Abstract: Generally the accelerator throttle is actuated by using a cable which is pulled by the accelerator pedal. One end of the cable is mounted on the accelerator pedal and other end to the throttle lever. The orientation of engine Fuel Injection Pump (FIP) is such that cable has to be routed through a number of sharp bends for aligning the pulling direction to the throttle travel. Major drawback with the existing routing system is having very low load and stroke efficiencies of the cable and also imparts an undesirable stickiness to the pedal. Pulleys are considered to be frictionless and also can be used where the pulling direction and the direction of the pulling force are different. Thus, the constraint that the axis of the adjuster screw has to be aligned to the throttle travel is eliminated by employing a pulley member in the routing. This arrangement also enables smooth and shorter routing without sharp bends of the cable thereby ensuring stick free operation.

PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
The following specification describes the invention.
Field of invention
This invention is related to accelerator throttle system and more particularly it relates to improved accelerator throttle lever actuation system for vehicles.
Background of invention
Generally the accelerator throttle is actuated by using a cable which is pulled by the accelerator pedal. One end of the cable is mounted on the accelerator pedal and other end to the throttle lever. The cable has an outer cover made of polyethylene which holds an adjuster screw at the throttle end. The cable is passed through the adjuster screw and the adjuster screw is anchored on a bracket so that the pulling direction (axis of the adjuster screw) is aligned to the throttle travel.
Object of invention
The main object of the present invention is to provide improved improved accelerator throttle lever actuation system for vehicles.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a method of mounting improved accelerator throttle lever actuation system for vehicles.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide an improved accelerator throttle lever actuation system for vehicle which improves the load efficiency of the cable and removes the sticky pedal feel.
Brief description
In accordance with the present invention, improved accelerator throttle lever actuation system for vehicle comprises; a pulley member (2) mounted on bracket member (1) with the help of pin member (3), wherein said bracket member (1) is mounted on a bracket of Fuel Injection Pump (FIP) which also holds the adjuster screw (4) of the cable (5), wherein said pulley is mounted on the said bracket member (1) for anchoring the said adjuster screw (4). One end of said cable is connected to the fire wall and the other end is mounted on the throttle lever.

Detailed description of invention
Referring now to the drawings wherein the showings are for the purpose of illustrating a preferred embodiment of the invention only, and not for the purpose of limiting the same,
In accordance with the present invention, improved accelerator throttle lever actuation system for vehicle comprises; a pulley member (2) mounted on bracket member (1) with the help of pin member(3), wherein said bracket member (1) is mounted on a bracket of Fuel Injection Pump (FIP) which also holds the adjuster screw(4) of the cable(5), wherein said pulley member (2) is mounted on the said bracket member(l) for anchoring the said adjuster screw(4). One end of said cable (5) is connected to the fire wall and the other end is mounted on the throttle lever.
Said pulley member (2) is mounted on the said bracket member (1) with the help of mounting pin member (3)
Pulleys are considered to be frictionless and also can be used where the pulling direction and the direction of the pulling force are different. The same principle is used in the current invention. Thus, the constraint that the axis of the said adjuster screw (3) has to be aligned to the throttle travel is eliminated by employing a pulley member (2) in the routing. The bracket member (1) on which the said pulley member (2) is mounted is also used for anchoring the said adjuster screw(4). By employing the pulley arrangement two sharp bends are eliminated into a very smooth gradual bend. Thus, the routing is made simpler which also results in smaller length of the said cable (5).
The said bracket member (1) which is mounted on the fuel injection pump (FIP) bracket for holding the pulley member (2) with the help of mounting pin member (3) and said adjuster screw(4) which reduces the number of sharp bends and provides a very smooth routing and thus improves the load and stroke efficiency of the cable and, removes the sticky pedal feel.
In accordance with the present invention, Method of mounting the improved accelerator throttle lever actuation comprises; selecting the bracket member, attaching the said bracket member to the bracket of fuel injection pump, selecting the pulley member, connecting the said pulley member to the said bracket member with the help of mounting pin member, disposing the said cable through the said bracket member, passing the said cable through the said pulley member, connecting one end of the said said cable to the fire wall of vehicle and other end of the said cable to the throttle lever.
The object of invention is to reduce the number of sharp bends to a value as low as possible and thus to improve the routing, which in turn will improve the load efficiency of the cable and removes the sticky pedal feel. This is done by using a pulley member mounted on a said bracket member which also holds said adjuster screw of the said cable.
The foregoing description is a specific embodiment of the present invention. It should be appreciated that this embodiment is described for purpose of illustration only, and that numerous alterations and modifications may be practiced by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. It is intended that all such modifications and alterations be included insofar as they come within the scope of the invention as claimed or the equivalents thereof.
