Specification

[001] The present invention generally relates to herbal formulations and more particularly to an herbal formulation for promoting calmness in a person by relaxing nervous system of the person.
B)BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
[002] Nowadays, in day to day life, people face stress in one way or the other. Stress could be related to daily responsibilities like finances, work or relationships. Stress can influence the well-being and overall health of a person. The body is designed to experience stress and react to it - it can be positive, like a job promotion or getting married, but it becomes negative when one is forced to face continuous challenges without getting to relax in between. This distress leads to certain symptoms or diseases. When body is continuously stressed, it can lead to physical problems like headaches, high blood pressure, chest pain, insomnia, stomach upset, depression, etc.
[003] Energy drinks have become incredibly popular in recent years, promising to fuel up the body so that one can accomplish all the daily tasks, but they often come with a host of side effects, including nervousness, insomnia, heart palpitations, depression and anxiety. Now, some companies have decided to go in a different direction, producing products aimed to relax, or "anti-energy" drinks. But counteracting the jitters with a beverage that often contains artificial colours, flavours, preservatives and other potentially harmful ingredients isn't the best idea either. Most of the products in industry either have preservatives or chemicals which has negative effect on the body.
[004] Hence there is a need to develop a beverage drink that is capable of promoting calmness in a person. There is also a need to develop a herbal beverage which is 100% natural and without any preservatives & still has a longer shelf life. Further, there is a need to develop a beverage drink that is low in calorie, low in sugar, is less acidic and more hydrating and fulfilling.

[005] The value additions and above-mentioned shortcomings, disadvantages and problems are addressed herein, as detailed below.
C) OBJECT OF INVENTION
[006] The primary object of the present invention is to provide an herbal
formulation for promoting calmness in a person by relaxing the nervous system of
the person.
[007] Another object of the present invention is to provide an herbal formulation
that is 100% natural, free from preservatives & still has longer shelf life at
ambient condition.
[008] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide an herbal
formulation that is a blend of coconut water, mixed berries, lemon with carefully
selected ayurvedic herbs.
[009] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide an herbal
formulation that is Ready-To-Drink healthy beverage.
[0010] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide an herbal
formulation that is low in calorie, has no preservatives, low in sugar, less acidic
and more hydrating and fulfilling.
[0011] These and other objects and advantages of the embodiments herein will
become readily apparent from the following detailed description taken in
conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

Herbalists believe that Shankhpushpi calms the nerves by regulating the body's production of the stress hormones, Cortisol and adrenaline. The herb induces a feeling of calm and peace, good sleep and a relief in anxiety, stresses and mental fatigue.
[0029] Gotu Kola or Centella asiatica comprises leaves shaped like brain and possesses brain invigorating effect. Gotu Kola energizes the central nervous system and rebuilds energy reserves. Growing in some areas of the Himalayas, gotu kola is used by yogis to improve meditation. It is said to develop the crown chakra, the energy center at the top of the head and to balance the right and left hemispheres of the brain, which the leaf is said to resemble. [0030] Bacopa monnieri or 'Brahmi' is a Sanskrit word literally translating to "creative potential emerging from pure awareness", highly revered for mind enhancing properties and nervous system support. Ayurvedic tests describe Brahmi as medhya, a herb that braces the mind to carry cognitive functions and intellectual pursuits and creates a balanced emotional state. The herb nourishes the neurons that in turn improves retention ability and gets rid of unwanted anxieties. Brahmi further clarifies the confused and cloudy state of the brain. Hence, it rejuvenates the mind from daily exhaustion and stress. In ancient times, brahmi for its soothing properties to brain was famous among people who worked mentally hard or students memorizing tedious antediluvian vedic hymns for its nerve relaxation and superior brain functionality promotes equanimity and concentration. The herb has a unique capability to provide with a newer energy to the brain to restore its equation in simultaneously reducing the consequences of distress and nervous anxieties. Lastly, brahmi allows the brain to be prepared to act under adverse conditions such as stress.

[0032] The formulation of the present invention is naturally isotonic and nature's sport drink because of its electrolytes - K, Mg, Na, Ca. The formulation helps in preventing muscle cramping and fatigue.
[0033] Coconut water is found as blood plasma substitute because it is sterile, does not produce heat, does not destroy red blood cells and is readily accepted by the body. Coconut water keeps the body cool and acts as diuretic. According to Ayurveda, coconut water strengthens muscles, cardiovascular system and quantity/quality of the seven tissues. Further, coconut water has anti-viral and anti-fungal properties.
[0034] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the flavouring agent play an important role in the present invention. [0041] In the present invention, coconut water plays a unique role in providing the sweetness to the formulation. The herbs used in the present invention has bitter taste that is not acceptable by the consumers. Hence, in order to avoid the usage of any artificial sweetener and to make the formulation of the present invention completely natural, coconut water is added. Other benefits of using coconut water is that it has less calories and there is no need of any preservatives. Thus, it makes the formulation of the present invention low calorie, naturally sweet and without any preservative which is safe for humans. The coconut water is added in a quantity of 2% to 40% which is unique to provide the optimum sweetness to the formulation.

[0042] Deionized Apple Juice Concentrate is produced by the clarification, filtration, deionization and the evaporation (concentration) of Apple Juice which has already been obtained by processing the fresh, clean, ripe and sound apples through the consecutive stages of washing, sorting, crushing and pressing. Naturally occurring substances which give the acidity, color and the taste (aroma) of apple juice are removed by the deionization process where the natural sugar content of the apple juice is preserved in the final product. Having no color, taste and odour, hence, deionized apple juice concentrate is used as a natural sweetener in the present invention to make the product 100% natural.
