Abstract: ABSTRACT Improved Self Propelled Agriculture Heighted Boom Sprayer The present invention relates to an improved self propelled agriculture heighted boom sprayer. Improved agriculture heighted boom sprayer comprises a swivelling booms (14) equipped with telescopic booms (33). Further the fixed boom (8) is provided with pendulum mechanism that keeps the fixed boom (8) parallel to ground in uneven field or sloppy field by which proper penetration of chemical is achieved by keeping constant height between ground and nozzles (13). Each said swivelling boom (14) is provided with break away mechanism to control the boom movement by spring tension/force and to avoid damage of boom through any obstacle in the field and enable the boom to move in backward direction. Further, said break away mechanism enables the boom back to original position after passing of obstacle through the small tension spring. Fig. 1

Claims:We Claim,

1. An improved self propelled agriculture heighted boom sprayer of four wheel drive comprises a height adjustable pesticides or chemical control unit (11) mounted above a front wheel axel (21) positioned before a driver’s seat (3), a driver operating panel (32) placed in the centre of the boom sprayer, a pesticides or chemicals holding spray tank (5) mounted behind the driver’s seat (3), a diesel engine (4) mounted on a fabricated chassis behind said tank (5), a transmission unit located under the pesticides or chemicals holding spray tank, an hydrostatic transmission system (19) mounted on the chassis nearer to said engine (4), a spray pump (6) powered by said engine (4) through -hydraulic pump drive and positioned nearer to said tank (5) to pump the pesticides or chemicals from said tank (5) to the crops fields;

said control unit (11) consists of a statically fixed boom (8) placed on supporting members (12), a pair of swivelling booms (14) each placed at the end of said fixed boom (8), spraying nozzles (13) on the surface of the said fixed and swivelling booms (8, 14), a flow/pressure adjusting manager (20) being mounted on the driver operating panel (32) to control the sprinkling flow of the nozzle (13);

characterized in that said swivelling booms (14) are provided with telescopic booms (33) that configured to perform telescopic movement within the swivelling booms (14)

wherein said fixed boom (8) is equipped with a pendulum mechanism that comprises a pair of right and left hanger rod (43) that are connected to a linkage (44) and other end of the pair of right and left hanger rods (43) are connected with the fixed boom (8) and rotatable, respectively with respect to the pair of supporting members (12); a spring at the centre of the linkage (44) to control the swinging motion of the boom sprayer in the field; and a big tension spring (45) one end of which is connected with the fixed boom (8) and another end is connected with a C bracket of the corresponding swivelling boom (14).

2. The improved self propelled agriculture heighted boom sprayer as claimed in claim 1, wherein said each swivelling boom (14) is assembled in C bracket with the help of breakaway mechanism.

3. The improved self propelled agriculture heighted boom sprayer as claimed in claim 2, wherein said breakaway mechanism comprises a small tension spring (46) that is expanded along the boom.

