"High Speed Burr Free Cold Cut Off Carriage Saw Machine"

Abstract: High speed burr free cold cutoff carriage saw to use in line for pipe cutting with conventional and high speed tube mills with least burrs and perfect square cuts without any dimple.. Eco friendly machine has been designed to offer least per cut cost as it consumes very low power and offers number cuts before re sharpening of HSS saw blades. For thick wall and tough steel tubes, TCT saws blades can be used. Highly user friendly computer program needs very few data to enter by mill operator with fool proof and fault diagnostic features. Machine has been designed to keep minimum inertia load of shuttle which reciprocates at very high speed with high technological & metallurgical combined properties aluminum Alloy has been used to bring down moving shuttle weight from conventional shuttle design. Rake is mounted on the machine bed and pinion on back lash free reduction gear box fitted with low weight servo motor. With the rotation of pinion, shuttle movas forward or reverse very precisely to offer close tolerance cut length. Saw head slides forward & reverse on linear motion guide bearings and moves thru ball screw coupled to servo motor which is mounted on inclined table across the pipe axis. Saw head gear box is coupled with asynchronous motor which rotates the saw blade at programmed speed depending upon saw blade properties and tube material quality. When saw blade gets dull / worn out, computer senses the condition and give alarm to change the blade with new one. Shuttle stroke can be used up to 4000 mm but depending upon the tube size, thickness and mill speed, stroke length reduces automatically avoiding unnecessary wear tear of sliding parts, Saw blade size can be selected to economize tool cost as small diameter cutters are much cheaper, also after re sharpening saw blade size reduces and can be used for small diameter tube without any difficulty. Depending upon saw blade diameter, machine automatically adjusts Saw Head stroke. Centralized Lubrication system has dedicated PLC to lubricate .Tube clamping is done by pneumatically operated double acting clamps such that both the jaws retracts back to avoid rubbing and scratching on blade.

The following specification particularly describes the nature of this invention and the manner in which it is performed:-

Filed of the Invention:-
High speed burr free cold cutoff carriage saw machine to use in line for pipe cutting with conventional and high speed tube mills up to 120 met/ min speed to get 20 cuts of 6 met long pipes with cut length accuracy as good as +/- 2 mm with least burrs and perfect square cuts without any dimple. The said machine and it method of cutting is Eco friendly and has been designed to offer least per cut cost as it consumes very low power (machine uses very low overall power of 30 KW as against conventional similar saws which uses 60 to 75 KW) and offers more number cuts before re sharpening of HSS saw blades, for thick wall and tough steel tubes ,TCT saws blades can be used, highly user friendly computer program .needs very few data to enter by mill operator with fool proof and fault diagnostic features.
Objects of the invention:-
The present invention relates to a high speed
burr free cold cutoff carriage saw machine has been designed to keep minimum inertia load of shuttle which reciprocates at very high speed with high technological & metallurgical combined properties aluminum Alloy has
been used to bring down moving shuttle weight from conventional shuttle design of around a Tone to only 325 kgs. rake is mounted on the machine bed and pinion on back lash free reduction gear box fitted with low weight servo motor, with the rotation of pinion, shuttle moves forward or reverse very precisely to offer close tolerance cut length.
saw head slides forward & reverse on linear motion guide bearings and moves thru ball screw coupled to servo motor which is mounted on inclined table across the pipe axis. Saw head gear box is coupled with asynchronous motor which rotates the saw blade at programmed speed depending upon saw blade properties and tube Material quality, when saw blade gets dull / worn out , computer senses the condition and give alarm to change the blade with new one. this feature saves excessive wear of saw blade tooth which helps in re sharpening.
To enhance tool life, saw cutting speed and feed rate is adjusted automatically. for thick wall tube and sections special feature of slow entry and slow exit allows cutter to run without excessive loading due to pipe wall contact area.
Shuttle stroke length reduces automatically avoiding unnecessary wear tear of sliding parts.

