Abstract: The invention discloses furniture integrated with green house / hydroponic garden for hydroponic growth of plants. The green house / hydroponic garden is set up as an integral part of a furniture unit that can be used in a living or working environment. The system is automated and part of furniture used in our day to day lives like – Bedside table, Book shelves, TV Stand, Kitchen Cabinets, TV stand, Coffee Table. A plant growing tray / container for green house / hydroponic plant growth is used as an integral part of furniture for use in home / work environments. It has artificial lights and automated nutrient feeder system integrated into the furniture. Fig. 5

Claims:We claim:

1. A green house furniture (101) comprising at least one grow tray (102) with gravel/pebbles as a grow medium for the plant roots for support; a reservoir (104) situated at the bottom with nutrient solution in it; a submersible pump (103) placed in the said reservoir that enables the circulation of the nutrient from the reservoir to the said grow tray and back to the reservoir; water pipes (106) connected from the reservoir to the grow tray for facilitating the circulation of nutrients; at least one low power consumption LED grow light (108) fixed to the furniture for the plants for growth & flowering and electrical wiring (107) to the said submersible pump and LED grow light; the said electrical wiring and water pipes concealed in the furniture.

2. The green house furniture (101) as claimed in claim 1 further comprising drawers (105) for utility purposes.

3. The green house furniture (101) as claimed in claim 1 wherein the system is made from High Grade wood / particle boards / (Fiber Reinforced Plastics & Composites), Solid Surface material of (Aluminum Trihydrate + Acrylic + Polymer), Plastic, ABS.

4. The green house furniture (101) as claimed in claim 1 wherein the LED grow light (108) is an energy efficient LED PAR spectral horticulture hydroponics light.

5. The green house furniture (101) as claimed in claim 1 wherein the water pipes (106) are made of high grade 0.4cm/0.6cm silicon pipes.

6. The green house furniture (101) as claimed in claim 1 further comprising cartesian straight (transparent, gelatinous) connectors, Straight B & 3way/4way (milk white, gelatinous) connectors and polytetrafluoroethylene sealants.

7. The green house furniture (101) as claimed in claim 1 wherein the submersible pump (103) is a multifunction A C submersible aquatic pump.
, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to the integration of modular automated simple soil less garden/ green house working on hydroponics, with regular furniture that is used at homes, offices, hotels, resorts, hospitals and almost any where.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] Growing Plants & Vegetable using Hydroponics (Soilless Cultivation) as a science is very old, and has been practiced widely in the western countries successfully. This technique of cultivating crops / vegetables have been successfully used where soil & water conditions are not favorable for growth of plants, vegetables & ornamental plants etc, under controlled environmental conditions.

[0006] Hydroponic Gardening / Cultivation has always been practiced as a serious hobby / commercial farming under controlled conditions, and requires little bit of training, knowledge about Botany, Chemistry, Agriculture and a tedious job to set it up as a full fledged green house.

[0007] Hydroponics in India

[0008] Commercial - In India there are a few agriculturists who are practicing this Hydroponic cultivation on a large scale, for commercial purposes – leveraging the benefits of the science and it attracts a huge initial cost of set up.

[0009] Hobby - There are a few systems available in India for people wanting to try Hydroponics as Hobby, but these systems are mostly designed as a stand alone gardening system and are suited only for outdoor gardening.

[00010] These people normally depend on natural light for growth, and are set up either on the terrace or in the balcony and the systems are neither user friendly or aesthetically appealing.

[00011] The drawbacks of the systems being used in the market are:

Systems are very basic
Depends on natural light
Can be used only outdoors
Form factor is not aesthetically designed
Cumbersome
It is mostly made out of very crude plastic containers / pipes & fittings.
They are mostly based on NFT system or Tower system

[00012] There is a recognized need in the art for furniture integrated with green house / hydroponic garden that does not suffer from the drawbacks of conventional systems. The present invention overcomes the above disadvantages and fulfills this long standing need in the art.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[00013] An object of the present invention is to provide furniture integrated with green house / hydroponic garden.

[00014] Another object of the present invention is to provide furniture integrated with green house / hydroponic garden that is minimally time consuming, easy to install and manage gardening / agriculture system, which will empower common man to own & manage multiple green patches in the comfort of their homes/offices.

[00015] Another object of the present invention is to provide furniture integrated with a green house / hydroponic garden which makes it simple for a common man to have his own patch of greenery at a very minimal effort & very little time spent on installing and managing it.

[00016] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide furniture integrated with green house / hydroponic garden which is aesthetically designed and fits wells into the décor of Home or Office or any functional area inhabited by people.
[00017] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide furniture integrated with a green house / hydroponic garden that can be used in any home or office.

[00018] Further object of the present invention is to provide furniture integrated with a green house / hydroponic garden that is completely soilless and can grow any type of plants that can be grown in a Hydroponic environment.

