US20020154960A1 discloses A power drill includes a main body that is divided into a power
chamber for mounting a driving motor and a vacuum fan therein and a dust collecting chamber
for mounting a dust-filter therein. A hose is connected to a front inlet of the dust-collecting
chamber with a front suction inlet of the hose fixed to a retractable hose holder to closely locate
below a bit of the power drill. When the motor is turned on, it drives the bit to drill a hole and the
vacuum fan to rotate at the same time to produce a suction force in the dust-collecting chamber,
so that any dust produced during the drilling operation is immediately sucked into the dustcollecting
chamber via the hose and then trapped in the dust filter that could be removed from
the dust-collecting chamber and cleaned for use next time. The retractable hose holder gradually
and elastically retracts when the bit drills the hole, so that the suction inlet of the hose is always
kept closely below a joint of the bit and the drilled hole to effectively suck any produced dust.

collected in the collector and an air filter will be attached in front of the drill motor to restrict the
entry of dust particles. The inventive step in the system revolves around the technology that the
suction is done through drill motor only instead of some external source or vacuum pump.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The novel feature of a hand-held drilling machine/driver is that the machine is provided with a
plastic chamber called collector to collect the dust sucked using vacuum suction.
This drill machine further has a spring loaded cup that surrounds the revolving drill bit, which
collects or sucks the dust while machine is drilling a hole, the spring loaded cup can move
5
forward and backward with ease as the drill bit is moving inside the wall to collect each dust
particle falling outside the hole.
In this way, the cup is attached through pipe to vacuum suction and all the dust will be collected
in the collector and an air filter will be attached in front of the drill motor to restrict the entry of
dust particles. The inventive step in the system revolves around the technology that the suction is
done through drill motor only instead of some external source or vacuum pump.
Finally, it is to be mentioned that the preferred embodiments of the invention include that the

vacuum suction.
BEST METHOD OF WORKING
The diagram gives the description
In the above figure the part labeled with no. are described below:-
1- This part is the DRILL BIT of the drill.
2- This part is COLLECTING CUP that surrounds the drill bit and all the dust and other chips
fall in this cup and get collected in this cup only. This cup has ends with rubber lining so as to
have a good grip with the wall.
3- This part represents SPRING LOADED RODS that facilitate the to and fro movement of the
cup while drilling the hole, these springs push the cup against the wall in forward direction.
There will be four rods with four springs over them all at the four corners of the cup.
4- This part represents CHUCK where drill bit is held.
5- This part is BASE TIGHTENER as it will grip the base to the body of the drill.
6- This part represents RODS which have spring loaded over them. These can be of any light
material like aluminum or alloy.
7- This part represents BASE which is tightened to the body of the drill machine. This base has
four holes at the four corner which facilitate the to and fro movement of the spring loaded rods.
As the drill bit moves inside the wall the rods move backward but keep the cup pushed against
the wall.
8- This part represents FAN like part of the drill machine which is used to cool the drill motor
while it is in operation; this fan draws air form the back slits of the drill body. This air is then
6
thrown out of drill machine body just before chuck and this movement of air creates the vacuum
suction at the back slits of drill body which is proposed to create vacuum for the dust to be
collected at the point where drilling is being done.
9- This represents BLUE ARROWwhich is passing through thedrill motor and helps to create
the vacuum suction at the backend of the drill. This vacuum force created at back of the drill
draws the air from inside the cup via flexible pipe connecting the back of drill and cup.
10- This part represents DRILL MOTOR which is used to provide rotary motion to the drill bit.
11- This represents BLUE ARROW which is entering through the back of the drill.
12- This part is CONNECTOR that connects the flexible cable with back of the drill.
13- This part represents HOLDER of the drill machine which is used to hold handheld drill
machine.
14- This part represents SWITCH which push starts the drill motor when it is pressed.
15- This part represents AIR FILTER this part is used to filter the air before it enter the drill
motor chamber to cool down the drill motor while in operation. This part frees the air of any dust
particle or foreign material which could be harmful to the moving parts of drill machine which
are air cooled. The filter has the facility of removing the dust particles or drilled out waste
product after the drilling operation is over.
16- This part labeled represents DUST PARTICLES OR DRILLED OUT WASTE which is to
be collected near the filter and can be removed after the drilling operation is over.
17- This represents FLEXIBLE PIPE which is connected to collecting cup at one end to filter at
the other end, also one part of it attached to filter at outer end and the other end of the pipe is
connected to back connector of the drill machine.
18- This represents DUST PARTICLES OR DRILLED OUT WASTE which is falling under
gravity also due to vacuum suction force generated due to movement of the air.
19- This represents the Air Outlet portion of the drill machine where the heated air comes out
after cooling the drill machine.
