Abstract: The present invention provides a hybrid (solar-Battery) powered pesticides sprayer pump for small and marginal farmer. The present invention designed and fabricated by considering parameters like desired spraying capacity, light weight, cost effective, user-friendly in operation, high operating time and for faster coverage of area. To make this portable and to allow the farmer to carry it on his back while in operation.
The present invention relates to pesticides sprayer. More particularly it relates to a hybrid i.e., Solar Photovoltaic and Battery powered pesticides sprayer pump. Moreover, the present invention has light weight, cost effective and easy to operate. This invention is most suitable for agriculture sector, especially for the small and marginal farmers.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In India, about 65% of people are involved in agriculture and farming. In that around 86.2 % farmers are coming under small or marginal category. Those with less than 2 hectares of farmland are referred as small and marginal farmers.
In present scenario, small Indian farmer facing various challenges in agriculture. One of the major problems, they face is a failure of crops due to pests and insects. Insects are responsible for the destruction of crops and to prevent the crop, use of pesticides and insecticides is essential for obtaining high yield.
To control pests the following processes are performed namely Spraying, Chemical Control, Biological Control, Pneumatic Control, and some farming pattern. Spraying is one of the best methods to remove unwanted plants in croplands. For spraying pesticides, farmers have been mainly dependent on traditional or conventional techniques like hand operated and fossil fuel operated sprayer pump.
These types of spraying techniques are labour-intensive and time consuming. Due to high labour cost and traditional spraying techniques, which required fossil fuel to operate pump / equipment, create challenges to small farmers. Also, the increasing cost of fuel and unavailability of fuel on remote villages left no choice to farmer to use hand operated spraying pump, which eventually decreases the productivity. Thus, an automatically operated pesticides sprayer may be able to solve the problem and increase productivity. Following are the methods used for application of spray depending upon volume, i.e., high volume spraying, low volume spraying, ultra-Low volume spraying.
Major types of sprayers used by small farmer for agriculture spraying process are Knapsack sprayer, Bucket sprayer, Rocker sprayer.
Knapsack sprayer is consisting of cylinder and piston assembly, liquid tank, hydraulic pump, operating lever, pressure chamber, agitator, delivery hose, spray lance and nozzle. The hydraulic pressure for forcing the chemical mixture is generated by direct action of piston and cylinder. The arm or handle on the side of the sprayer is provided for upward and downward movement of piston. The downward action of piston compresses the fluid inside the cylinder. This forces the fluid through the nozzle.
Compressor sprayer contains of a cylindrical metal tank for holding the spray liquid, a hand operated piston kind pump, a filler hole within the tank outlet with delivery pipe, cut-off, lance, and hydraulic nozzle. A combine of adjustable shoulder straps is provided for mounting the sprayer on the rear of the operator. Then the pump is operated by hand and atmospheric pressure (50-60 psi) is made up. The compressed gas exerts pressure to manoeuvre spray liquid to the nozzle via delivery pipe, cut-off device & lance system One problem in pump sprayers is that pressure cannot stay constant because of gradual decrease of pressure, the nozzle discharge rate changes so also angle of spray and droplet size.
US4269356A relates to Portable agricultural sprayer. It is a portable agricultural sprayer comprises a narrow elongated wheeled frame having the wheels closely spaced to permit operation between rows of plants. The frame is provided with a handle for hand moving. The frame supports an electrically operated compressor as a source of compressed air and an electric storage battery for providing power for operation of the compressor. A storage tank is supported on the frame for containing a solution of agricultural chemicals or fertilizer or the like and is connected at one end to the output side of the compressor to be provided with compressed air for pumping the liquid to be sprayed. However, this is meant for very small area.
US 20040079816 A1 relates to a sprayer assembly in which a foot operated pump is used to pressurize the sprayers' tank. In this design of a garden sprayer, a foot pump and the tank of a sprayer are connected to a common base. The tank is pressurized by stepping repeatedly on the foot-operated air pump, pushing air through the airline of the foot pump, then through an air inlet in the upper section of the tank. The built-up air pressure in the tank pushes the liquid in the tank out through the sprayer hose, then through the sprayer nozzle when the nozzle valve is opened.
Shivaraja Kumar Parameswara murthy, reported on “Design and Development of Wheel and Pedal Operated Sprayer”. It is a portable device and no need of any fuel to operate, which is easy to move and sprays the pesticide by moving the wheel and also peddling the equipment. The manually operated multipoint sprayer pump is worked by operating a pedal lever by the operator. It requires one person to work. The spray liquid is kept in bucket or container, and it is sucked by a suction hose through a filter (strainer) due to piston movement used in the bicycle.
In the present scenario there are different types of pesticide sprayer are available, i.e., manual pumping, foot press, IC engine operated, electric power operated pesticide sprayer. But all these pesticide sprayers have many shortcomings, i.e., intensive labour force, dependency on grid power, less efficiency in terms of time to work ratio, etc.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The principal object of this invention is to provide a Hybrid (Solar-Battery) powered pesticides sprayer pump for small agriculture field.
