Specification

DESC:BACKGROUND
Technical Field
The embodiments herein generally relate to a peculiar hospital bed and more particularly to, a head and foot bows for hospital bed having an in built cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) board profile.

Description of the Related Art

Presently the CPR board is imported in India as there is no local manufacturer in India. Therefore, we have supply issue and hence the cost for the CPR Boards in the market is in on the higher side. The Head/foot bows 104 which are available in market have different designs and shapes. However, there remains a need for a CPR board which is integrated in the hospital bed itself so that the cost for additional CPR board is eliminated and some portion of the existing hospital bed can be converted into a make shift CPR board so that the hospital staff does not go searching for CPR board during an emergency situation.

SUMMARY
The embodiments herein provide a head and foot bows for hospital bed which includes a CPR board profile integrated within the bow structure of the head and foot portion of the bed, wherein the CPR board profile is located on lower portion of the bow structure which is having a dipped portion on surface of the bow with a depth, length and width such that to rest a patient’s head within the profile, a multiple mounting brackets to mount the bows on either ends of the bed, wherein the mounting brackets facilitate the bows to be in vertical position and horizontal position when required, a multiple clip plates to secure the bow, which is mounted on either ends of the bed, tightly with the mounting brackets; and a cover plate to cover the metal clip plates.

In an embodiment, the bows may include several hollow sections to grip the bows while employing the bow in vertical or horizontal position. In an example embodiment, the bow is made from a rigid material such as plastic, ABS, fiber-reinforced plastic, etc. or like.

The embodiments herein has multiple clip plates which may be made from a metal. The cover plate to cover the metal clip plates is made from plastic or like.

These and other aspects of the embodiments herein will be better appreciated and understood when considered in conjunction with the following description and the accompanying drawings. It should be understood, however, that the following descriptions, while indicating preferred embodiments and numerous specific details thereof, are given by way of illustration and not of limitation. Many changes and modifications may be made within the scope of the embodiments herein without departing from the spirit thereof, and the embodiments herein include all such modifications.

FIG. 4 illustrates a head bow portion of the hospital bed having a CPR board profile according to an embodiment mentioned herein. In the present embodiment, the bed will have an in-build CPR board which can be used during emergencies by simply removing the Head/Foot Bow and invert shown in the fig. and rest the patient’s body in such a way that the patient’s head is resting on the protruding CPR profile and start giving the CPR. This way the hospitals can save substantially on the CPR board costing and arrangement of an extra space to store the CPR board.

Also the panic situation of finding CPR board during such emergencies could be avoided and it can result in to many patients lives saving. Here, the CPR board profile 114 may be integrated within the bow structure 106 of the head and foot portion of the bed, wherein the CPR board profile is located on lower portion of the bow structure which is having a dipped portion on surface of the bow with a depth, length and width such that to rest a patient’s head within the profile.
In an embodiment, a multiple mounting brackets 112 may be used to mount the bows on either ends of the bed, wherein the mounting brackets facilitate the bows to be in vertical position and horizontal position when required. In one embodiment, a multiple clip plates 110A may be used to secure the bow, which is mounted on either ends of the bed, tightly with the mounting brackets. A cover plate 110B may be used to cover the multiple clip plates.

In an embodiment, the bows may include several hollow sections 116 to grip the bows while employing the bow in vertical or horizontal position. In an example embodiment, the bows may be made from a rigid material such as plastic, ABS, fiber-reinforced plastic, etc. or like. The multiple clip plates 110A may be made from a metal. The cover plate 110B to cover the metal clip plates may be made from plastic or like.

The foregoing description of the specific embodiments will so fully reveal the general nature of the embodiments herein that others can, by applying current knowledge, readily modify and/or adapt for various applications such specific embodiments without departing from the generic concept, and, therefore, such adaptations and modifications should and are intended to be comprehended within the meaning and range of equivalents of the disclosed embodiments.
