FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to herbal composition for oral care and a process for the preparation thereof. Particularly this invention relates to a novel herbal composition for oral care, and a process for the preparation of the herbal composition for oral care.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
A number of tooth paste are as such known in the prior art for cleaning the tooth. Even the herbal tooth paste compositions are known in the prior art for cleaning the tooth. A herbal additive is disclosed in the US patent application no. 5294434A, which comprises a mixture of aloe vera and chlorophyll, the aloe vera-chlorophyll mixture being at least 1.5% by weight of the total composition mixture and the chlorophyll in the total composition mixture being at least 0.09% by weight.
Another natural toothpaste is disclosed in the US patent no. 9114097 which comprises 27 wt. % coconut oil, 16.66 wt. % stevia; 41.66 wt. % baking soda; 6.94 wt. % vegetable glycerin; and 6.94 wt. % peppermint extract.
There are disadvantages associated with the conventional tooth pastes known in the prior art. One of the disadvantages is that conventional tooth paste are not suitable for complete oral care.
Another disadvantages is that the convention tooth paste are not capable to keep oral cleanness and freshness for a long time.
Therefore, there is a need to develop an herbal tooth paste comprising aloe vera and other efficacious natural and active herbs for oral care.
OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide an herbal composition for oral care which obviates the disadvantages associated with the prior art.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an herbal composition for oral care which is safe to use.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide an herbal composition for oral care which do not have any adverse effect the teeth and gums.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide an herbal composition for oral care which can be prepared in the form of paste, powder, gel, liquid and / or crystal.
A further object of the present invention is to provide a process for the preparation of herbal composition for oral care.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
According to this invention there is provided an herbal composition for oral care and a process for the preparation thereof. The herbal composition comprises 45 – 65 % by weight sorbitol, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Aloevera leaf extract (PG), 0.01 – 1 % by weight Pudina sat, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Laung bud oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Badi Elachi oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Dal chini oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Tulsi oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Apamarg plant extract (PG), 0.01 – 1% by weight Kantkari plant extract (PG), 0.01 – 1 % by weight Mulethi root extract (PG), 0.01 – 1 % by weight Neem bark extract (PG), 0.01 – 1 % by weight Mishwak stem extract (PG), 0.01 – 1 % by weight Nutmeg oil, 0.01 – 13 % by weight Ajwain sat, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Zinger oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Divyadhara, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Asphatic bhasma, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Tankana Bhasma, 3 – 5 % by weight Glycerin, 01 – 1 % by weight Sod. Saccharin, 0.1 – 1 % Zinc sulfate, 1 – 2.5 % by weight Potassium citrate, 0.2 – 2 % by weight Tri sodium ortho phosphate (TSOP)12 H2O, 1 – 2 % by weight Propane diol, 1 – 2 % by weight Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) 1500, 0.1 – 1 % by weight Aphatic Bhasma; 0.1 – 1 % by weight Tankana Bhasma, 6 – 8 % by weight M.Fil (PPt Silica), 6 – 9 % by weight PPt Silica-100, 0.3 – 0.8 PPt Silica-200, 0.3 – 0.9 % by weight Plura care, 2 – 3.5 % Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) needle, 3 – 5 % weight Coco amido propyl betain (CAPB), 0.01 – 1 % by weight Active key (Blend of Fragrances & Essential Oils), 0.01 – 1 % by weight Salidine (Chlorohexidine gluconate), 0.01 – 1 % by weight Vitamin E, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Cetyl Pyridinium Chloride (CPC), 0.01 – 2 % by weight Flavour Aloe fresh gel, and 3 – 5 % by weight RH – 40 (Hydrogenated Castor Oil).
Further according to invention there is provided a process for the preparation of an herbal composition for oral care which comprises;
1. Adding water 5 – 10 % of Process Water into main mixer and heating the same at a temperature of 55 – 850 C. 45 – 65 % by weight sorbitol-70%, 3 – 5 % by weight Glycerin, 1 – 2 % by weight Polyethylene Glycol-1500, 0.2 – 2 % by weight Tri sodium ortho phosphate (TSOP)12 H2O, 01 – 1 % by weight Sod. Saccharin, 0.1 – 1 % Zinc sulfate, 1 – 2.5 % by weight Potassium citrate, and 1 – 2 % by weight Propane diol, are then added into the mixer under continuous stirring and vacuum (500-800mmHg) for a period of 25 to 35 minutes, so as to obtain a homogenous mixture.
