Abstract: A forwarding device (10) performs Pdelay message reception processing (101), Sync/Follow up message reception processing (102), Announce message reception processing (103), Sync reception/transmission guard management processing (104), delay measurement computation processing (105), time synchronization computation processing (106), time selection computation processing (107), and frame transmission processing (108). The forwarding device (10) performs port-by-port monitoring of the reception state of an Announce message (61) that reports time source information and, when the monitoring indicates that the state of a time source has worsened, e.g., that the reliability of a time has dropped, does not forward a Sync/Follow_up message (51) for time synchronization. The forwarding device (10) thereby causes the Sync/Follow_up message (51) to time out and rapidly reports the worsening of the time source to other devices.
