FIELD OF INVENTION

The present invention relates to a two wheeled vehicle and more particularly to the fuel tank assembly of the two wheeled vehicle.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Generally, fuel tank of a two wheeled vehicle is covered with side cover in order to deviate the air coming from front way from the rider's legs and also helps to decrease the vibration level of the fuel tank but due to practical manufacturing issues the gap between the fuel tank and the side covers never goes to zero and generally remains around 3-5mm which increases the vibrations in the fuel tank itself causing problem for the rider as well as this gap issue causes poor aesthetics. Thus a solution is required to minimize the vibration of the fuel tank and to improve the aesthetics of the vehicle for consumers.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Accordingly, the present invention related to a two wheeled vehicle having a fuel tank mounted over a frame assembly and said fuel tank assembly is further having multiple side covers including fuel tank outer side cover and fuel tank inner side cover, wherein the fuel tank inner side cover is secured over the fuel tank outer side cover at multiple locations and to the fuel tank at single location. Further, the fuel tank outer cover is fixed with the fuel tank at multiple locations.

The said fuel tank also comprises a fuel tank centre cover which is fixed with the fuel tank through a fixing bracket and said fuel tank centre cover comprises multiple support structures.

Figure 1 is the side view of the frame assembly in order to specify the location of the fuel tank assembly.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The embodiments disclosed below are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed in the following detailed description. Rather, the embodiments are chosen and described so that others skilled in the art may utilize their teachings. The invention may have application to all types of two wheeled vehicles.

Figure 1 is the side view of the frame assembly (104) depicting the location of the fuel tank (103) and the arrangement of the embodiments of the invention such as the fuel tank outer side cover (101) and fuel tank centre cover (102).

Further, referring to figure 2, exploded view of the exemplary embodiments of the invention is shown in order to describe the arrangement of different embodiments with respect to each other. The fuel tank (224) is covered by multiple covers like centre cover (210), fuel tank outer side covers (207,215) and fuel tank inner side covers (205, 218) wherein the fuel tank inner side covers (205, 218) are fixed on the inner surface fuel tank outer side covers (207,215) through the locations (201,203,204,206) and (219,220,221,222) respectively. Further the fuel tank outer side covers (207, 215) are secured over the fuel tank (224) at locations (213,214,216,217). Further the centre cover (210) is fitted with the fuel tank through a holding bracket (212) and the fastener provision (209).

Referring to figure 3, side view of the fuel tank side cover (300) is shown in order to describe the arrangement of the fuel tank outer side cover (302) and the fuel tank inner side cover (307) wherein the fuel tank outer side cover (302) and fuel tank inner side cover (307) are sharing the joint with the fuel tank (not shown in the figure) and the fuel tank outer side cover (302) is attached with the fuel tank at three more locations (301,303,304) which provide best result for minimum vibration of the fuel tank such as the location (301) is having a square rubber cushion and location (303) is having a round rubber cushion and location (304) and (306) are fastened with fastening means. Further the fuel tank inner side cover (307) is fastened with the fuel tank outer side cover (302) at three more locations (308,309,310).

Further, referring to figure 4, fuel tank centre cover (400) is shown in order to explain its constructional details. Said centre cover is fixed with the fuel tank centre cover holding bracket (not shown in the figure) through the fastener holding bracket (401) in such a way the vibration of the fuel tank can be minimised. The fuel tank centre cover holding bracket is further fixed with the centre cover (400) through holding sockets (404,405) which is again helping in reducing the vibration level of the fuel tank. In order to avoid any practical manufacturing adjustments multiple rubber cushions can be fixed with the fuel tank centre cover (400).

WHAT IS CLAIMED IS

1) A two wheeled vehicle comprising:

a) a fuel tank mounted over a body frame;

b) a plurality of fuel tank side cover defining a plurality of fuel tank outer side cover and a plurality of fuel tank inner side cover such that the plurality of fuel tank inner side cover is secured on the inner side of the plurality of fuel tank outer side cover at atleast one location and on the fuel tank at atleast one location and the plurality of fuel tank outer side cover is fixed with the fuel tank at plurality of locations; and

c) a fuel tank centre cover fixed with the fuel tank through a fixing bracket and a plurality of support structure.

2) The two wheeled vehicle, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the plurality of fuel tank outer side cover is defining a left side fuel tank outer cover and a right side fuel tank outer cover.

3) The two wheeled vehicle, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the plurality of fuel tank inner side cover is defining a left side fuel tank inner cover and right side fuel tank inner over.

4) The two wheeled vehicle, as claimed in claim 2 and claim 3, wherein the left and the right side of the fuel tank side cover is defined with respect to the forward motion direction of the vehicle.

5) The two wheeled vehicle, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fixing bracket and the plurality of support structure is integrated with the fuel tank.
