High Level Syntax For Immersive Video Coding
Abstract: Techniques related to coding immersive video including multiple texture and depth views of a scene are discussed. Such techniques include reducing the bit-depth of a depth view using a piece-wise linear mapping prior to encode, inverse mapping a decoded low bit-depth depth view to the high bit-depth using the piece-wise linear mapping, and efficiently encoding and decoding camera parameters corresponding to the immersive video.
