Specification

FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention generally relates to a front fork of a two wheeled vehicle and more particularly to a cover of the front fork.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
Generally front fork of the vehicle is covered with a cover such that entry of mud, dust or water can be prevented inside the absorber unit of the front fork. This cover is normally limited the joint of the absorber unit and the slider unit and is mounted there. Mounting of said cover at mentioned location is difficult as at that location lies neighbouring the outer periphery of the wheel.
In some existing arrangements extended up to the wheel hub and a stronger mounted is provided. In this case, its mounting falls in vicinity of the mounting of the Antilock brake unit/ABS unit provided neighbouring the wheel hub, which again makes the overall mounting arrangement complex.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
Main objective of present invention is to provide a fork cover which is
integrated with the ABS cover for the vehicle. This unit is a single piece unit
-''''■'''.
which solves mounting issue of the fork cover as well its lower portion is structured to cover ABS unit. Due to one piece construction minimum mounting points provides simple arrangement which also helps in serviceability issue at user end.
Summary provided above explains the basic features of the invention and does not limit the scope of the invention. Additional detailed information related to the
enablement of the invention will be provided in the detailed description and accompanying claims. Scope of the invention shall be based on the claims provided.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
The present invention will become more fully understood from the detailed description given herein below and the accompanying drawing(s). Provided drawings are incorporated in and constitute embodiments of the invention and illustrates several aspects of the invention and together with a description of the embodiments serve to explain the principles of the invention. Drawings given below are provided to support the description of the invention and are not limiting the scope of the present invention. A brief description of the drawing is as follows:
Figure 1 is depicting essential embodiments of the claimed invention.
Figure 2 is showing mounting arrangement of essential embodiments of the invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
The embodiments disclosed below are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed in the following detailed description. Rather, the embodiments are chosen and described so that best enabling arrangements of the invention can be explained through all possible embodiments and examples of it. The invention may have application to all kind of two wheeled vehicles.
Referring to Figure 1 and Figure 2, front part of the vehicle is shown depicting the main embodiments of the invention. Front wheel 107 of the vehicle is mounted below the front panel 110 of the vehicle. Said front wheel 107 is connected with the vehicle steering assembly through front fork 100. Said front fork 100 is fixed with the head tube of the vehicle frame on its upper end and with the wheel axle on its lower end.
Said front fork 100 has an absorber unit as well as slider unit such that slider unit is partially housed inside the absorber unit and adjust its position inside it in order to balance external force coming on vehicle. The joint between said absorber unit and the slider unit is partially opened through with external elements like duct, water or mud gets into it and blocks it.
A cover 102 is mounted over said joint, which extends downwards till the end of the front fork 100 and along the lower part of the front fork 100. Said cover 102, further extends inwards form its lower end 104 and forms an inwards extension 105. Said inward extension 105 is of the circular shape which is manufactured to cover the antilock brake unit (hereinafter ABS unit) 108 mounted over the wheel 107.
Corresponding upper mounting 114, side mounting 103/109 and lower mountingsll5 are provided for attaching said cover with the front fork and the ABS unit 108. The cover 102 is mounted on the front fork 100 through side mounting 109,103 and covering the joint 112 with upper mounting 113 portion of the cover 102.
Mentioned inward extension 105 is mounted over the ABS unit 108 through lower mounting area 115 such that it covers ABS unit 108 completely. This inward extension 105 is circular/ round in shape such that it counterparts the shape of ABS unit 108.
Due to integrated construction and minimum mounting locations, number of parts used becomes less and manufacturing as well as serviceability improves. Reduction in number of parts also decreases vibration issues if the fork and front wheel during motion.
WHAT IS CLAIMED IS
A cover for a front fork of a two wheeled vehicle comprising a front wheel fixed with the front fork such that an antilock brake unit lies between the front wheel and the front fork characterized in that lower end of the cover is extended inwards and defines an inward extension, wherein said inward extension covers the antilock braking unit of the two wheeled vehicle.
The cover for the front fork, as claimed in claim 1, wherein said inward extension, is corresponding to the shape of the antilock brake unit.
The cover for the front fork, as claimed in claim 2, wherein the inward extension is mounted over the antilock brake unit at atleast one lower mounting location.
The cover for the front fork, as claimed in claim 1, wherein said cover is mounted over the front fork at atleast one side mounting location and atleast one upper mounting location.
