Abstract: An herbal composition for oral care is disclosed. FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to herbal composition for oral care and a process for the preparation thereof. Particularly this invention relates to a novel herbal composition for oral care, and a process for the preparation of the herbal composition for oral care.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
A number of tooth paste are as such known in the prior art for cleaning the tooth. Even the herbal tooth paste compositions are known in the prior art for cleaning the tooth. One of the herbal tooth paste is known in the art by the name 'Sudanta' which comprises black pepper, clove, cinnamon, mayaphal (Quercusinfectoria), bakul (MimusopsElengi), maricha (Piper nigrum). The tooth paste is manufactured and sold by Sri Sri Ayurveda.
Another herbal tooth paste is disclosed in the US patent application no. 5294434A discloses a dentifrice composition which comprises a mixture of aloe vera and chlorophyll. The aloe vera - chlorophyll mixture present in the tooth paste composition is in the amount of at least 1.5% by weight of the total composition mixture and the chlorophyll in the total composition mixture is in the amount of at least 0.09% by weight.
There are disadvantages associated with the herbal tooth paste known in the prior art. One of the disadvantages is that the conventional herbal tooth paste comprises only two herbs, aloe vera and chlorophyll.
Another disadvantages is that the other useful herbs have not been used so far and therefore the toothpaste is not capable to clean the teeth and gums completely.

Yet another disadvantages is that the convention tooth paste are incapable to keep oral freshness for a long time.
Therefore, there is a need to develop an herbal tooth paste comprising aloe vera and other efficacious natural and active herbs for oral care.
OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide an herbal composition for oral care which obviates the disadvantages associated with the prior art.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an herbal composition for oral care which is safe to use and oral freshness remain for a long time.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide an herbal composition for oral care which do not have any adverse effect the teeth and gums.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide an herbal composition for oral care which can be prepared in the form of paste, powder, gel, liquid and / or crystal.
A further object of the present invention is to provide a process for the preparation of herbal composition for oral care.
STATEMENT OF THE INVENTION
According to this invention there is provided an herbal composition for oral care comprising 0.01 - 10 % by weight Anar chhilka Extract, 0.001 - 3 % by weight Mulethi root extract, 0.001 - 3 % by weight Laung bud oil, 0.001 - 5 % by weight Badi elachi oil, 0.03 - 5 % by weight Zinger rhizome oil, 0.03 - 5 % by weight Black pepper oil, 0.001 - 5 % by weight Anise oil, 0.01 - 5% by weight Dal chini oil, 0.0001

- 3 % by weight Menthol crystal, 0.0001 - 5 % by weight Divyadhara, 0.1 - 0.5 % by weight Asphatic bhasma, 0.1 - 0.8 % by weight Tankan Bhasma, 4 - 8 % by weight Glycerin, 0.01-0.5% by weight Cetyl Pyridinium chloride (CPC), 5-65% by weight Sorbitol, 1 - 5 % by weight Polyethylene Glycol - 1500 (PEG -1500), 0.01
- 0.07% by weight Sodium saccharin, 0.01 - 0.7% by weight Tri Sodium Ortho Phosphate (TSOP.12H20), 0.01 - 0.08% by weight Sodium fluoride, 1 - 9 % by weight M.Phil (PPt. Silica), 1 - 10% by weight Absil-100 (PPt Silica-100), 0.1 - 3% by weight Absil-200 (PPt. Silica-200), 0.001-0.80% by weight Zinc Sulfate, 0.01 -35 % by weight potassium citrate, 0.01-0.08% by weight Sodium carboxy methyl cellulose (SCMC), 0.001-0.06% by weight Pluracare, 0.001-0.4% by weight Viscarin (Carrageenan), 0.1-3% by weight Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), 0.005-2% by weight Sodium hydroxide, 0.001 - 0.40% Salidine (Chlorohexidine gluconate), 0.001 - 0.05% Vitamin E, 0.01 - 4% Propendiol, 0.01 - 3% RH-40, flavours & sufficient quantity of Process water.
Further according to this invention there is provided a process for the preparation of the herbal composition for oral care comprising;
a. Charging 4 to 8 % by weight process water into a steam jacketed main vessel,
adding 5-65 % by weight of Sorbitol-70%, 0.01 - 0.07 % by weight of sodium
saccharin, 0.001 - 0.80% by weight of zinc sulfate, 0.01 - 35% by weight
potassium citrate, 0.01 - 4 % by weight of propendiol & 1 - 5 % Polyethylene
Glycol (PEG) -1500 under continuous stirring and homogenizing,
b. Preparing a slurry of 0.01 - 0.08% Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (SCMC)
in 4 - 8 % by weight Glycerin and charge the same into main mixture (Step
a) under continuous stirring, mixing & homogenizing and mix further till
complete dissolution of the ingredients.