This application is an addition of Indian Application 881/MUM/2014 which has filling date of March 18, 2014.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to an improved self propelled agriculture heighted boom sprayers for spraying pesticides or chemicals over crop fields.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The term pesticide covers a wide range of compounds including insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, rodenticides, molluscicides, nematicides and plant growth regulators. Seed treatments are usually achieved by effective dose-transfer to a crop. Pesticides are applied to the seed prior to planting in the form of a seed treatment or coating to protect against soil-borne risks to the plant. Additionally, these coatings can provide supplemental chemicals and nutrients designed to encourage growth.
The manual spraying apparatus is available in which spraying is achieved by portable spray pump. But there are certain disadvantages associated with these sprayers such as it is highly time consuming which leads to infection in crop and affect the productivity of the crop.
CN 2422059 relates to a piston for a knapsack hand-operated sprayer. A piston for the sprayer comprises a fluid passageway, the piston, a piston barrel, a piston rod, a back flow hole and a piston cap. The problem associated with the manual knapsack sprayer is that it is time consuming and laborious work.
CN 2083851 relates to a knapsack high pressure sprayer, which is an agricultural machine and is mainly composed of a solution barrel and a high pressure assembly which is installed on the solution barrel, wherein, a spraying rod and a spraying head are connected with the high pressure assembly through a water outlet pipe. One disadvantage associated with this invention is that a high pressure sprayer is required to be operated by more than two persons. Also, it has the disadvantages of inconvenient operation and large labor intensity.
These sprayers further require manual efforts for pumping. Therefore user gets tired after a little use of the sprayer and does not cover full crop uniformly. Also, both the hands of the user remains engaged and therefore the user can not use the sprayer for a long time. When person spraying manually, he has a chance to got affected by pesticides or chemicals due to his position that of closer to field crops.
Hence, it is needed to have a self propelled agriculture heighted boom sprayer that solves aforesaid problems and to have quite efficient engines and simple electronics for carrying out spraying adjustments and repairs. Also fuel used is diesel which is economical and easily available.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The principle object of the present invention is to provide improved self propelled agriculture heighted boom sprayer.
Another object of the present invention is to provide improvement in efficiency, time and effectiveness of spraying against the manual spraying practices.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a sprayer which is readily modified to accommodate raw crops of different heights (from 550 mm to 1800 mm) or raw crop of different farm sizes.
Another object of the present invention is to provide increased spraying accuracy and productivity.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a free-hanging pendulum mechanism for stabilizing a boom arrangement to protect booms damaged by resistance force.
Yet, another object of the present invention is to provide a breakaway mechanism that enable the boom structure to counter the impact on the pair of swiveling boom occur through the obstacle in the field.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide better stability and balancing of machine by specially designed pesticides or chemicals tank dimensions and capacity.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to an improved self-propelled agriculture heighted boom sprayer. An improved self propelled agriculture heighted boom sprayer of four wheel drive comprises a height adjustable pesticides or chemical control unit mounted above a front wheel axel positioned before a driver’s seat, a driver operating panel placed in the centre of the boom sprayer, a pesticides or chemicals holding spray tank mounted behind the driver’s seat, a diesel engine mounted on a fabricated chassis behind said tank, a transmission unit located under the pesticides or chemicals holding spray tank, an hydrostatic transmission system mounted on the chassis nearer to said engine, a spray pump powered by said engine through hydraulic pump drive and positioned nearer to said tank horizontally or vertically to pump the pesticides or chemicals from said tank to the crops fields. The control unit consists of a statically fixed boom placed on supporting members, a pair of swivelling booms each placed at the end of said fixed boom, spraying nozzles on the surface of the said fixed and swivelling booms, a flow/pressure adjusting manager being mounted on the driver operating panel to control the sprinkling flow of the nozzles. Said swivelling boom is provided with telescopic boom that configured to perform telescopic movement within the swivelling boom. Said fixed boom is equipped with a pendulum mechanism that comprises a pair of right and left hanger rod that are connected to a linkage and other end of the pair of right and left hanger rods are connected with the fixed boom and rotatable, respectively with respect to the pair of supporting members; a spring at the centre of the linkage to control the swinging motion of the boom sprayer in the field; and a big tension spring one end of which is connected with the fixed boom and another end is connected with a C bracket of the corresponding swivelling boom. Said boom is provided with break away mechanism that comprises a small tension spring that is expanded along the boom to control the boom movement by spring tension/force and to avoid damage of boom through any obstacle in the field.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Before explaining the present invention in detail, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of the construction and arrangement of parts illustrated in the accompanied drawings. The invention is capable of other embodiments, as depicted in different figures as described above and of being practiced or carried out in a variety of ways. It is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein is for the purpose of description and not of limitation.

