extract of curcuma. The herbs play an important role in providing
the benefits of having the beverage drink.

present in an amount of 0.001% to 1% by weight. Amla (Indian Goosberry) is a
tree that grows in India, the Middle East, and some southeast Asian countries. The
pale green surface of amla fruit conceals more nutrition and has powerful natural
healing properties. Amla is rich in Vitamin C. Amla has 20-160 times more
vitamin C content as compared to Orange and Apple fruits respectively. Amla
offers antioxidant boost to fight free radicals in the body. Hence Amla is a very
potent herb to boost immunity.
[0037] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the ashwagandha
extract is present in an amount of 0.001% to 1% by weight. Withania somnifera,
known commonly as ashwagandha, Indian ginseng, poison gooseberry, or winter cherry is a plant in the Solanaceae or nightshade family. Ashwagandha literally translates to smell of horse. Like a horse, it improves body mass, strength and immunity. Ashwagandha increases the number of pathogen-fighting agents like WBC and platelets, the levels of the key proteins IL2 and IFNy, and the amount and variety of antibodies. Ashwagandha is classified as an "adaptogen," meaning that it can help your body manage stress. Ashwagandha also provides all sorts of other benefits for your body and brain. For example, it can lower blood sugar levels, reduce Cortisol, boost brain function and help fight symptoms of anxiety and depression. Thus, ashwagandha plays an important role in providing the benefits of the formulation of the present invention in improving the general wellbeing of a person.
[0038] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the centella extract is present in an amount of 0.001% to 1% by weight. Centella asiatica, commonly known as centella, Asiatic pennywort or Gotu kola, is an herbaceous, frost-tender perennial plant in the flowering plant family Apiaceae. Centella is native to the wetlands in Asia. Centella is used as a culinary vegetable and as a medicinal herb. Gotu Kola is also called as tiger herb in folklore as wounded tigers have been spotted rolling themselves in its leaves. It is also called the "herb of longevity" as elephants known for longevity love to eat its leaves. Gotu kola is said to fortify the immune system, both cleansing and feeding it and to strengthen the adrenals -33% of daily dosage in a serve.
[0039] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the moringa extract is present in an amount of 0.001% to 1% by weight. Moringa - Detoxifier and tonic at same time, purifies and nourishes the blood, muscle tissues, bone marrow and fat tissues of any toxins. Moringa is called sigru, or "it moves like an arrow" in the body because it rapidly penetrates the tissues and has deep absorption and detoxification ability, making its effect on the deep bone marrow tissue swift and effective. Turmeric or Curcumin, which
is the primary active ingredient in turmeric root, contributes to its anti-inflammatory effects. Turmeric does this by reducing the activity of two enzymes that are responsible for inflammation in the body. Turmeric is a blood detoxifier that destroys bacteria which causes diseases and promotes the body's natural defenses with high number of antioxidants.

[0046] FIG. 1 is a flowchart showing the various steps involved in the making of the formulation for enhancement of immunity, according to an embodiment of the present invention. With respect of FIG. 1, the equipments are cleaned and dried (101). The raw materials are cleaned and weighed (102). A mixture of fruit concentrate is prepared and loaded in a tank (103). A predetermined amount of tender coconut water is added in the tank (104). A mixture of extracts of one or more herbs is prepared and added in the tank (105). A predetermined amount of black salt is added to the tank (106). A predetermined amount of flavoring agent and coloring agent are added to the tank (107). A predetermined amount of water is added to the tank (108). The contents of the tank are blended and homogenized (109). The contents of the tank are pasteurized at 92°C/30Sec and hot filling is done at 72°C±2°C, followed by bottle capping, cooling and packaging the formulation (110). The formulation is a ready-to-drink beverage liquid. The fruit concentrate comprises concentrate of deionized apple juice added in an amount of 0.5%) to 10%o by weight, a concentrate of mosambi juice added in an amount of 0.05%) to 10%o by weight, and a concentrate of lemon juice added in an amount of 0.05% to 1% by weight.