c. Charging pre-dissolve colour solution (0.0001 -0.007% Ponceu 4R (C116255)
in process water) into the main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing at
60 - 80 degree C.
d. Charging a premix of 0.1 -0.5% by weight of Asphaticbhasm, 0.1 -0.8% of
Tankan bhasm and 0.01 - 0.7% of Tri sodium ortho phosphate (TSOP) with
1 - 5% by weight of process water, filtering the premix through a sieve of
(120#) one by one and charge it into main mixer under continuous stirring,
mixing and vacuum at 600-700mmHg for 20-30 minutes.
e. Charging 1 - 9 % by weight of M. Phil (PPt Silica), 0.001- 0.4% of Viscarin
TP, 1 - 8% weight Absil 100 (PPt. Silica 100), 0.01 - 0.08% of sodium
Fluoride (NaF), 0.001 - 0.06% by weight of Plura Care under continuous
stirring, mixing and homogenizing.
f. Adjusting speed of scrapper at 1000 - 1200 rpm, homogenizer at 2500 -
2800 rpm and Anchor at 1100 - 1300 and adding the powder phase into the
mixture in 3 - 5 steps under vacuum at 600-700mmHg for 40 - 50 minutes.
g. Charging 0.1 -4 % of SLS Needles and 0.001 -0.5% of CAPB into the mixer
under continuous stirring and vacuum at 600-700mmHg for 20 minutes to
avoid lump formation followed by cooling.
h. Charging NaOH solution (0.001-0.05% of NaOH in 0.001-0.05% of water)
into main mixer under continuous stirring at 60 - 70 degree C for about 15-
20 minutes, i. Charging 0.001-0.03% of sungold MP 29 into main mixer under continuous
stirring and mixing, j. Charging pre-dissolve 0.01 - 10 % by weight of Anar Chilka extract in
Propylene Glycol and 0.001 - 0.3% by weight of Mulethi root extract in

Propylene glycol one by one into main mixer under continuous stirring & mixing.
k. Preparing a flavor premix by charging of 0.01 - 3% by weight of Hydrogenated Castor Oil (RH-40) into side pot and stirring followed by addition of 0.001 -3% by weight of Laung oil, 0.001 - 5% of Badi elachi oil, 0.03 - 5 % by weight of Zinger oil, 0.03 - 5% by weight of Black pepper oil, 0.001 - 5 % by weight of Anise oil, 0.01 - 5 % of Dal chini oil, 0.001 - 0.40 % of Salidine, 0.001 -0.05% by weight of Vitamin E, 0.0001 - 5 % by weight of Divyadhara, 0.01 -2% of flavor optament fresh and flavor Active key one by one and mix well, and adding 0.0001 - 3% by weight menthol crystal, adding 0.01 - 0.5% by weight of CPC and dissolve it properly in the mixture and the transferring the bulk into main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing,
I. Testing the composition for the quality control and filing the same into the tooth paste tubes for use by the users.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
An herbal composition for oral care and a process for the preparation thereof, according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention is herein described in the following description and illustrated in the accompanying examples.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
An herbal composition for oral care and a process for the preparation thereof is herein described with numerous specific details so as to provide a complete understanding of the invention. However, these specific details are exemplary details and should not be treated as the limitation to the scope of the invention. Throughout this specification the word "comprise" or variations such as "comprises

