Field of the invention:
The present invention relates to a herbal hair oil which can be used for healthy growth of hair, hair loss and for treatment of damaged hair.

Background of the invention:
Hair loss is a common occurrence in both men and women with a number of contributing factors. Although a variety of medical treatments for hair loss are widely available, they are often expensive and come with a long list of potential side effects.
Ayurveda, the ancient Indian healing system, views hair loss as a symptom of the entire body's imbalance resulting from poor diet, stress, fatigue, smoking or excessive drinking. A number of Indian remedies using various herbs are available which stop hair loss and encourage new growth. The most common remedies for hair treatment are Herbal hair oils. Massaging these hair oils into the scalp enhances hair growth and helps to stimulate blood flow. They strengthen the hair and revitalize follicles so the hair grows faster and longer.
In Ayurveda, it is believed that loss of strongness of hair roots can be due to vitiated vata and pitta doshas which result in hair loss. Vata dosha is a combination of air and space and dominates the lower part of the body and accounts for the regulation of body functions and metabolism. Any vitiation in vata in the body can lead to several diseases like constipation, anxiety, dry skin, insomnia and cramps. Pitta dosha is characterized as the energy of digestion and metabolism. It represents the fire element in the body that helps in digestion and other metabolic activities. Any imbalance in pitta leads to high blood pressure, acidity, diarrhea, food allergies, insomnia, fevers, inflammatory diseases, heart problems, skin problems, jaundice, mouth ulcers, skin rashes, digestive disorders, hair loss, bad body odour, skin rashes, boils, acne, ulcers, weakness, fever and eye problems. Also due to vitiated kapha dosha and rakta dhatu, shrotorodh i.e. obstruction takes place in the flow of blood to the hair roots and it stops nourishment of hair. Kapha is a combination of water and earth element and is responsible for governing the lubrication and structure of the body. It holds all the cells together and forms the

muscles, bones, cells and sinew to give a basis for physical structure. Kapha dosha possess heavy, slow, solid, cold, soft and oily qualities. Any imbalance in kapha is characterized by lethargy, dull thinking, greediness, depression, slow reaction, drowsiness, obesity, congestion in throat and nose, nausea, diabetes, fever, edema, indigestion, pain in joints, high cholesterol levels, sinus, hay fever, gallbladder disorders, and several respiratory problems like asthma and wheezing. While rakta dhatu refers to the primary fire of the body with main reference to the blood, the health of rakta dhatu plays an important role in the health of pitta dosha.

In today's fast moving world, people have great stress and tension due to pressure from both professional as well as personal fronts. This leads to fatigue, sleeplessness, improper consumption of food, indigestion etc. All these factors also affect the hair of people. Due to stress, cases of hair fall and graying of hair at an early age are common.
Ayurveda, the medicine system practiced in India since ages, has shown in details the causes of hair fall and graying of hair and has given various medications in the forms of various herbs to be used for improving the quantity, quality and texture of hair along with granting relief from stress, tension and sleeplessness.
Ayurveda believes that loss of strongness of hair roots is due to vitiated vata and pitta doshas which results in hair loss. Moreover due to vitiated kapha dosha and the shrototodh i.e the obstruction of rakta dhatu to the roots of the hair, nourishment of hair stops and hair starts falling and graying prematurely. Due to increasing vitiated pitta dosha, graying of hair takes place. Ayurveda also has a solution to all these problems in its various herbs.
The present invention is a herbal hair care oil which stops the falling and graying of hair as well as gives relief from stress, tension and sleeplessness. It also

improves the quality of hair by providing good growth of hair making them smooth and silky.
The present invention comprises of some or all of the mentioned herbs namely Amalaki (Embiica officinalis), Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia), Bhringraj (Eclipta alba), Japakusum (Hibiscus rosa), Shankhpushpi (Convolvulus pluricaulis), Brahmi (Bacopa monnieria), Priyangu (Callicarpa macrophylla), Bibhitaki (Terminalia belerica), Nirgundi (Vitex negundo) and Musta (Cyperus rotundus) mixed in sesame oil and coconut oil along with the addition of cow's milk. Initially, all the above mentioned herbs are dried, crushed and passed through 80 mesh stainless steel sieve.
The herbal hair oil for hair growth and treatment contains 5 gm Amalaki (Embiica officinalis), 3 gm Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia), 3 gm Bhringraj (Eclipta alba), 2 gm Japakusum (Hibiscus rosa), 2 gm Shankhpushpi (Convolvulus pluricaulis), 2 gm Brahmi (Bacopa monnieria), 2gm Priyangu (Callicarpa macrophylla), 2gm Bibhitaki (Terminalia belerica), 2gm Nirgundi (Vitex negundo) and 2gm Musta (Cyperus rotundus) per 100 ml of hair oil. In addition to the above mentioned herbs 25 ml Gokshir (Cow milk) is added in 100 ml oil containing 25 % Narikel tail (Cocunut oil) and 75% Teel oil (Sesame oil) as base oils. Aroma is added for providing fragrance to the oil.
