3. Heavy duty vibration dampening pad as claimed in claim 1, wherein PCP-HDVD 0116 consists of three different material layers with a protective film as below bottom layer as 4th layer.
, Description:
Field of Invention

The present invention relates to Heavy Duty Vibration dampening pad and more particularly this invention was intended to increase the vibration dampening property of conventional material structure borne vibration dampener for mainly but not limited to such sheet metal , plastic surface such as HDPE, Acrylic, Fiber Reinforced Plastic and similar surfaces.

Herein after referred as PCP- HDVD 0116 as mainly but not limited to sheet metal body structure vibration dampener for use in mainly but not limited to in automobile such as on road and off road vehicles, white goods industry such as dish washer, washing machine, furniture, constructions, railways etc., and other similar location as heavy duty vibration dampener. More precisely used in automobile body shell locations such as but not limited to Floor Panel, Wheel House Panel, Fire Wall Panel, Door Inner Panel, Roof Panel, Trunk Panel etc., Dish washer, Washing machine, Railway Locos engine room and driver cabin side walls, floors panels etc.

Prior Art

For many years either asphalt based vibration dampener, also globally known as Sound Deadener Pad/Asphalt Sheet / Antivibration Pad, IFF, as an unconstrained layer vibration dampener or Butyl based with Aluminum foil laminated as constrained layer is considered as an important material for (,sheet metal) vibration dampener and is extensively used in automobiles but not limited to, for dampening of sheet metal vibration.

Present available conventional materials in the industry have a limitations with Vibration dampening property with respect to cost and application

Summary of the Invention

These problems are over come by present invention of PCP- HDVD0116 High Dampening Pad PCP-HDVD0116 is so designed that it can be used in by industry as an OEM product and also as an after market for sectors such as but not limited to for automobile , road and off road vehicles , white goods industry such as dish washer, washing machine, furnitures, constructions , railways ect , and other similar location as heavy duty vibration dampener. PCP-HDVD 0116 is usually having a rectangular shape cut flat sheet but can of custom designed profile of thickness range 3.0 mm to 8 mm as per the need of users .

PCP-HDVD 0116 is a highly self tack product with a protective film on tack surface. For application on desired surface protective film of
PCP HDVD0116 is removed and pasted on clean surface of desired substrate.

The main features of this invention is PCP-HDVD 0116 is having the following properties :-

Higher acoustical property as that of conventional asphalt based material
Processable in conventional application process as present in industry;

Specifically designed to use in ambient temperature as after market and house hold use;

Easy application, peel off and stick application;

Recyclable and Reusable.

Brief Description of the Invention
To assist with the understanding of the invention, explanation of the invention will now be made as below.

PCP-HDVD 0116 consists of three different material layers with a protective film as 4th layer.

PCP-HDVD 0116 is prepared from commercially available materials as below:-
Top Later (Constrained Layer): Aluminum Foil, thickness 0.01 to 0.07 mm.

Intermediate Layer : Vibration Damping Pad , thickness 1 to 3.5 mm, specific Gravity : 0.9 to 2.5 consists mainly but limited to a) Ashpalt (Commercially known as Bitumen), b) Mineral filler such as but not limited to Calcium Carbonate, Slate Stone, Glass Bead, Mica, c)Polymeric materials such as but not limited to EVA,LDPE,SBR,NR, d) Fibrous material such as but not limited to natural or synthetic fiber, requisite processing additives are mixed together at a high temperature 110°C to 230 °C and sheeted out to desired thickness.

A typical combination but not limited to ,are mixed in the ratio of materials in %are , Asphalt 15% to 55%, Filler 25% to 78%, polymeric material 0.1 to 8 %, Fibrous Material 0.2% to 13, additives 05% to 3% .After homogenous mixing under controlled temperature and time the compound thus formed are rolled out to sheet of desired thickness.
Bottom Layer : Anti vibration pad , thickness 1.5 to 3.5 mm , specific gravity : 1.5 to 2.0 consists mainly but not limited to , a)Polymeric materials such as but not limited to IIR EVA,SBR,NR b) Mineral filler such as but not limited to Calcium Carbonate, Slate Stone, Glass Bead, Mica , c) Tackifires such as but limited to, Hydro Carbon Resins , Polbutene , Natural Rosins tackifiers .d) Plasticizers such as but not limited to Parafinc Oil , Napthanc Oil

A typical combination but not limited to ,are mixed in the ratio of materials in %are , a)Polymer 10% to 55%, b)Mineral Fillers 25% to 78% , c)0.2% to 15% d) Plasticizers 0.2% to 5% .After homogenous mixing under controlled temperature and time the compound thus formed are rolled or extruded out to sheet of desired thickness.

These sheets of Vibration Damping Pad and Antivibration Pad are pasted together.
Exposed surface of Vibration Damping is laminated with Aluminum Foil and exposed surface of Antivibration Pad is laminated with protective peel off paper. Thus formed composite layer of Aluminum Foil + Vibration Damping Pad + Antivibration Pad + Protective Peel off Layer is trimmed to desired profile shape in trimming process .

PCP-HDVD0116 thus prepared is then subjected for the following tests but not limited to as
Specific Gravity
Heat Flow
Peel Strength
Ash Content
Flexibility
Blocking Strength
Loss Factor

A typical Loss Factor trend when tested as per SAE J 1637 “Laboratory Measurement of Composite Vibration Damping Properties of Materials on a supporting Steel Bar” is as per Trend Chart 01