or comprising", will be understood to imply the inclusions of a stated element, integer or step, or group of elements, integers or steps, but not the exclusions of any other element, integer or step or group of elements, integers or steps.
According to this invention the herbal composition for oral care comprises 0.01 - 10 % by weight Anar chhilka Extract, 0.001 - 3 % by weight Mulethi root extract, 0.001 - 3 % by weight Laung bud oil, 0.001 - 5 % by weight Badi elachi oil, 0.03 - 5 % by weight Zinger rhizome oil, 0.03 - 5 % by weight Black pepper oil, 0.001 - 5 % by weight Anise oil, 0.01 - 5% by weight Dal chini oil, 0.0001 - 3 % by weight Menthol crystal, 0.0001 -5 % by weight Divyadhara, 0.1 -0.5 % by weight Asphaticbhasma, 0.1 - 0.8 % by weight Tankan Bhasma, 4 - 8 % by weight Glycerin, 0.01-0.5% by weight Cetyl Pyridinium chloride (CPC), 5 - 65% by weight Sorbitol, 1 - 5 % by weight Polyethylene Glycol - 1500 (PEG -1500), 0.01 - 0.07% by weight Sodium saccharin, 0.01 - 0.7% by weight Tri Sodium Ortho Phosphate (TSOP. 12H20), 0.01 -0.08% by weight Sodium fluoride, 1 -9 % by weight M.Phil (PPt. The process for the preparation of an herbal composition for oral care, according to this invention, comprises;

a. Charge 4 to 8 % by weight process water into a steam jacketed main vessel and
heat it to a temperature in the range of 65 - 85°C. Add 5-65 % by weight of
Sorbitol-70%, 0.01 - 0.07 % by weight of sodium saccharin, 0.001 - 0.80% by
weight of zinc sulfate, 0.01 - 35% by weight potassium citrate, 0.01 - 4 % by
weight of propendiol & 1 - 5 % Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) -1500 under
continuous stirring and homogenizing, stir the above mixture for 55 - 65 minutes
at 65 - 85 °C,
b. Prepare slurry of 0.01 - 0.08% Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (SCMC) in 4
- 8 % by weight Glycerin and charge the same into main mixture (Step a) under
continuous stirring, mixing & homogenizing and mix further till complete
dissolution of the ingredients.
c. Charge pre-dissolve colour (0.0001-0.007% Ponceu 4R, C116255 in 0.001-0.5%
process water) solution into the main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing
at 60-80 degree C.
d. Charge premix of 0.1 -0.5% by weight of Asphaticbhasm, 0.1 -0.8% of Tankan
bhasm and 0.01 - 0.7% of Tri sodium ortho phosphate (TSOP) with 1 - 5% by
weight of process water, filter it through a sieve of (120#) one by one and charge
into main mixer under continuous stirring, mixing and vacuum at 600-700mmHg
for 20-30 minutes.
e. Charge 1 - 9 % by weight of M. Phil (PPt Silica), 0.001-0.4% of Viscarin TP, 1
- 8% weight Absil 100 (PPt. Silica 100), 0.01 - 0.08% of sodium Fluoride (NaF),
0.001 - 0.06% by weight of Plura Care under continuous stirring, mixing and
homogenizing. Adjust the speed of scrapper (1000-1200), homogenizer (2500-
2800) and Anchor (1100-1300) during addition of powder phase. Add powder

phase into 3- 5 steps. Adjust the speed of anchor as per required. Mix under vacuum at 600-700mmHg. For 40-50 minutes.
f. Charge 0.1-4 % of SLS Needles and 0.001 - 0.5 % of CAPB under continuous
stirring and homogenizing into the mixer and mix under vacuum at 600-
700mmHg for 20 minutes to avoid lump formation followed by cooling.
g. Charge NaOH Solution (0.001-0.05% of NaOH in 0.001-0.05% of water) into
main mixer under continuous stirring at 60-70 degree C for about 15-20 minutes.
h. Charge 0.001 -0.03% of sungold MP 29 into main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing.
i. Charge pre-dissolve 0.01 - 10 % by weight of Anar Chilka extract in Propylene Glycol and 0.001 - 0.3% by weight of Mulethi root extract in Propylene glycol one by one into main mixer under continuous stirring & mixing.
j. Prepare flavor premix by charging of 0.01 - 3% by weight of Hydrogenated Castor Oil (RH-40) into side pot and stirring followed by addition of 0.001 - 3% by weight of Laung oil, 0.001 - 5% of Badi elachi oil, 0.03 - 5 % by weight of Zinger oil, 0.03 - 5% by weight of Black pepper oil, 0.001 - 5 % by weight of Anise oil, 0.01 - 5 % of Dal chini oil, 0.001 - 0.40 % of Salidine, 0.001 - 0.05% by weight of Vitamin E, 0.0001 - 5 % by weight of Divyadhara, 0.01 - 2% of flavor optament fresh and flavor Active key one by one and mix well. Add 0.0001 - 3% by weight menthol crystal and mix till dissolve. Now charge 0.01 - 0.5% by weight of CPC and dissolve properly. After complete mixing filter the bulk and transfer into main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing.
k. The composition is then transferred for the quality control testing and filing into the tooth paste tubes.