A pipe cutting saw mill with less energy consumption from 30 KW compare to 75 KW with help of advance motors , LMG bearing .
The machine more productive and cheaper in costing 150 cuts/USD.
A saw used in machine can be reshaped which became economical to the overall cost of the operation.
A common blade for cutting of all kind of shape of the pipe, no need to change blade for every operation may save time and cost of the operation.
A Computerized operation by control penal .No need of high skilled operator, semi skilled operator can operate.
Multi dimensional cutting of the pipes through computer prograniming.
Synchronization with mill speed and controlling of speed limit.
Forced Central lubricant system.
Back Ground and Prior invention :-
Conventional model are not highly efficient and output of the machine is very low hence the costing of overall project is very high.
The conventional model available in the market is very huge and not easy to operate, but the present invention is easy to operate and compact in size.
The conventional machines available in the market are not computer friendly hence very difficult to operate and monitor but present invention is highly computer friendly.

Description of invention :-

The said Machine comprising an inertia load of shuttle which reciprocates at very high speed with high technological & metallurgical combined properties aluminum Alloy which has been used to bring down moving shuttle (1) weight from conventional shuttle design of around a Tonne to only 325 kgs. Rake is mounted on the machine bed and pinion on back lash free reduction gear box fitted (2) with low weight servo motor (3) . With the rotation of pinion, shuttle moves forward or reverse very precisely to offer close tolerance cut length.
Saw head slides (4) forward & reverse on linear motion guide bearings and moves thru ball screw coupled to servo motor which is mounted on inclined table across the pipe axis. Saw head gear box is coupled with asynchronous motor which rotates the saw blade at programmed speed depending upon saw blade properties and tube material quality. When saw blade gets dull / worn out , computer senses (5) the condition and give alarm to change the blade with new one. This feature saves excessive wear of saw blade tooth which helps in resharpening.

A Shuttle stroke can be used up to 4000 mm but depending upon the tube size, thickness and mill speed, stroke length reduces automatically to avoiding unnecessary wear tear of sliding parts. Similarly, to enhance tool life, saw cutting speed and feed rate is adjusted automatically. For thick wall tube and sections special feature of slow entry and slow exit allows cutter to run without excessive loading due to pipe wall contact area.
Depending upon tube size , saw blade size can be selected to economize tool cost as small diameter cutters are much cheaper, also after re sharpening saw blade size reduces and can be used for small diameter tube without any difficulty. Depending upon saw blade diameter, machine automatically adjusts Saw Head stroke.
Centralized Lubrication system (6) has dedicated PLC to lubricate all the moving parts as programmed depending upon function.TCT saw blades tooth are cooled and lubricated micro mist spray system. ITL offers Eco friendly mist oil to enhance saw blade life.
Tube clamping is done by pneumatically operated double acting clamps (7) such that both the jaws retracts back to avoid rubbing and scratching on blade.
Clamping Jaws can be changed quickly. Hardened and ground alloy steel length measuring roll is connected to rotary encoder and the whole assembly is housed in loaded sliding block.

Numerically controlled burr free cold cutting circular sawing cut-off carriage with V.F.D. controlled sawing speed and SERVO controlled feed & cross travel speeds as per specifications given below : -
1. Models suitable for pipes range - 1/2 to 21/2 NB and 1/2" to 4" NB
2. Suitable for square up to 90x90mm & rectangular sections up to 100x50 mm.
3. maximum 150 mtrs./ min. speed can be achieved ON-LINE for 3/4" dia x 1 mm thick wall tube with 6 met cut length (25 cuts/min).
4. Shuttle travel stroke length (maximum)- 4 Meters.

Operational Sequence
• After entering the desired data in the computer mill is started.
• Length measuring device starts measuring the length.
• No sooner programmed length in measured, system gets a signal and shuttle starts moving.
• fn fraction of second shuttle speed synchronizes very precisely with the tube speed.
• Tube clamping vise operates and tube is clamped.
• Sensor confirms the tube clamping and saw head starts moving to cut the tube.
• After cutting saw head retracts back rapidly.
• Tube clamping Vise operates and de clamp the tube.
• Shuttle stops and return back to home position and get ready to receive new command for the next cut.

6. A machine as claimed in claim 5, wherein the Tube damping is done by pneumatically operated double acting clamps (7) such that both the jaws retracts back to avoid rubbing and scratching on blade,
