Abstract: A hot-dip galvanized steel material according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a base steel material and a hot-dip plating layer on the surface of the base steel material, wherein the chemical composition of the hot-dip plating layer contains, in terms of mass%, 10.00-30.00% Al, 3.00-12.00% Mg, 0-2.00% Sn, 0-2.50% Si, 0-3.00% Ca, 0% to less than 0.25% Ni, 0-5.00% Fe, etc., the remainder being composed of Zn and impurities, the metallographic structure of the hot-dip plating layer contains 5-45 area% of a phases having a grain diameter of 0.5-2 µm, the metallographic structure of the hot-dip plating layer contains 15-70 area% of MgZn2 phases, and the area ratio of a phases having the orientation relationship (111)a//(0001)MgZn2 with respect to adjacent MgZn2 phases among the a phases having a grain diameter of 0.5-2 µm is 25-100%.
