Improved Process For Racemization Of (R) 3 (Dimethylamino) 1 (2 Thienyl) 1 Propanol, Formed Duringthe Synthesis Of Duloxetine Hydrochloride
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved process for the racemization of (R)-3- (dimeth);lamino)-1-(2-thienyl)-l-propanol, an undesired enantiomer formed during synthesis of duloxetine hydrochloride, using an aqueous organic acid. The process according to present invention is safe, eco-friendly, high yielding and avoids use of highly corrosive acids.
