Immersion Rod With Dry Heat Protection System

Abstract: ABSTRACT IMMERSION ROD WITH DRY HEAT PROTECTION SYSTEM The present invention provides an immersion rod (1) for water heating with protection system(s) against dry heating and damage. The immersion rod (1) comprises (a) at least a heating element (2); (b) at least a moveable floating valve (3); and (c) at least a mechanical component (4). The moveable floating valve (3) essentially comprises a bulbous attachment (7) which floats in water and pushes the rod (6) to activate a microswitch (5) to turn on the immersion rod (1). The mechanical component (4) in a first position when the immersion rod (1) is kept inverted restricts the movement of the moveable floating valve (3) from activating the microswitch (5), and in a second position does not restrict the movement of the moveable floating valve (3) from activating at least the microswitch (5). These mechanical systems work in conjunction to protect the immersion rod (1) from dry heat and damage.