2. 0.1 – 1 % by weight Asphatic Bhasma; 0.1 – 1 % by weight Tankana Bhasma are added into the process water and a premix is obtained after filtering the solution through a sieve of (120#). The premix is added into main mixer under continuous stirring and vacuum at 500-800mmHg, for 20-30 minutes at the temperature of 55 – 850 C.
3. Adding pre dissolve color solution (0.002 % Quinoline yellow & 0.0005 % brill blue colour in 0.3 % of Water) into main mixer under continuous stirring and vacuum at 500-800mmHg at the same temperature for 5 - 30 minutes.
4. Adding 6 – 8 % by weight PPt Silica, Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (SCMC), Viscarin TP (Carrageenan-TP), 6 – 9 % by weight Absil 100 (PPt. Silica-100), sodium Fluoride (NaF), 0.3 – 0.8 Absil (PPt. Silica-200), 0.3 – 0.9 % by weight Plura care (natural mica and titanium dioxide) under continuous stirring, mixing and homogenizing.
5. Adjust the speed of scrapper in the rage of 1000 – 1200 rpm, homogenizer in the range of 2500 – 2800 rpm and Anchor in the range of 1100 – 1300 rpm during addition of powder phase. The Powder phase (of above step 2 - 4) is added into 3 - 5 steps. Adjust the speed of anchor as per the requirement and Mix under vacuum at 600-700mmHg for 40 – 50 minutes at the temperature of 55 – 850 C.
6. Add 2 – 3.5 % Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) needle and Coco amido propyl betain (CAPB) under continuous stirring, mixing and vacuum at 500-800mmHg for 20 to 30 minutes at 50 – 800C to prepare base for the toothpaste without having lump.
7. Add a carrier, for example, snow flake MP 99 into main mixer under continuous stirring.
8. Add pre dissolve Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) solution into main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing.
9. Add pre dissolve filtered herbal ext solution (Propylene Glycol extract of 0.10% Aloevera leaf, 0.01% Apamarg plant, 0.01% of Kantakari plant, 0.01% of Mulethi root, 0.01% of Neem Bark & 0.01% of Mishwak stem extract) into main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing at 45-50 0C.
10. Prepare flavor premix by adding Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Ricinus communis oil) into another mixer under stirring. Add 0.01 – 1 % by weight Laung oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Badi Elachi oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Zinger oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Tulsi oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Nutmeg oil, 0.01 – 13 % by weight Ajwain sat, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Dal chini oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Salidine, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Vitamin E, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Divyadhara, 0.01 – 2 % by weight Flavour Aloe fresh gel, and 0.01 – 1 % by weight Active key (Blend of Fragrances & Essential Oils) one by one and mix well. Add 0.03 % by weight menthol (5-Methyl-2-(propane-2-yl) cyclohexan-1-ol) crystal into and mix under stirring till its dissolution. Now add 0.01 – 1 % by weight Cetyl Pyridinium Chloride (CPC) in the mixer and dissolve it properly.
11. Filter the bulk and transferring the same into the main mixer under continuous stirring at a temperature of 25 – 50 0C and mix it for 10 – 40 minutes to obtain the herbal composition for oral care.
12. The composition so obtained is checked for QC and then filled into tooth paste tubes.
The herbal composition for oral care and a process for the preparation thereof is herein described in the following examples.

