Improved Blood Grouping Card
Abstract: The present invention relates to a blood grouping card that can be used at a temperature up to 40degC, requiring normal storage conditions, comprising a solid support provided with circular spots of anti sera stabilized with additives, a process for the preparation of the said card by radical polymerization of monomers in a suitable solvent in presence of a free radical catalyst at a temperature ranging between room temperature to 700C to obtain synthetic co-polymer, mixing it with natural oligomers/polymers, antibacterial agent and buffer to obtain an additive in which at least an antisera is stabilized to obtain a coating composition, providing circular spot(s)of coating composition on to a solid support, drying at 20-27deg C to obtain the blood grouping card, the invention also relates to a kit comprising the blood grouping card packed in multilayer pouch optionally containing desiccant, pricking needle, mixing device and an instruction manual packed in a moisture proof sealing pouch and a method for using the said kit.
