Abstract: Present disclosure provides a front fender mounted and extended on front and rear side of a front suspension system of the motorcycle. This arrangement is to cover upper side of a front wheel. This arrangement is related to an improvement which has a support panel secured on inner surface of front fender with the help of support structures coupled with bracket(s) fixed with the front suspension system. The front fender is mounted between the support panel and bracket. Mentioned support structures and bracket are coupled through fastening member(s) passing through the support structures.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention generally relates to front fender of motorcycle extending on front and rear side of the front suspension system. Specifically, present invention is focused on an improved structure of the front fender.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Generally, in motorcycles front fender undergoes more stress generation due to over hang design of front fender. For eliminating stress concentration on over hang area ribbings or reinforcement structurs are provided. These ribs or reinforcement structures are provided on front fender for form stiffness but this leads to sink mark formation in surface which will affect the apperance and aesthetics at front side of the vehicle.
To avoid mentioned sink mark issues and to maintaining the stiffness, a metal bracket is provided with the front fender but this arrangement leads to increase in weight and material cost.
Further, said bracket is made of metal there are possible chances of rust formation and corrosion which affects the durability of the product and manufacturing process and post process like oiling, painting of metal bracket becomes more time consuming. Such type of complex profile and process of front fender leads to restricted design flexibility of front fender.
Accordingly, the present invention provides a simple and durable solution for the above described issue.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Main objective of the present invention is to provide a motorcycle with an improved front fender with a specifically structured support panel secured on inner surface of said front fender through support structures coupled with a bracket. This bracket is fixed with the front suspension system such that the front fender is secured between the support panel and said bracket. Said support structures and the bracket are coupled through fastening members passing through the support structures.
Mentioned support panel has a horizontal panel with a first vertical panel and a set of vertical panels extending upward from outer periphery of said horizontal panel such that height of the first vertical panel is more that the set of vertical panels. Said support panel further has a second vertical panel extending upward from the support panel and secured inside the support panel such that support rib structures are joining the first vertical panel and the second vertical panel.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The present invention will become more fully understood from the detailed description given herein below and the accompanying drawing which is incorporated in and constitute embodiments of the invention, illustrate several aspects of the invention and together with a description of the embodiments serve to explain the principles of the invention and thus, are not limited of the present invention and a brief description of the drawing is as follows:
Figure 1 is showing the mounting arrangement of the front fender on the front suspension system.
Figure 2 and Figure 3 are describing the details of the embodiments of the invention in order to describe the location of the essential embodiments of the invention.
Figure 4 and Figure 5 are depicting the constructional details of on the essential embodiments of the invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The embodiments disclosed below are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed in the following detailed description. Rather, the embodiments, are chosen and described for enablement purpose of the invention. The invention may have application to all types of vehicles. The scope of the invention is entirely based upon the claims provided.
Reference is made to Figure 1 for describing the mounting arrangement of the front fender 102 on the front suspension system 101. Front fender 102 is fixed with mounting bracket 103 further fixed with the head tube member 100 of the front suspension system 101. Said front fender 102 is extended in the front and the rear direction of the front suspension system 101 and covering upper part of the front wheel 104.
Further Figure 2 and Figure 3 are describing the constructional details of the front fender 102 with a focus on the location details of the support panel 105 in it. Said support panel 105 is fixed in the front part of the front fender 102 through fastening means passing through multiple support structures (108,109, and 110).
These support structures are supporting the panel on multiple locations (108,109, and 110) such that the front fender 102 is fixed between the support panel 105 and the bracket 103 of the front suspension system 101.
Further referring to Figure 4 and Figure 5, constructional details of the support panel 105 are described. Said support panel 105 is having a horizontal panel 113 with a first vertical panel 114 and a set of vertical panels 117 extending upward from outer periphery of said horizontal panel 113 such that height of the first vertical panel 114 is more that the set of vertical panels 117.
Said construction of the support panel 105 is further having a second vertical panel extending upward from the support panel 105 horizontal surface 113 and secured inside the support panel 105.
Support rib structures 116 are joining the first vertical panel and the second vertical panel with each other in order to ensure the strength the rear part of the support panel 105 as this part is used to support the centre of the front fender 102.
There are multiple support structures 108, 109, 110 are present over the support panel 105, secured at multiple locations and facilitating the mounting of support panel 105 with the front fender 102 and the front suspension system 101 through fastening members through a bracket 103
*
which is also connecting the front suspension system 101 with the head tube member 100.
Above described arrangement provides a cost effective and easy way for improving aesthetic look, engine efficiency and packaging of the vehicle.