As directed in Fig. 1 and 2, a self-propelled agriculture heighted boom sprayer for spraying chemicals or pesticides is mounted on a pair of front wheel (9) and a pair of rear wheel (18). Said self-propelled agriculture boom sprayer comprises both two wheel drive and four wheel drive as per the requirements of more or less turning radius of the field.

The said agriculture boom sprayer consists of height adjustable pesticides or chemicals control unit (11), a driver operating panel (32), a pesticides or chemicals holding spray tank (5), a diesel engine (4), spray pump (6), transmission unit and break system (16).

Said height adjustable pesticides or chemicals control unit (11) is mounted above a front wheel axle assembly (21) which is positioned with the help of a pair of supporting members (12) at the front side of the driver’s seat (3) which is covered by cabin with an air conditioner (15). The said pesticides or chemicals holding tank (5) is located behind the driver’s seat (3). The diesel engine (4) is mounted horizontally or vertically on the fabricated chassis behind the said tank (5) to the said boom sprayer for better stability of the vehicle. The spray pump (6) which is powered by engine (4) through hydraulic pump drive is positioned nearer to the said tank (5) to pump the pesticides or chemicals to the crops via boom nozzles from the said tank (5).

As directed in Fig. 2, the transmission unit consists of a hydrostatic transmission system (19), a transmission gear box (10) and a differential drive corresponding to each of the wheels (9) and (18). The said hydrostatic transmission system (19) powered by engine (4) is mounted on a chassis nearer to engine (4) which transmit the hydraulic pressure to the power steering (2) through a gear oil pump via hose pipe. Reverse or forward direction and speed is adjusted by direction lever (30) through hydrostatic transmission system. The transmission gear box (10) is mounted nearer to the hydrostatic transmission system (19) which is also powered by hydrostatic transmission system (19). The transmission gear box having shift gears which can be operated by gear shift lever (31) for speed control. The differential drive corresponding to wheel (9) is mounted on the front wheel axle (21) whereas the differential drive corresponding to rear wheel (18) is mounted on the rear wheel axle (22). The front wheel axle (21) and rear wheel axle (22) differential drives are connected with the said transmission gear box (10) through propeller shaft (23) to control the forward or reverse direction.

As directed in Fig. 3, a driver operating panel (32) placed in the centre of the boom sprayer comprises a hydraulic power steering (2) mounted on the front wheel axle (21) to control drive directions of the wheels, a plurality of foot operated pedals and plurality of hand operated levers such as throttle lever (17) to control boom movement of both fixed (8) and swivelling booms (14), left boom operating lever (26), right boom operating lever (27) and telescopic boom operating joysticks as described in Fig (4). to separately operate the swivelling booms (14) and corresponding telescopic boom (33), spray pump push button (28) to pump the pesticides or chemicals from the tank (5) via boom nozzles (13), boom up or down lever (29) to control up and down vertical movement of the swivelling booms (14), direction lever (30), gear shift lever (31) and break system (16) to start the engine (4) at idling speed to initiate the spraying operation of the sprayer and control the forward and reverse direction and speed of the sprayer. The drive operating panel (32) also comprises spray navigation system that includes controller and unit assembly installation diagram located in front of the driver and near the operating panel. Said spray navigation system comprises plurality of operating panels including electromagnetic section valve, orien flow meter, line filter, proportional control unit, adjustable relief value and main control unit. Boom operation is carried out by electrically operated switch as mentioned in Fig. 4 and as described in the same the telescopic boom is operated by toggle switch (36, 37).