The herbal composition for oral care and a process for the preparation thereof is illustrated herein below with the help of the following example.
Example -1
i. Charge 8kg of process water into a steam jacketed main vessel and heat it to a temperature in the range of 70 °C. Add 60kg Sorbitol-70%, 0.4 kg sodium saccharin, 0.5 kg zinc sulfate, 2.5 kg potassium citrate, 4 kg propendiol & 2 kg PEG-1500 under continuous stirring and homogenizing, stir the above mixture for 55 - 65 minutes at 65 - 85 °C,
ii. Prepare slurry of 0.5 kg Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (SCMC) in 4 kg Glycerin and charge the same into main mixture (step 1) under continuous stirring, mixing & homogenizing and mix further till complete dissolution of the ingredients.
iii. Charge pre-dissolve colour solution (0.007 Ponceu 4R (CI 16255) in 0.4 kg process water) into the main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing at 60 - 80 degree C.
iv. Charge premix of 0.4kg of Asphatic bhasm, 0.4 kg Tankan bhasm and 0.6 kg Tri sodium ortho phosphate with 3kg process water. Filtered (120 #) one by one and charge into main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing under vacuum at 600-700mmHg for 20 - 30 minutes.
v. Charge 8kg of PPt Silica, 0.5kg of Viscarin TP, 6kg Absil 100, 0.3kg sodium Fluoride (NaF), 0.7kg Plura Care under continuous stirring, mixing and homogenizing. Adjust the speed of scrapper (1000-1200), homogenizer (2500-2800) and Anchor (1100-1300) during addition of powder phase. Add powder phase into 3-5 steps. Adjust the speed of anchor as per required. Mix under vacuum at 600-700mmHg. For 40-50 minutes.

vi. Charge 3kg of SLS Needles and 0.5kg Coco amido propyl betain (CAPB) under continuous stirring and homogenizing into the mixer and mix under vacuum at 600-700mmHg for 20 minutes to avoid lump formation and subject the same to the step of cooling.
vii. Charge sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution (0.006kg of NaOH in water) into main mixer under continuous stirring at 60 - 70 degree C for about 15-20 minutes.
viii. Charge 0.03kg sungold MP 29 into main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing.
ix. Charge pre-dissolve 0.2kg Anar Chilka extract in Propylene Glycol and 0.04kg Mulethi root extract in Propylene glycol one by one into main mixer under continuous stirring & mixing.
x. Prepare flavor premix by charging of 4kg of Hydrogenated Castor Oil (RH-40) into side pot under stirring followed by addition of 0.05kg Laung oil, 0.05kg Badielachi oil, 0.05kg Zinger oil, 0.05kg Black pepper oil, 0.05kg Anise oil, 0.05kg Dal chini oil, 0.4kg Salidine, 0.02 Vitamin E, 0.4kg Divyadhara, 1.5kg flavor optament fresh and flavor Active key one by one and mix well. Add 0.2kg menthol crystal and mix till dissolve. Now charge 0.02kg CPC and dissolve properly. After complete mixing filter the bulk and transfer into main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing.
xi. The composition is then transferred for the quality control testing and filing
into the tooth paste tubes, xii. The composition so obtained is checked for the quality control and the filled into the tooth paste tubes.

Certain features of the invention have been described with reference to the example embodiments. However, the description is not intended to be construed in a limiting sense. Various modifications of the example embodiments as well as other embodiments of the invention, which are apparent to the persons skilled in the art to which the invention pertains, are deemed to lie within the spirit and scope of the invention.

We claim:
1. An herbal composition for oral care comprises 0.01 - 10 % by weight Anar chhilka Extract, 0.001 - 3 % by weight Mulethi root extract, 0.001 - 3 % by weight Laung bud oil, 0.001 - 5 % by weight Badi elachi oil, 0.03 - 5 % by weight Zinger rhizome oil, 0.03 - 5 % by weight Black pepper oil, 0.001 - 5 % by weight Anise oil, 0.01 - 5% by weight Dal chini oil, 0.0001 - 3 % by weight Menthol crystal, 0.0001 - 5 % by weight Divyadhara, 0.1 - 0.5 % by weight Asphatic bhasma, 0.1 - 0.8 % by weight Tankan Bhasma, 4 - 8 % by weight Glycerin, 0.01- 0.5% by weight Cetyl Pyridinium chloride (CPC), 5 -65% by weight Sorbitol, 1 - 5 % by weight Polyethylene Glycol - 1500 (PEG -1500), 0.01 - 0.07% by weight Sodium saccharin, 0.01 - 0.7% by weight Tri Sodium Ortho Phosphate (TSOP.12H20), 0.01 - 0.08% by weight Sodium fluoride, 1 -9 % by weight M.Phil (PPt. 2. A process for the preparation of an herbal composition for oral care comprising;
a. Charging 4 to 8 % by weight process water into a steam jacketed main
vessel, adding 5-65 % by weight of Sorbitol-70%, 0.01 - 0.07 % by weight
of sodium saccharin, 0.001 - 0.80% by weight of zinc sulfate, 0.01 - 35%

