High Pressure Vibration Pumps Using Piezo Electric Materials

Abstract: In this invention a high pressure vibration pump is made using ultra sonic transducers made up of piezo electric substances. This pump consists of piezo electric material coated diaphragm or plate. Piezo electric material vibrates when the electricity or other vibration causing forces are applied to it. These vibrations in the coated diaphragm or plat will create pressure on the other side of the diaphragm. This surface can be connected to a chamber fluid or air flow takes place, or connected to piston cylinders type of arrangements, etc This motor less pump can operate with both AC and DC current and finds its application in aeronautical pumps, Reverse osmosis pumps, air compressors, air condition compressors and other fluid pumps. Also the size of this pump is drastically reduced.

Summary:

In the summary of invention, each important salient feature is explained as follows:

1. In this method of invention a specially designed silicone rubber material or any similar materials will be made in required thickness in order to withstand high speed vibrations without damage.

2. This material is coated as a thin film layer with piezoelectric materials either by gluing with cyanoacrylate type of adhesives or with sputter diffusion.

3. This material is also coated with graphite powder to provide a electric conductive medium for electrical conduction.

4. When external current at required voltages and when minimum wattage is applied, piezoelectric crystal oscillates with high speeds to an extent of even more than 50,000 revolutions per minute.

5. These vibrations may also be induced with the help of external mechanical forces, sound waves, or any other type pressures avoiding complete consumption of electricity.

6. With these vibrations the silicone rubber acts as a diaphragm to push any liquid or air present on the other side of its surface.

7. The silicone rubber can be attached to piston cylinder or rock and pinion or any other kind of mechanical arrangements that are used in pumping.

8. In this system pumping is done without use of external motors or coils etc and can be considered as motor-less technology.

4. Description

In this method of invention a specially designed silicone rubber material will be prepared in required thickness so as to withstand high speed of vibrations without damage. This material is provided with required thickness of piezoelectric materials like quartz, Rochelle salts, lead titanium zircon ate (PZT), and barium salts etc, as a layer either by gluing with cyanoacrylate type of adhesives or with sputter diffusion. This material is also coated with graphite powder which will provide a conductive medium to apply electricity.

When external current at required voltages and minimum wattage is applied, piezoelectric crystal oscillates or vibrates with high speeds to an extent of more than 50,000 revolutions per minute. These vibrations may also be induced with the help of external mechanical forces, sound waves, or any other type pressures avoiding complete consumption of electricity. In such conditions the silicone rubber acts as a diaphragm to push any liquid present on the other side of its surface. This silicone rubber can be attached to piston cylinder or rock and pinion or any other kind of mechanical arrangements that are used in pumping. In this system pumping is done without use of external motors or coils etc and can be considered as motor-less technology.

Background of invention

In the present system pumping where fluids, liquids, gases or air pumping is required, different type of pumps based on piston cylinder, impeller based, rock and pinion, rotary wherein system pumping are practiced. But these type of systems are requiring external motor for providing rotations using high horse-power. The present invention is to completely avoid usage of motors and consumption of higher electricity to completely redefine pumping systems. These type of systems can be designed at any small size and vibrations can be designed as per custom built to any amount of rpm. These kind of systems find applications in various fields like domestic, industrial, fluid pumping, vacuum systems, etc.

5. Claims

1. We claim that the coating of piezoelectric material thin film layer over silicone kind of rubber causes vibrations in it which can be used for construction of motor-less pumps.

2. We claim that mechanical vibrations in silicone diaphragm can be achieved not only with electricity but also with external mechanical forces, sound waves, or any other type pressures avoiding complete consumption of electricity.

3. We claim that this method of vibrations as mentioned in claim 1, can be used in designing pumps for liquids, gases, slurries, oils in different applications of industry.

4. We claim that this method of vibrations as mentioned in claim 1, using little power source pacemaker kind of medical equipments can be synthesized.

5. We claim that this method of vibrations as mentioned in claim 1, nano movement of particles can be achieved.

6. We claim that this method of vibrations as mentioned in claim 1, can be employed in making of vacuum systems.

7. We claim that in this method of vibrations as mentioned in claim 1, the vibrating or oscillating diaphragm or plate surface can be connected to a chamber where fluid or air flow takes place, or can be connected to piston cylinders type of arrangements, or any other type of existing pumping or evacuation systems to eliminate usage of motors connected.
