DESC:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates generally straddle type two-wheeled or three wheeled vehicles and particularly, but not exclusively, to a housing unit.
BACKGROUND
[0002] A vehicle generally has a transmission member, alternately referred as a swing arm mounted on a rear portion. An engine or a motor may be mounted to said transmission member. The engine or motor require to be cooled for which a coolant is supplied from a coolant tank.
[0003] It is now established that the electric motor vehicles will solve most of the environmental issues such as the exhaust gas from automobiles which is said to make up about 70% of air pollution, noises and also will extend the life of oil resources by two times or more.
[0004] Known electric motor vehicles are provided as their drive system with a battery, a motor, and a controller for controlling the speed of the motor, and a wheel is rotated by a drive transmission mechanism like conventional automobiles, or a wheel is rotated by a motor disposed on it without necessitating such a drive transmission mechanism like conventional automobiles
[0005] The engine or motor are also controlled through controllers which are connected through electric wires. Cladding for the electric wires and coolant supply hoses are made of a flexible material due to the transmission member or the swing arm being swingably attached and therefore the distance between the transmission member and main body of the vehicle is subject to constant change.
[0006] Use of a flexible material such as rubber allows easy expansion and contraction as and when the transmission member moves away or close to the main body of the vehicle respectively.
[0007] However, the electric vehicle is also demanded to have its safety improved together in parallel with the improvement of its performance. A mere replacement of the drive motive power of a conventional gasoline automobile by a motor cannot sufficiently provide the safety of the electric motor vehicle. Specifically, the electric motor vehicle uses electricity for a drive source, and the power is a motor which rotates at a high speed as compared with an engine.
[0008] While the arrangement as prevalent in state of the art is effective in routing of wires with the help of cable lock etc., the arrangement as known in the art does not allow the proper positioning of the routing of the wire, moreover when the vehicle is parked closely, there is a risk always of the displacement of wires due to saree guards etc. Also other disadvantages occurred like as cleaning of the housing area, interference with the surrounding components.
[0009] Therefore, a housing unit that allows easy routing and prevent the interference of the surrounding components with the housing unit of the straddle type vehicle, without requiring removal or displacement of components of the straddle type vehicle, is desirable in the art.

[0010] The detailed description of the present subject matter is described with reference to the accompanying figures. Same numbers are used throughout the drawings to reference like features and components.
[0011] Figure 1 illustrates a left side view of a straddle type vehicle, as per an embodiment of the present subject matter.
[0012] Figure 2 illustrates a perspective rear view of a straddle type vehicle, as per an embodiment of the present subject matter.
[0013] Figure 3 illustrates a perspective view of a housing unit of a straddle type, as per an embodiment of the present subject matter.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0014] Generally, an engine or a traction motor is located on a transmission member, also called a swing arm, of a vehicle. The transmission member is usually attached swingably to a main frame of the vehicle. The engine or traction motor need to be supplied with coolant for cooling and electric wires for control by controllers.
[0015] It is customary for hoses and cladding of the battery wires and power wires to be made of a flexible material such as rubber or silicone so as to allow for expansion and contraction as and when the transmission member moves away from or towards the main frame of the vehicle respectively, during dynamic driving conditions.
[0016] The hoses and cladding made of flexible material needs to be protected from exposure to elements of the weather, as they tend to reduce the longevity of the cladding thereby leading to unstable structure of the harness & hoses. Moreover, the cladding, left haphazardly tends to clutter the area above the transmission member or swing arm.
[0017] Therefore, a housing unit capable of shielding the hoses and cladding of a motor or an engine, and the housing unit also capable of organizing the cladding effectively is desirable in the art.
[0018] The present invention provides a housing unit comprising a housing cover adapted to shield plurality of rear power wires and plurality of battery wires and also a disk pipe filled with fluid connected to front handle bar assembly.
[0019] As per an embodiment of the present invention, the housing cover is adapted to shield the plurality of rear power wires, the plurality of battery wires and a duct pipe from the top and the sides. In an embodiment, the housing unit is located on one of a motor cover or an engine cover with the one of a motor cover or an engine cover forming a base of the housing unit.
[0020] As per an embodiment of the present invention, the housing cover of the housing unit has at least one opening to allow passage of the plurality of rear power wires, a duct pipe and the plurality of battery wires. As per an embodiment of the present invention, the housing cover of the housing unit is made of one or more of metal, plastic and fibre.
[0021] As per an embodiment of the present invention, the housing cover is coupled to a power train unit which can be the motor or engine formed integrally with the power train. This enables reducing number of parts in a vehicle. The cover also protects critical joints of the plurality of hoses from direct exposure to sunlight, dust mud etc.
[0022] As per an embodiment of the present invention, the housing cover is disposed in a substantially arc portion of the engine or motor or disposed substantially above the engine or motor and downstream of the vehicle frame structure and ahead of the rear wheel, moreover the components have to maintain 15mm clearance to avoid any interference with the surrounding components, so due to shape of engine or motor and the presence of gravity, the wires automatically takes shape according to the shape of the engine or motor and finally placed on the engine or motor. So, according to this, the arc shape of the housing cover is preferred to avoid any interference with the surrounding components and also, to increase the ease of accessibility for cleaning the housing unit, moreover also helps in easy routing of wires present.
[0023] Thus, the present subject matter provides a housing unit that protects hoses made of the flexible material, a duct pipe, the power wires and battery wires clad in a flexible material from being damaged or being worn out due to constant exposure to the elements of the weather. Besides, the housing unit provides a solution which allows neat organization of the power wires and electric wires, thereby, avoiding cluttering that would have otherwise occurred.
[0024] Therefore, the present invention addresses the drawbacks prevalent in the state of the art.
[0025] Apart from the advantages already mentioned, the described invention has several advantages over conventional arrangements prevalent in state of the art.
[0026] As per an embodiment of the present invention is described in further detail in conjunction with the figures in the following description.