The pesticides or chemicals control unit (11) comprises a fixed boom (8) being extended front side of the said boom sprayer and supported through said supporting members (12). At both free end of the fixed boom (8)a swivelling boom (14) is mounted. Now as shown in Fig. 1, each said swivelling boom is parallely extended with respect to the said boom sprayer. Each said swivelling boom (14) comprises a telescopic boom (33) that is designed for telescopic movement outwardly and inwardly to the swivelling boom (14). Both swivelling boom (14) have two channel of different section which is assembled such that smaller section channel can be slide under bigger section and said bigger section is fixed to the attachment of centre boom and smaller is telescopic type which can be extend/retract as per requirement. Sliding of telescopic boom (33) is governed by Electric motor (39) through the set of sprocket (40) & chain mechanism (41) as described in Fig. 5. Said electric motor and its respective gear & sprocket are fixed to the attachment which is assembled to the fixed boom (8). Over the sprocket (40), chain (41) is assembled which extend/retract the telescopic channel through the set of roller (42) which guide the telescopic boom (33) inside the fixed boom (8) as described in Fig. 6. Said extent or retract depend on the rotation provided by the electric motor (39). Operation of these telescopic sections is done from toggle switch provided on drive operating panel (32).

The pluralities of variable flow adjusted spraying nozzles (13) are mounted on each of the said booms (8, 14) in such a manner that the mouth portions of said nozzles (13) are directing towards the crops and the sprinkling flow of the nozzles (13) are controlled by flow/pressure adjusting manager (20) which is mounted on driver operating panel (32). Now, according to the present invention, as like swivelling booms (14) the telescopic booms (33) are provided with plurality of spraying nozzles (13) which are positioning spaced relationship along their corresponding booms. The height of the fixed boom (8) from the ground level and left and right movement of each of the swivelling boom (14) are adjusted according to the requirements by hydraulic cylinders (1). To lift the centre boom (8) hydraulic cylinders (1) are provided whose stroke length are set such that it can achieve the nozzle height range of 550 mm to 1800 mm from the ground so that proper spraying can be done as per the height of the crop. Said hydraulic cylinders (1) are operated through driver’s cabin. A joystick switch is provided in driver’s cabin for operating hydraulic cylinder (1) as described in Figure 4.

As described in Fig. 7, said fixed boom (8) is provided with pendulum mechanism that keeps the fixed boom (8) parallel to ground in uneven field or sloppy field by which proper penetration of chemical is achieved by keeping constant height between ground and nozzles (13). Now said pendulum mechanism comprises a pair of right and left hanger rod (43) that are connected to the linkage (44). The other end of the pair of right and left hanger rods (43) are connected with the fixed boom (8) and rotatable, respectively with respect to the pair of supporting members (12). Further, said pendulum mechanism also comprises a spring at the centre of the linkage (44) to control the swinging motion of the boom sprayer in the field. Further, each said swivelling boom (14) is provided with big tension spring (45) one end of which is connected with the fixed boom (8) and another end is connected with a C bracket of the corresponding swivelling boom. As described in Fig. 8, said big tension spring (45) control the deflection of boom when boom sprayer machine running in the field. Specifically when it runs in uneven land, said big tension spring controls deflection of boom to avoid boom damages.

Further, as shown in Fig. (8), Said each swivelling boom (14) is assembled in C bracket with the help of breakaway mechanism. Said break away mechanism comprises a small tension spring (46) as described in Fig. 8 that is expanded along the boom to control the boom movement by spring tension/force and to avoid damage of boom through any obstacle in the field. Said break away mechanism enable the boom to move in backward direction. Further, said break away mechanism enables the boom back to original position after passing of obstacle through the small tension spring (46).

Operation of a self propelled agriculture heighted boom sprayer is started with the starting of engine (4), after that left boom operating lever (26), right boom operating lever (27) and telescopic boom operating lever (36, 37) as described in Fig (3, 4), is mounted on driver operating panel (32) is adjusted. The operating levers are operated manually to swivel the respective swivelling booms (14) at 90° in order to align along the direction as that of fixed boom (8). After that gear shift lever (31) is adjusted as per requirement of direction and speed. As spray pump push button (28) is also mounted on the driver operative panel (32) is pushed thereafter the spray pump (6) pumps the pesticides or chemicals from the tank via boom nozzles (13) over crop fields.
