Gps System Based Smart Vehicle Tracking System To Prevent Vehicle From Theft

Abstract: In today’s world theft is increasing a lot, especially if we talk in the categories of vehicle; bikes have now become the major choice of thieves to steal. The affordable bikes come with very less security. So, for thieves it is not very hard to steal it. They just need the master key or sometimes not even the master key to theft the bike. Even if a thief know few technicalities he can easily start the bike even without the keys. The affordable bikes were made for the common man and any theft loss will cost more to him not just at the physical level but even at the psychological level also. For the security purpose of the bike it is the need of the hour to install affordable security systems in the bikes which will not cost the user as big as the loss of his vehicle. Now the next question which comes out is that how we can achieve that level of security in automobiles especially in bikes? The idea which can be implemented here is that every bike will be connected to the GPS through the user’s mobile phone. In that case it will be very easy for any user to track his bike irrespective how much far the user is from his bike. This will not only stop the theft of bikes instead it will also track the thieves who will be trying to thief any person’s bike. The application of the proposed system is not limited to the just track the secure automobiles from theft, instead it can be used for multiple purposes. For instance, if any user will give his vehicle to his adult child who has just learned how to handle a vehicle, he can always keep track of his child. This system can also be used in the emergency situations like whenever user will hit any kind of accident. At that time it will be very easy for ambulance to get the location of the user. The proposed system is capable of avoiding the theft and accidents. Also this system can be best used at the time of emergency situations, where it can notify the police officials regarding theft and hospital authorities of it a case of an accident.

Specification

The system which is proposed in this report will be implemented in the toolbox of the bike. The
toolbox will also be having a key lock only. Now here can be a question that locks can be easily
crack able by the modern thieves. Yes, but here is some twist. The twist is that every time will
try to open the toolbox an alarm will rang on the user mobile which only user can switch off by
entering the right password. If any other person will try to open the toolbox the user will get to
know about it.
Under the toolbox there will be the system consisting of following components:
1. Microcontroller
2. Photo resistive Sensor
3. Sound Sensor
4. GPS Module
5. Wife Module
6. GSM Module
7. Electronic Throttle Controller
8. Rechargeable Battery
As the toolbox will be opened the photo resistive sensor will come directly to the contact of light.
This will change the resistance of the sound sensor which is directly connected with the photo
resistive sensor. The change in resistance will lead to the generation of the sound from the sound
sensor. Now if the user is opening the toolbox then he can switch off this notice by entering the
password in his mobile. But if it is because of any intruder the user will be notified immediately
before any thief will even try to destroy the system.

Even if the thief is able to anyhow manage to steal the bike, the bike can be tracked with the help
of user’s mobile phone. The proposed system’s microcontroller will be connected with the GPS
module. This module will keep help to track the location of the bike. To use the GPS system the
user will have to set a threshold value of distance between his bike and himself. Such that
whenever the user will go more far from his bike which is greater than the threshold value the
alarm on his phone should start ringing. So, whenever the user will park his bike anywhere and if
it is stealing by any thief then the user will be notified as his phone starts ringing.
The system will also be connected to the wife module. This module will update the information
related to bike periodically on the cloud server. The system also consists of the GSM module
which will be used to send message to the nearest police stations. As the thief will move fast
with bike the GSM module will send messages to the respective police stations which will
eventually help police to block roads by putting barricades so as to efficiently caught the thief.
Also even after sometime at a particular distance the thief may damage the system its last
location will be saved to the cloud server with the help of wife module. This will help the police
to at least know the direction where the thief has gone.
3 Description of the Invention
GPS system based smart vehicle tracking system to prevent vehicle from theft consists of various
components as shown in figure 1:
1. The invented system (101) is place inside the toolbox of the bike. The toolbox will be
having a normal locking system.
2. The invented system consists of GPS module (202) which will be always connected to
the mobile of the user. This will help user to track his motorcycle even in the cases when
he gives his bike to any of his friend. In the case of theft he can share the location and
other details to the police so that police can stop thief by blocking roads.
3. With the help of the GPS module (202) user can set the distance limit between his phone
and his bike. With the help of this system when the distance between user and bike will
increase an alert message will be given to the user via GSM module.
4. The microcontroller (201) is connected to the wife module (203) which will periodically
upload all the information to the cloud server. This will help user in multiple ways. Like
he would be able to know how many kilometers he has derived today. Whenever he will
go out of the town he can give his access to one of his family members so that if any
accident happens to the user his last location can be accessed by his family members.
5. If in any case the thief is able to open the lock of the toolbox the bike will be imposed to
light which will led to the change in the resistance of the photo resistive sensor (205).
Due to the change in the resistance of the photo resistive sensor the sound sensor (206)
will get active. This is how the invented system will make sound whenever it will be
opened.
6. The sound sensor (206) can be made off entering the password set in the mobile phone of
the user. Hence, when user will open the toolbox he can make it off using his mobile and
whenever any intruder will open the toolbox it will notify the user regarding the theft.
7. The electronic throttle controller (207) is also provided whose limit can be set by user in
mobile by using wife module (203). As whenever any intruder will try to get the bike of
the user, the user can first set the throttle speed to zero so that the bike cannot be derived
by the thief. This will also help user to drive safe as he can set the limit of the throttle
above which the bike speed can be obtained. This will be the best tool for the parents as
they can set the speed limit for their adult children’s as sometimes may be because of
immaturity they may break the laws of speed limit.
8. At the time of emergencies like whenever any thief is able to run on bike successfully the
GSM module (204) will immediately send the alert message to the nearby police stations.
9. There will be a rechargeable battery (208) which will always be connected to the system
and provide continuous power to the system. This will led the system work for whole day
and night without any kind of interruption.

We Claim
1. A system as claimed in 1, wherein the system is GPS based smart vehicle tracking system
to prevent vehicle from theft is designed to save bike to be steeled by the thieves.
2. A system as claimed in 2, wherein the system is GPS based smart vehicle tracking system
to prevent vehicle from theft in which photo resistive sensor is placed along with sound
senor module so that if anyone will try to steal the system from toolbox, the toolbox can
blow the alarm so that user can be notified.
3. A system is claimed in 3, wherein the system is GPS based smart vehicle tracking system
to prevent vehicle from theft which automatically updates the location of the vehicle
using the GPS module on the user mobile. This will help user to always identify the
location of his bike.
4. A system is claimed in 4, wherein the system is GPS based smart vehicle tracking system
to prevent vehicle from theft which automatically periodic updates about the condition of
the vehicle on the cloud server. This would led the user know about all the previous
locations of the users where users have gone with his vehicle. This also calculates the
total distance travelled by the user by his vehicle.
5. A system is claimed in 5, wherein the system is GPS based smart vehicle tracking system
to prevent vehicle from theft which automatically sends alert message to the nearest
police station along with the location of the bike with the help of GSM module. This
function of the system can also be used in the energy situations like road accidents.
6. A system is claimed in 6, wherein the system is GPS based smart vehicle tracking system
to prevent vehicle from theft in which the speed of the electronic throttle can be
controlled by using the user’s mobile. Hence, whenever anything like theft is sensed the
user can set the throttle speed to zero so that the thieve will not be able to start the
vehicle. This function of the system can also be used when the vehicle is driven by an
adult especially when he was at the learning stage of driving to avoid accidents at high
speed.
