Glassy Pig Iron Material And A Process Thereof
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to glassy pig iron or modified pig iron alloy having soft magnetic properties and a process of preparation thereof. Said preparation process employs melt spinning technique comprising distinct parameters/features to obtain rapidly solidified glassy and amorphous pig iron or modified pig iron alloy with soft magnetic properties. The products are prepared in the form of ribbons, flakes or pulverized powders and are useful in applications including transformer application, magnetic powder cores, coating for electro-magnetic shielding, anti-corrosive coatings or any other application(s) requiring pig iron or corresponding alloys.

Specification
Claims:1. A process for preparing glassy pig iron with soft magnetic properties, comprising steps of:
melt spinning pig iron ingot, and
ejecting the molten pig iron, followed by quenching to obtain glassy pig iron with soft magnetic properties.
2. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the pig iron ingot is selected from a group comprising composition of Formula I and composition of Formula II, wherein the composition of Formula I is FeaCbPcMndSie and composition of Formula II is FeaCbPcMndSieBfCrgMohNbi.
3. The process as claimed in claim 2, wherein the elemental concentration of composition of Formula I is 78 =a=80, 14=b=17, 04, 0.420, 0.44, 0.420, 0.420, 0.44, 0.44, 0.420, 0.420, 0.44, 0.4