Example – 1
i. 7 liter process water was added into a main mixer and heating to a temperature of 700 C. 45 kg sorbitol 70%, 3 kg Glycerin, 1kg PEG-1500, 0.2 kg Tri sodium ortho phosphate (TSOP) 12 H2O, 0.1 kg Sod. Saccharin, 0.1 kg zinc sulfate, 1 kg Potassium citrate, and 1 kg Propane diol, are then added into the mixer under continuous stirring and vacuum (650mmHg) for a period of 30 minutes, so as to obtain a homogenous mixture.
ii. 0.1 kg Asphatic Bhasma; 0.1 kg Tankana Bhasma are added into the process water and a premix is obtained after filtering the solution through a sieve of (120#). The entire premix is added into main mixer under continuous stirring and vacuum at 650mmHg, for 25 minutes at the temperature of 70 0C.
iii. Adding pre dissolve color solution (0.002% Quinoline yellow & 0.0005% brill blue colour in 0.3% of Water) into main mixer under continuous stirring and vacuum at 650mmHg at the same temperature for 20 minutes.
iv. Adding 5 kg by weight PPt Silica, Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (SCMC), Viscarin TP (Carrageenan TP), 5kg Absil 100 (PPt Silica-100), Sodium fluoride, 0.3 kg Absil – 200 (PPt.Silica-200), 0.3 kg Plura care (Poloxamer 407) under continuous stirring, mixing and homogenizing.
v. Adjust the speed of scrapper at 1100 rpm, homogenizer at 2650 rpm and Anchor at 1200 rpm during addition of powder phase. The Powder phase as above is added into 4 steps. Adjust the speed of anchor as per the requirement and Mix under vacuum at 650mmHg for 45 minutes at a temperature of 70 0C .
vi. Now add 2.5 kg SLS Needle and 0.3 Kg CAPB under continuous stirring, mixing and vacuum at 650mmHg for 25 minutes at 650C to prepare base for the toothpaste without having lump.
vii. Add snow flake MP 99, as carrier, into main mixer under continuous stirring.
viii. Add pre dissolve sodium hydroxide (NaOH) (0.0055% of NaOH in 0.010% of water) solution into main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing.
ix. Add pre dissolve filtered herbal ext. solution (Propylene Glycol extract of 0.10% Aloevera leaf, 0.01% Apamarg plant, 0.01% of Kantakari plant, 0.01% of Mulethi root, 0.01% of Neem Bark & 0.01% of Mishwak stem extract) into main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing at 47 0C.
x. Prepare flavor premix by adding 3.5 kg Hydrogenated Castor Oil (ricinus communis) into another mixer under stirring. Add, 0.01 kg Laung oil, 0.01 kg Badi Elachi oil, 0.01 kg Zinger oil, 0.01 kg Tulsi oil, 0.01 kg Nutmeg oil, 0.01 kg Ajwain sat, 0.01 kg Dal chini oil, 0.01 kg Salidine, 0.01 kg Vitamin E, 0.01 kg Divyadhara, 0.01 kg Flavour Aloe fresh gel, and 0.01 kg flavor Active key (Blend of fragrance & essential oils) one by one and mix well. Add 0.01 kg menthol (5-Methyl-2-(propan-2-yl) cyclohexan-1-ol) crystal into and mix under stirring till it dissolution. Now add 0.01 kg Cetyl Pyridinum Chloride (CPC) in the mixer and dissolve it properly.
xi. Filter the bulk and transferring the same into the main mixer under continuous stirring at a temperature of 40 0C and mix it for 20 minutes to obtain the herbal composition for oral care.
The composition so obtained is checked for QC and then filled into tooth paste tubes.
Example – 2
a. 6 litre process water was added into a main mixer and heating to a temperature of 70 0C. 58 kg sorbitol 70%, 3 kg Glycerin, 1.6 kg PEG-1500, 0.4 kg Tri sodium ortho phosphate (TSOP)12 H2O, 0.5 kg Sod. Saccharin, 0.5 kg zinc sulfate, 2 kg Potassium citrate, and 1.6 kg Propane diol, are then added into the mixer under continuous stirring and vacuum (650mmHg) for a period of 30 minutes, so as to obtain a homogenous mixture.
b. 0.5 kg Asphatic Bhasma; 0.5 kg Tankana Bhasma are added into the process water and a premix is obtained after filtering the solution through a sieve of (120#). The entire quantity of above premix is added into main mixer under continuous stirring and vacuum at 650mmHg, for 25 minutes at the temperature of 700 C.
