Hp Turbine Nozzle Vertical Grind Fixture
Abstract: Abstract HP turbine nozzle vertical grind fixture The grinding fixture designed and manufactured for mounting the High-Pressure Turbine Nozzle in vertical axis. The arrangement for mounting the Nozzle to facilitate vertical grinding consists of base plate, locating ring, and support pillar. Locating ring fixes the position of the structural frame of the nozzle making it easier to set up before grinding. Fixture also allows grinding stgl and stg2 shroud without change of fixture setting. It holds the nozzle assembly firmly on vertical position when shroud and honeycomb seals are being ground with grinding wheel. It prevents shift of nozzle assembly during grinding in order to produce dimensionally correct part. The complete fixture arrangement is very easy to install and remove.

We claim:
1. A fixture designed and manufactured for grinding of nozzle shrouds and honeycomb seal, comprising:
a base plate;
a locating ring;
a holding bolt; and
a support pillar, characterized in that, support pillar (2) is rigidly fixed (welded) to a
heavier base plate (1) which in-turn is mounted on the machine base plate, the
holding bolt (4) is holding base plate on machine base, and, locating ring (3) is
mounted on support pillar and holds the nozzle during grinding.
