Abstract: The Present invention of Holding Fixture & Electrodes for Spot welding of Work pieces at a Particular accurate position. After spot welding assembly dimensional accuracy is achieved. The Electrodes also constructed to suit the fixture and locate at the position where spot welding on the Work pieces is required. work pieces are located on the fixture with the help of angular surface fabricated on the holding block.Work pieces which are thin Sheet metal Components are located with respect to each other to get the desired dimensional accuracy after assembly. It is an assembly process of work pieces to get correct matching after welding.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The Present Invention relates generally 5 to Spot welding and Particular to a
novel device for guiding the Electrodes, concentrating the heat at the point of the
weld, as dissipating such heat as may be conducted to other areas of the Work
pieces.
10 BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In using an Electric Spot welding, Difficulties arise in concentrating the
required amount of heat in the Zone overlapping metal surface where fusion is
15 desired. It is also difficult to dissipate the heat from the area immediately
surrounding the desired Zone of fusion to prevent war page of the work piece.
These problems are particularly acute in Spot welding of light Gauge Sheet
metal.
It is therefore primary purpose of the invention to provide a simple,
20 inexpensive device for use by Electrodes to concentrates the heat generated by
the Electrodes to control war page of the Work piece by dissipating heat
conducted to area out side the Zone of fusion. Another object is to provide guide
means for welding Electrodes and for preventing accidental displacement of the
welding Electrodes during the welding operation. It also offers excellent Precision
25 welds with a minimum heat-zone which allows welding near heat-sensitive
components. Spot welding reduces the mechanical load to a work piece &
moreover, it is highly reproducible and creates a weld with clean appearance, it is
widely used for the Joining of thin Sheet metal Components in the area of
automotive, micro technology, telecommunication, packing and medical devices.

SUMMARY OF PRESENT INVENTION
In accordance with one aspect of present invention is to provide a spot
welding fixture that facilitates holding and positioning of metal work pieces at 5 the
predefined position in spot welding operation.
In accordance with second aspect of present invention is to provide a spot
welding fixture for accurate positioning of work pieces on fixture.
In accordance with another aspect of present invention is to provide a
10 holding fixture with electrode that is simple and inexpensive.
In accordance with another aspect of present invention is to provide
holding fixture with electrode having guiding means for electrode.
In accordance with another aspect of present invention is to provide a
holding fixture with electrode having guide plate that eliminates the possibility of
15 accidental displacement of electrode during welding.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide a
holding fixture with electrode to hold the work pieces for the spot welding
operation.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide a
20 spot welding fixture that facilitates the concentration of heat to the weld zone.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide a
spot welding fixture that is compact and durable in construction.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide a
spot welding fixture for spot welding operation that can be properly and
25 effectively utilized to hold, position and guiding of electrode to the work pieces
during spot welding by lesser skilled individuals.

Referring Fig.1, Fig.2, Fig.3 & Fig.4 the present invention is a Holding
Fixture for Spot welding 8 for the Spot Welding of very small & thin Sheet metal
Work pieces within accurate dimensions & the correct matching with each other
after welding.
20 Holding Fixture for Spot welding 8 Comprises a Holding Block 1, which
have the surfaces A, B & C, Holding Plate 1 holds the Work piece on the
Angular surfaces A & B, of the Holding Block, Surface C rest on the Surface D of
the Guide Plate and fixed each other with C’SK Screw 6 & Dowel Pin 5.
Holding Fixture for Spot welding 8 Comprises a Guide Plate 2, fixed with
25 the Holding Block 1 matching Surfaces C & D of both the items. Guide Plate 2
guide the Electrode in the Hole 9 to provide the proper position to the Lower
Electrode. Surface E of the Guide Plate 2 rest & fixed on the welding m/c. Bed.
Annexure‐II
Holding Fixture for Spot Welding 8 comprises a Lower Electrode 3 of
Tungsten Copper is constructed for the welding the Work piece. Electrode fixed
with Electrode Holder 4 and finally fixed with the m/c. Electrode guided through
the 5 Hole 9 made in Guide Plate.
Holding Fixture for Spot Welding 8 comprises an Electrode Holder 4 of
Tungsten Copper is constructed for the Holding of the Electrode 3.
Holding Fixture for Spot welding 8 Comprises a C’SK Screw 6 & Dowel
Pin 5 which clamped the Holding Block 1 & Guide Plate 2 with each other
10 through threaded Holes 10 made in Holding Block 1.

Accordingly, the description of the present invention is to be considered as illustrative only and is for the purpose of teaching those skilled in the art of the best mode of carrying out the invention. The details may be varied substantially without departing from the spirit of the invention, and exclusive use of all modifications which are within the scope of the appended claims is reserved. We Claim

1. A holding fixture and electrode for the holding and positioning of work pieces at a particular predefined position that also guides the spot welding electrode to the work piece. The holding fixture and electrode for spot welding fixture comprising:
- Holding plate used to hold the work piece and support other sub component of the fixture.
- Guide plate that guide the electrode to the work piece and prevents displacement of electrode during welding.
- Lower Electrode that is suited to fixture and concentrate heat at a particulate pre defined point.
- Electrode holder for holding the upper electrode and its subsequent fixing on spot welding machine.
2. The holding fixture and electrode for spot welding of claim 1 wherein, holding block that holds other sub component of fixture and work pieces to be welded.
3. The holding fixture and electrode for spot welding of claim 1 wherein, holding plate has an angular surface, suited for the holding of work piece.
4. The holding fixture and electrode for spot welding of claim 1 wherein, guide block guide and position the upper and lower electrode perfectly perpendicular to work piece.
5. The holding fixture and electrode for spot welding of claim 1 wherein, Guide plate that guide the welding electrode to the work piece and eliminate the chance of displacement of the electrode during welding.
6. The holding fixture and electrode for spot welding of claim 1 further comprising upper and lower electrode for concentrating the heat at the welding point.

7. The holding fixture and electrode for spot welding of claim 1 wherein, upper and lower electrode is made of tungsten copper. ,TagSPECI:As per Annexure-II