c. Adding pre dissolve color solution (0.002% Quinoline yellow & 0.0005% brill blue colour in 0.3% of Water) into main mixer under continuous stirring and vacuum at 650mmHg at the same temperature for 20 minutes.
d. Adding 7 kg by weight PPt Silica, Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (SCMC), Viscarin TP (Carrageenan), 6.02 kg Absil -100 (Precipitated Silica), Sodium Fluoride (NaF), 0.3 kg Absil – 200 (Precipitated Silica), 0.9 kg Plura care (Poloxamer 407) under continuous stirring, mixing and homogenizing.
e. Adjust the speed of scrapper in the rage of 1100 rpm, homogenizer in the range of 2650 rpm and Anchor in the range of 1200 rpm during addition of powder phase. The Powder phase (of above ingredients) is added into 4 steps. Adjust the speed of anchor as per the requirement and Mix under vacuum at 650mmHg for 45 minutes at the same temperature.
f. Now add 3 kg SLS Needles (for what, pl. elaborate) and 0.3 Kg CAPB under continuous stirring, mixing and vacuum at 650mmHg for 25 minutes at 650C so that no lump is formed.
g. Add snow flake MP 99 (Carrier) into main mixer under continuous stirring.
h. Add pre dissolve Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) (0.0055% NaOH in 0.010% of process water) solution into main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing.
i. Add pre dissolve filtered herbal ext. solution into main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing at 47 0C.
j. Prepare flavor premix by adding 3.5 kg Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Ricinus communis) into another mixer under stirring. Add, 0.01 kg Laung oil, (Syzygium aromaticum), 0.01 kg Badi Elachi oil, (Elettaria cardamomum) 0.01 kg Zinger oil (Zingiber officinale), 0.01 kg Tulsi oil (Ocimum Sanctum), 0.01 kg Nutmeg oil (Myristica fragrans), 0.01 kg Ajwain sat (Trachyspermum ammi), 0.01 kg Dal chini oil (Cinnamomum verum), 1 kg Salidine (Chlorhexidine Gluconate), 0.5 kg Vitamin E, 0.01 kg Divyadhara, 0.01 kg Flavour Aloe fresh gel, and 1 kg flavor Active key one by one and mix well. Add 0.03 kg menthol crystal into and mix under stirring till it dissolution. Now add 0.3 kg CPC in the mixer and dissolve it properly,
k. Filter the bulk and transferring the same into the main mixer under continuous stirring at a temperature of 40 0C and mix it for 20 minutes to obtain the herbal composition for oral care.
The composition so obtained is checked for QC and then filled into tooth paste tubes.
Certain features of the invention have been described with reference to the example embodiments. However, the description is not intended to be construed in a limiting sense. Various modifications of the example embodiments as well as other embodiments of the invention, which are apparent to the persons skilled in the art to which the invention pertains, are deemed to lie within the spirit and scope of the invention.