Another object of the present invention is to provide minimum maintenance of pesticides spraying assembly, very less pollution as its counter spraying pump.
Another object of the present invention is to provide multipurpose facility like electricity for LED light, Charging point, etc.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention deals with a Hybrid (Solar-Battery) powered pesticides sprayer pump for small agriculture field, wherein the proposed system not only serves the function of pesticides spraying on small farms but also charge battery from generated solar power for other activities like lighting LED, etc.
The proposed system has a unique feature that it works on both solar as well as battery power for spraying pesticides. This hybrid powered electric pesticides sprayer pump comprising of small capacity liquid storage tank, housing assembly for storage tank, waist belt or backpack belt for holding storage tank, a flexible pipe, nozzle, hose, a Photovoltaic cell array, a battery, a charge controller; DC submersible pump; Inlet and outlet pipes, and a sprayer gun.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Various embodiments of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. It should be noted that all these drawings and description are only presented as exemplary embodiments.
The present invention relates to remove the pest by using hybrid power-operated pesticide sprayer equipment rather than manually operated sprayers to reduce time find increase work effort of labour.
Hybrid (Solar-Battery) powered pesticides sprayer pump for small agriculture field operated by solar cell is usually consisting of a pump driven by electricity provided through battery, the battery is being charged using electricity generated by photovoltaic panels, collected from sunlight as opposed to grid electricity, or diesel run water pumps. Thus, the operation of hybrid powered spraying pumps is more economical. The reason can be cited as the lower operation and maintenance costs and less environmental impact than pumps powered by an internal combustion engine. Hybrid pumps are useful at any time of day, even when grid electricity is unavailable and alternative sources i.e., wind etc. do not provide sufficient energy. The size of the photovoltaic system is directly dependent on the size of the pump, the amount of water required (m³/d) and the available solar irradiance. As per the advantages there will be a reduction in the cost of spraying as well as there will be a huge saving on fuel/petrol. In addition to these, the transportation cost for buying petrol is saved. The maintenance part of solar sprayer is also a simple one. Farmers can do the spraying operation by themselves without engaging labor, thus increasing spraying efficiency.
Hence, it can be mentioned that the solar sprayers are the optimized in their cost effectiveness at the local and remote locations, whenever spraying is required. The solar-powered spray pump system uses solar energy as source. Solar energy is first used to charge a storage battery and then it is utilized to operate motor functioning as a pump. It concerns with the constant discharge of pesticide, compress air control system, solar power, battery charging, monitoring as well as timer and non-conventional power controlling techniques. When controlling is concerned, it includes the parameters such as pressure, pesticide level, battery voltage, current, and discharge condition.
It is proposed to make unique equipment for cultivation users in the forming process pesticide spray, taking a critical role due to poison properties of chemical. So, in this proposition, it is an attempt to exhibit something unique and useful equipment with non-conventional source technique. Also, the reduction in the weight of unique solar spray jet as compared to fossil fuel-based sprays jet.
Solar energy can be stored to utilize at night and in overcast conditions. Storage is an important issue in the development of solar energy because continuous availability is a vital requirement of modern energy use. Solar energy is only available in the hours of daylight, is stored in form of electrical energy.
Working:
Solar radiation can be converted directly into electricity using semiconductor devices, known as Photovoltaic (PV) cells. When Sunlight falls upon the Solar cell a part of the light is absorbed and it is converted into Electrical Energy by means of Electron Movements. This Solar Panel is connected to 12V lead acid battery for storing the electrical energy. A 12V DC motor is connected to the lead acid battery to convert the electrical energy into mechanical energy. Then the pesticide is made to flow through the spray gun at constant flow of per minute.
It is having the following advantageous features like it works with high efficiency and almost zero noise. The spraying process is easy and less exhausting. Operating cost is almost zero with less pollution.
We claim:
1. Hybrid (Solar-Battery) powered pesticides sprayer pump for small agriculture field, comprising: a Storage tank; a DC pump; a Pipe, Power socket, Battery, Charge Controller, Solar Panel, On/Off switch, Spray Gun, Nozzle, Power cable wherein, solar panel is used to convert solar radiation into dc electricity, which is being stored at battery with the help of charge controller. The dc motor is used the charge stored at the battery to pressurize the liquid from the storage tank to the sprayer gun and then towards nozzle for spraying.
2. Hybrid (Solar-Battery) powered pesticides sprayer pump for small agriculture field as claimed in claim 1, wherein the charge controller, maintain the battery full during daytime and always check battery condition.
3. Hybrid (Solar-Battery) powered pesticides sprayer pump for small agriculture field as claimed in claim 1, wherein power socket is provided for other electricity utilization purposes like lightning LED etc.
4. Hybrid (Solar-Battery) powered pesticides sprayer pump for small agriculture field as claimed in claim 1, wherein nozzle pressure can be adjusted by changing nozzle ring.
