Abstract: Present invention provides a fuel tank for a two wheeled vehicle in which a reinforcement plate is fixed inside the fuel tank, preferably on the right side. This arrangement ensures that dead fuel or unusable fuel collected in the right side of the fuel tank remains at this place and does not reaches to the fuel outlet on road jerks or inclination of vehicle. With described and claimed arrangement in the fuel tank constant fuel efficiency of the vehicle can be achieved and hence misconception of more or less or variable efficiency of the vehicle can be removed.
FIELD OF INVENTION
The invention generally relates to the fuel storage tank of a two wheeled vehicle and more particularly to inner construction of the fuel tank of the two wheeled vehicle.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Generally, two wheeled vehicles has fuel tank assembly made up of fuel tank outer and inner integrated with each other and forming a closed structure assembled with the frame by different damper and fastening means.
Existing construction of fuel tank assembly, especially the construction of fuel tank inner, has issues such as formability (manufacturing) of fuel tank inner as structure of fuel tank inner is decided by the fuel tank outer profile, which causes volume usage issues such as differing vehicle consumption rate as per customer usage pattern.
Thus related constraints in fuel tank inner leads to lesser flexibility in volume optimisation, which is required to be taken care of and hence a different and suitable inner construction is required to address discussed issue.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention provides a fuel tank for a two wheeled vehicle with an outer cover and a tank inner cover assembled together to make a closed structure.
Said fuel tank inner cover has a fuel outlet connected to a fuel flow channel, multiple/single support element secured along a horizontal axis of the fuel tank inner cover, a fuel tank front mounting bracket and a fuel tank rear mounting bracket defining the horizontal axis of the fuel tank inner cover along the frame of the two wheeled vehicle.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The present invention will become more fully understood from the detailed description given herein below and the accompanying drawing which is incorporated in and constitute embodiments of the invention, illustrate several aspects of the invention and together with a description of the embodiments serve to explain the principles of the invention and thus, are not limited of the present invention and a brief description of the drawing is as follows:
Figure 1 is the side view of the fuel tank assembly showing the mounting arrangement of fuel tank over the frame of the vehicle.
Figure 2 is showing the essential embodiments of the invention.
Figure 3 is an exemplary representation of the assembly of the essential embodiments of the invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The embodiments disclosed below are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed in the following detailed description. Rather, the embodiments are chosen and described for enablement purpose on invention so that others may utilize their teachings. The invention may have application to all types of vehicles. The scope of the invention is entirely based upon the claims provided.
Reference is made to Figure 1, which depicts the side view of the fuel tank assembly showing mounting arrangement of said tank 01 over the frame 07 of the vehicle. Fuel tank 01 is attached with the head pipe 02 of the vehicle on the front side and connected to the frame 07 through a rear mounting bracket 03 on its rear end. Fuel from the fuel tank 01 flows through the fuel flow channel 05 and fuel flow pipe 04 and enters the carburettor (not shown in figure).
Further as shown in Figure 2, lower cover 100 of fuel tank 01 is connected with the frame on its front side through surface 102 and on its rear through the mounting provision 105.
A support element called as reinforcement plate 106 is fitted on right side of the fuel tank 01 such that it is covering right side 103 of the fuel tank lower cover 100.
Further, as shown in Figure 3, reinforcement plate 106 is covering right side 103 of the lower fuel tank cover and almost half area of the centre of lower fuel tank cover such that mentioned reinforcement cover 106 is blocking the flow of dead fuel/ unusable fuel towards the fuel tank outlet 107.
Due to above mentioned arrangement dead fuel or non usable fuel stored in said sides of fuel tank or the dead area does not flow towards the outlet 107 on the left side of the fuel tank 01 irrespective of the motion surface or power or road jerks etc.
The fuel consumption rate remains same for the vehicle as the available fuel for consumption remains same and does not vary by conditional addition of dead fuel available in the fuel tank.
WHAT IS CLAIMED IS
1) A fuel tank for a two wheeled vehicle comprising a plurality of fuel tank outer cover with a fuel inlet and a fuel tank inner cover configured to make a closed structure with the plurality of fuel tank outer cover and said fuel tank inner cover comprises a fuel outlet connected to a fuel flow channel wherein, the fuel tank inner cover comprises a plurality of support element secured along a horizontal axis of the fuel tank inner cover and wherein, a fuel tank front mounting bracket and the fuel tank rear mounting bracket secured on a frame are defining the horizontal axis of the fuel tank inner cover.
2) A fuel tank, as claimed in claim 1, wherein front part of the plurality of fuel tank outer cover is joined with front part of the fuel tank inner cover through the fuel tank front mounting bracket.
3) A fuel tank, as claimed in claim 1, wherein rear part of the plurality of fuel tank outer cover is joined with rear part of the fuel tank inner cover through the fuel tank rear mounting bracket.
4) A fuel tank, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fuel outlet is secured on left side of the horizontal axis of the fuel tank inner cover.
5) A fuel tank, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the plurality of support element is secured on right side of the horizontal axis of the fuel tank inner cover.