We claim:
1. An herbal composition for oral care comprising comprises 45 – 65 % by weight sorbitol, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Aloevera leaf extract (PG), 0.01 – 1 % by weight Pudina sat, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Laung bud oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Badi Elachi oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Dal chini oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Tulsi oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Apamarg plant extract (PG), 0.01 – 1% by weight Kantkari plant extract (PG), 0.01 – 1 % by weight Mulethi root extract (PG), 0.01 – 1 % by weight Neem bark extract (PG), 0.01 – 1 % by weight Mishwak stem extract (PG), 0.01 – 1 % by weight Nutmeg oil, 0.01 – 13 % by weight Ajwain sat, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Zinger oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Divyadhara, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Asphatic bhasma, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Tankana Bhasma, 3 – 5 % by weight Glycerin, 01 – 1 % by weight Sod. 2. A process for the preparation of a herbal composition for oral care comprising;
a. Adding water 5 – 10 % of Process Water into main mixer and heating the same at a temperature of 55 – 850 C. 45 – 65 % by weight sorbitol-70%, 3 – 5 % by weight Glycerin, 1 – 2 % by weight Polyethylene Glycol-1500, 0.2 – 2 % by weight Tri sodium ortho phosphate (TSOP)12 H2O, 01 – 1 % by weight Sod. Saccharin, 0.1 – 1 % Zinc sulfate, 1 – 2.5 % by weight Potassium citrate, and 1 – 2 % by weight Propane diol, are then added into the mixer under continuous stirring and vacuum (500-800mmHg) for a period of 25 to 35 minutes, so as to obtain a homogenous mixture,
b. Adding 0.1 – 1 % by weight Asphatic Bhasma; 0.1 – 1 % by weight Tankana Bhasma into the process water and a premix is obtained after filtering the solution through a sieve of (120#). The premix is added into main mixer under continuous stirring and vacuum at 500-800mmHg, for 20-30 minutes at the temperature of 55 – 850 C,
c. Adding pre dissolve color solution into main mixer under continuous stirring and vacuum at 500-800mmHg at the same temperature for 5 - 30 minutes,
d. Adding 6 – 8 % by weight PPt Silica, Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (SCMC), Viscarin TP (Carrageenan-TP), 6 – 9 % by weight Absil 100 (PPt. Silica-100), sodium Fluoride (NaF), 0.3 – 0.8 Absil (PPt. Silica-200), 0.3 – 0.9 % by weight Plura care (natural mica and titanium dioxide) under continuous stirring, mixing and homogenizing,
e. Adjusting speed of scrapper in the rage of 1000 – 1200 rpm, homogenizer in the range of 2500 – 2800 rpm and Anchor in the range of 1100 – 1300 rpm during addition of powder phase. The Powder phase (of above step 2 - 4) is added into 3 - 5 steps. Adjust the speed of anchor as per the requirement and Mix under vacuum at 600-700mmHg for 40 – 50 minutes at the temperature of 55 – 850 C,
f. Adding 2 – 3.5 % Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) needle and Coco amido propyl betain (CAPB) under continuous stirring, mixing and vacuum at 500-800mmHg for 20 to 30 minutes at 50 – 800C to prepare base for the toothpaste without having lump,
g. Adding a carrier (snow flake MP 99) into main mixer under continuous stirring,
h. Adding pre dissolve Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) solution into main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing,
i. Adding pre dissolve filtered herbal ext solution (Propylene Glycol extract of 0.10% Aloevera leaf, 0.01% Apamarg plant, 0.01% of Kantakari plant, 0.01% of Mulethi root, 0.01% of Neem Bark & 0.01% of Mishwak stem extract) into main mixer under continuous stirring and mixing at 45-50 0C,
j. Preparing flavor premix by adding Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Ricinus communis oil) into another mixer under stirring and adding 0.01 – 1 % by weight Laung oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Badi Elachi oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Zinger oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Tulsi oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Nutmeg oil, 0.01 – 13 % by weight Ajwain sat, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Dal chini oil, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Salidine, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Vitamin E, 0.01 – 1 % by weight Divyadhara, 0.01 – 2 % by weight Flavour Aloe fresh gel, and 0.01 – 1 % by weight Active key (Blend of Fragrances & Essential Oils) one by one and mix well, adding 0.03 % by weight menthol (5-Methyl-2-(propane-2-yl) cyclohexan-1-ol) crystal into and mix under stirring till its dissolution. Now add 0.01 – 1 % by weight Cetyl Pyridinium Chloride (CPC) in the mixer and dissolve it properly.
k. Filtering the bulk and transferring the same into the main mixer under continuous stirring at a temperature of 25 – 50 0C and mix it for 10 – 40 minutes to obtain the herbal composition for oral care.
l. The composition so obtained is checked for QC and then filled into tooth paste tubes.
3. The process for the preparation of an herbal composition for oral care as claimed in claim 2, wherein the step of stirring is carried on under vacuum (500-800mmHg) for a period of 25 to 35 minutes at a temperature of 55 to 85 0C.
4. The process for the preparation of an herbal composition for oral care as claimed in claim 2, wherein the colour solution comprises approx. 0.002 % Quinoline yellow and approx. 0.0005 % brill blue colour in 0.3 % of water.
