Improved Front Cab Mounting System For Vehicles
Abstract: This invention relates to the front cab mounting system of a vehicle. The said mounting system comprises; integrated lower bracket and upper bracket portion mounted on top of chassis frame member, rear support gusset mounted on top of chassis frame member behind said integrated lower and upper bracket for supporting said integrated lower and upper bracket , cylindrical housing for housing bush member, internal rib and support member mounted on top of said upper bracket portion. The said lower bracket is connected to the chassis frame through plurality of mounting bolts and a pivot between them to control the forces on the mounting bolts. The said lower bracket is also provided with an extended member to wrap the chassis frame in the front. The upper portion of the lower bracket is joined with the bottom face of the said upper bracket such that the upper portion of the lower bracket is located above the bottom face of the said upper bracket. The said rear support gusset is also provided with crush initiator to promote the energy absorption by deformation. The said rear gusset is also provided with a locating pin to ensure relative positioning of the upper bracket and the said rear support gusset. The rear support gusset is provided with first wrap around flange at front end for providing lateral support to the upper bracket and second wrap around flange at bottom which wrap around top flange of chassis frame and is connected through mounting bolts.
