Gas Barrier Film And Method For Producing Same

Abstract: A gas barrier film has a resin substrate, and an oxygen barrier membrane provided on at least one surface of the resin substrate, the gas barrier film also comprising an underlayer and/or an inorganic oxide layer between the resin substrate and the oxygen barrier membrane. The black area ratio of one surface, as measured using the measurement method described below, is 0.15% or less. A discretionary 1281-µm-square region on one surface of the resin substrate is photographed using an optical microscope to acquire a photographed image measuring 1024×1024 pixels. Image analysis software is used to convert the photographed image to a monochrome image having 256 gradient steps. Using, as a threshold value, a value obtained by subtracting 30 from the mode of the brightness in the monochrome image, the brightness is binarized such that values less than the threshold value become black and values equal to or greater than the threshold value become white. The proportion of the total area of black regions having a size of 100 µm2 or greater in the 1281-µm-square region is used as the black area ratio.