[0048] In the present invention, coconut water plays a unique role in providing the sweetness to the formulation. The herbs used in the present invention have bitter taste that is not acceptable by the consumers. Hence, in order to avoid the usage of any artificial sweetener and to make the formulation of the present invention completely natural, coconut water is added. Other benefits of using coconut water is that it has less calories and there is no need of any preservatives. Thus, it makes the formulation of the present invention low calorie, naturally sweet and without any preservative which is safe for humans. The coconut water is added is a quantity of 2% to 40% which is unique to provide the optimum sweetness to the formulation.
[0049] Deionized Apple Juice Concentrate is produced by the clarification, filtration, deionization and the evaporation (concentration) of Apple Juice which has already been obtained by processing the fresh, clean, ripe and sound apples through the consecutive stages of washing, sorting, crushing and pressing. Naturally occurring substances which give the acidity, color and the taste (aroma) of apple juice are removed by the deionization process where the natural sugar content of the apple juice is preserved in the final product. Having no color, taste and odour; hence, deionized apple juice concentrate is used as a natural sweetener in the present invention to make the product 100%) natural.
[0050] An important aspect is that the drink is without added artificial preservatives. Any drink with herbals has a challenge of achieving a longer shelf life. For this, normal practice would be to add preservatives like ascorbic acid etc. The present invention ensures that there is no preservative starting from Raw material till finished goods, the formulation achieves a pH of between 3 to 4, Pasteurization being done at 88-94°C for time of 10 to 60 seconds & then liquid is being hot filled to achieve longer shelf life even at ambient conditions. Hence no requirement of cold storage/Frozen conditions.
G) ADVANTAGES OF INVENTION
[0051] The present invention provides a healthy product that is completely natural, low in calories and low in sugar at the same time. The formulation is free from any preservatives. The product is for consumers to continue pursuing healthy habits. The formulation is a liquid product which tasty, affordable, convenient and ready to use.

Therefore, while the embodiments herein have been described in terms of preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the embodiments herein can be practiced with modification within the spirit and scope of the claims presented in the complete specification or non-provisional application.
Claims:
A formulation for enhancement of immunity comprises:
a mix of fruit concentrate, wherein the mix of fruit concentrate is present
in an amount of 1.05%) to 11.1% by weight;
tender coconut water, wherein the tender coconut water is present in an
amount of 2% to 40% by weight;
a mix of extract of one or more herbs, wherein the extract of herbs is
present in an amount of 0.005%) to 5% by weight;
black salt, wherein the black salt is present in an amount of 0.01%> to 1%
by weight;
flavouring agent, wherein the flavouring agent is present in an amount of
0.02% to 0.6% by weight;
coloring agent, wherein the coloring agent is present in an amount of
0.01% to 0.5% by weight; and
water, wherein the water is present in an amount of 20% to 90% by
weight; and wherein there is no artificial preservative.
2. The formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fruit concentrate comprises concentrate of deionized apple juice, concentrate of mosambi juice, and concentrate of lemon juice.
3. The formulation as claimed in claim 2, wherein the concentrate of deionized apple juice is present in an amount of 0.5% to 10% by weight, wherein the concentrate of mosambi juice is present in an amount of 0.05% to 10% by weight, and wherein the concentrate of lemon juice is present in an amount of 0.05% to 1%> by weight.
4. The formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein the mix of extract of one or more herbs comprises an extract of amla, an extract of ashwagandha, an extract of gotu kola, an extract of moringa, and an extract of curcuma.
5. The formulation as claimed in claim 4, wherein the extract of amla is present in an amount of 0.001% to 1% by weight, wherein the extract of ashwagandha is present in an amount of 0.001% to 1% by weight, wherein the extract of centella
is present in an amount of 0.001% to 1% by weight, wherein the extract of moringa is present in an amount of 0.001% to 1% by weight, and wherein the extract of curcuma is present in an amount of 0.001% to 1% by weight.
8. The formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein the flavouring agent comprises orange juicy flavour, sweetness modifier flavour.
9. The formulation as claimed in claim 8, wherein the orange juicy flavour is present in an amount of 0.01% to 0.5% by weight, wherein the sweetness modifier flavour is present in an amount of 0.01% to 0.1% by weight.
10. The formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein the coloring agent is alphalpha
extract.