by weight potassium citrate, 0.01 - 4 % by weight of propendiol & 1 - 5 % Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) -1500 under continuous stirring and homogenizing,
b. Preparing a slurry of 0.01 - 0.08% Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose
(SCMC) in 4 - 8 % by weight Glycerin and charge the same into main
mixture (Step a) under continuous stirring, mixing & homogenizing and mix
further till complete dissolution of the ingredients.
c. Charging pre-dissolve colour solution (0.0001-0.007% Ponceu 4R (CI
16255) in process water) into the main mixer under continuous stirring and
mixing at 60 - 80 degree C.
d. Charging a premix of 0.1 - 0.5% by weight of Asphatic bhasm, 0.1 - 0.8%
of Tankan bhasm and 0.01 - 0.7% of Tri sodium ortho phosphate (TSOP)
with 1 - 5% by weight of process water, filtering the premix through a sieve
of (120#) one by one and charge it into main mixer under continuous stirring,
mixing and vacuum at 600-700mmHg for 20-30 minutes.
e. Charging 1 - 9 % by weight of M. Phil (PPt Silica), 0.001-0.4% of Viscarin
TP, 1 - 8% weight Absil 100 (PPt. Silica 100), 0.01 - 0.08% of sodium
Fluoride (NaF), 0.001 - 0.06% by weight of Plura Care under continuous
stirring, mixing and homogenizing.
f. Adjusting speed of scrapper at 1000 - 1200 rpm, homogenizer at 2500 -
2800 rpm and Anchor at 1100 - 1300 and adding the powder phase into the
mixture in 3 - 5 steps under vacuum at 600-700mmHg for 40 - 50 minutes.
g. Charging 0.1-4 % of SLS Needles and 0.001 - 0.5 % of CAPB into the
mixer under continuous stirring and vacuum at 600-700mmHg for 20
minutes to avoid lump formation followed by cooling.

h. Charging NaOH solution (0.001-0.05% of NaOH in 0.001-0.05% of water) into main mixer under continuous stirring at 60 - 70 degree C for about 15-20 minutes.
i. Charging 0.001 -0.03% of sungold MP 29 into main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing.
j. Charging pre-dissolve 0.01 - 10 % by weight of Anar Chilka extract in Propylene Glycol and 0.001 - 0.3% by weight of Mulethi root extract in Propylene glycol one by one into main mixer under continuous stirring & mixing.
k. Preparing a flavor premix by charging of 0.01- 3% by weight of Hydrogenated Castor Oil (RH-40) into side pot and stirring followed by addition of 0.001 - 3% by weight of Laung oil, 0.001 - 5% of Badi elachi oil, 0.03 - 5 % by weight of Zinger oil, 0.03 - 5% by weight of Black pepper oil, 0.001 - 5 % by weight of Anise oil, 0.01 - 5 % of Dal chini oil, 0.001 - 0.40 % of Salidine, 0.001 -0.05% by weight of Vitamin E, 0.0001 -5 % by weight of Divyadhara, 0.01 - 2% of flavor optament fresh and flavor Active key one by one and mix well, and adding 0.0001 - 3% by weight menthol crystal, adding 0.01 - 0.5% by weight of CPC and dissolve it properly in the mixture and the transferring the bulk into main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing.
I. Testing the composition for the quality control and filing the same into the tooth paste tubes for use by the users. 3. The process for the preparation of a composition for oral care as claimed in
claim 1, wherein the mixture of step (a) is stirred at a temperature of 65 - 85
°C for a period of 55 - 65 minutes.

4. The process for the preparation of a composition for oral care as claimed in claim 3, wherein the mixture of step (k) is stirred till the menthol crystals are dissolved properly in the mixture.
