Abstract: There is provided a gesture recognition device that recognizes a gesture of shielding the front side of the imaging sensor, the gesture recognition device including a first detection unit that detects a change in a captured image between a state in which a front side of an imaging sensor is not shielded and a state in which the front side of the imaging sensor is shielded, and a second detection unit that detects a region in which a gradient of, a luminance value of the captured image is less than a threshold value in the captured image in the state in which the front side of the imaging sensor is shielded.