[00019] Further object of the present invention is to provide furniture integrated with a green house hydroponic garden that is completely ready to use, along with the necessary seeds, plant nutrients and hardware for growth of plants.

[00020] Further object of the present invention is to provide furniture integrated with green house / hydroponic garden that has been designed for growing plants in indoors.

[00021] Accordingly, to meet the objects of the invention, disclosed herein is a green house furniture which comprises at least one grow tray with gravel/pebbles as a grow medium for the plant roots for support; a reservoir situated at the bottom with nutrient solution in it; a submersible pump placed in the said reservoir that enables the circulation of the nutrient from the reservoir to the said grow tray and back to the reservoir; water pipes connected from the reservoir to the grow tray for facilitating the circulation of nutrients; at least one low power consumption LED grow light fixed to the furniture for the plants for growth & flowering and electrical wiring to the said submersible pump and LED grow light; the said wiring and water pipes concealed in the furniture.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[00032] Definitions unless defined otherwise, all technical and scientific terms used herein have the same meaning as commonly understood by one of ordinary skill in the art to which this invention belongs.

[00033] The present invention discloses furniture integrated with green house / hydroponic garden.

[00034] Referring to Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4, the furniture (101) integrated with hydroponic garden according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises at least one grow tray (102) with gravel/pebbles as a grow medium for the plant roots for support; a reservoir (104) situated at the bottom with nutrient solution in it; a submersible pump (103) placed in the said reservoir that enables the circulation of the nutrient from the reservoir to the said grow tray and back to the reservoir; water pipes (106) connected from the reservoir to the grow tray for facilitating the circulation of nutrients; at least one low power consumption LED grow light (108) fixed to the furniture for the plants for growth & flowering and electrical wiring (107) to the said submersible pump and LED grow light, the said electrical wiring and water pipes concealed in the furniture. Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4 depict a bed side rack furniture with 4 different views. A plurality of grow trays may be used for growing plants suitable for use in an embodiment of the invention. The LED grow lights are fixed to the furniture such that there is sufficient lighting for the plants.

[00035] As shown in Figure 1, the furniture may further comprise of drawers (105) for utility purposes.

[00036] Figures 5, 6 and 7 depict a kitchen rack furniture with 3 different views in accordance with another exemplary embodiment of the present invention.

[00039] This system is a fully integrated self-sufficient hydroponic indoor garden kit, embedded with regular furniture.

[00040] The whole working is semi automated and requires very minimal human intervention once installed and the plants start growing.

[00041] The system / kit is made available as a complete kit with the Indoor Hydroponic system, nutrient raw materials, seeds, gravel and a user manual.

[00042] The consumer will be able to install the kit, spread the grow medium – gravel, germinate the seed, and enjoy watching the plant come to life.
[00043] There is no need for regular watering of the plant, as the nutrient solution is in the reservoir is re-circulated and reused, till such time it loses its potential or evaporates.

[00044] The materials used for manufacturing the system are not currently used by any of the system available in the market today, globally. This system is preferably made from High Grade wood / particle boards / (Fiber Reinforced Plastics & Composites), Solid Surface material of (Aluminum Trihydrate + Acrylic + Polymer), Plastic, ABS, Energy Efficient LED PAR spectral horticulture hydroponics light, High Grade 0.4cm/0.6cm Silicon pipes, Cartesian straight (transparent, gelatinous) connectors, Straight B & 3way/4way (milk white, gelatinous) connectors, polytetrafluoroethylene sealants & Multifunction A C Submersible Aquatic Pump. Other such materials may be used consistent with the spirit of the invention.

[00045] This system has got utility benefits apart from the space used for plant growth.

[00046] It is neat, sleek, compact and does not take additional space & fits into even the smallest of home/office environment.

[00047] Its look is contemporary & elegant.

[00048] It is automated, and requires very minimal manual intervention except for switching on the motors & lights.

[00049] It is suited of growth & flowering in indoors.

[00050] This system has been developed with an objective of increasing the green footprint in the world, by simplifying the steps involved in creating & managing a soilless gardening system / green house, that is an integral part of our furniture that is used in our daily lives.

[00051] This is the only invention, where a mini soilless indoor garden is part of regular furniture & it is organic.

[00052] The biggest advantage of this invention is that it takes very little space to own a green patch and it promotes soilless cultivation. It helps one grow their own crops and requires very little manual intervention.

[00053] This invention allows people have a soilless automated garden in the smallest space possible in an indoor environment.

[00054] This invention does not need additional space, and is designed to be part of the regular household or office furniture.

[00055] It makes the pleasure of owning & managing a soilless garden very easy and it is automated.

[00056] This invention is eco friendly, and will reduce the carbon footprint in the world, as it works as a catalyst to increase the green cover – It is the only regular furniture system that promotes a green house / hydroponic plant growth, without the presence of sunlight.
