Specification

FIELD OF INVENTION:
The invention relates to an improved top and bottom hub for Ceiling fan.
DESCRIPTION:
The main object of the invention is to provide an Aluminum heat sink with
ceiling fan MS/GI sheet metal top & bottom hub, for better thermal
conductivity to reduce efficiency losses.
Another purpose of the proposed invention is to provide an economical,
efficient and cost effective methods to manufacture Ceiling fan top & bottom
hub with usage of Aluminum heat sink & MS/GI sheet parts comprising of
both the components.
Another benefit of the invention is to provide a heat sink with top and bottom
hub of Ceiling fan for better thermal conductivity and to reduce efficiency
losses.
Also to provide both components which can be adLtinistered either
individually or in combination.
Another object of the invention is to provide processes for the production/
Sale (In India or Globally) of both the components.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Presently there are three types of fan top; one is made of aluminium, other of
sheet metal & thirdly cast iron. I am making forth type of top & bottom hub
which is a combination of aluminum heat sink and sheet metal/GIIGP. Its
working is much better than the three models currently present.
1. ITS COST IS LESS.
Raw material of one piece of aluminum top comes to 25 Rs. And new
one which I am making will cost Rs 170nly. The process cost of aluminum
top is Rs. 8 per piece and cost of my top will come to Rs . only. The total
cost of Aluminum top comes to Rs. 33 and cost of sheet metal top with heat
3

sink comes to Rs. 20 per piece, Thus saving of Rs.ll per piece on sheet metal
heat sink.
The total production of fan in the country is05 crores per year and ifRs. 11 is
saved on one piece then total saving will come to 65 crores per year.
2. POWER CONSUMPTION AT THE TIME OF MANUFACTURING
Aluminum top consumes one unit of electricity for production of one
piece whereas sheet metal heat sink consumes 0.1 unit per piece. Thus saving
of electricity for the country as well as for the industry. Calculating the total
saving on fan industry it will come to 9 crores units per year. Because
Aluminum top consumes one unit per piece thus consuming 10 crore units in
total production of aluminum sheet where as my new sheet metal heat sink
will consumes 1 crore units. Thus 9 crores units of electricity which is saved
during this process, can be utilized in other projects.
3. PRODUCTION FRIENDLY
During the process of manufacturing aluminum fan top it releases gases
which are harmful for the laborers. Whereas process of sheet metal heat sink
does not release any gas. Presently 20,000 (APPROX.) machines are working
to manufacture 05 crores of fan and five workers are required to work on
every machine. That means 150000 workers are engaged in this industry.
Thus this new product is health friendly for the labors working in this
industry. Saving them from the harmful gases and in the long process saving
of medicine and amount to be spent on the health issue.
4. LESS MANUFACTURING SET UP COST.
At this time we do not have the required machinery in India so we have
to import fans from other countries. A major portion of fan is being imported
from China. The main reason being the cost of pressure die casting machine is
very high. And because of the higher cost of machinery Indians are not going
to install machines and they go for easy way to import the fans thus
expending a heavy foreign exchange on import of fans. This concept will
save the foreign exchange also.
4
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRA\VING
It consists of 4 major parts namely Sheet Metal hub (Body), Blade and router
support bracket, Heat Sink plate (AI) and ;housing. Then the assembly take
place, all the drawings are attached herewith for the reference.
1. Drawing Name 001 shows the process of making body the main part of
the top bottom hub.
2. Drawing Name 002 shows blade and router. support bracket which
provides strength to Sheet Metal hub for supporting blades of Ceiling
fan.
3. Drawing Name 003 shows housing to centralize the bearing in the top
& bottom.
4. Drawing Name 004 shows Heat Sink which used in removing the heat
& efficiency loss.
5. Drawing Name 005 shows rivet which used to join the heat sink and
sheet metal body.
6. Drawing Name 006 shows assembly of heat sink and :;heet metal hub,
housing, and bracket.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROCESS WITH FIGURES
Production process includes inspection of
1. Aluminum Sheet, if the sheet is right for the production it wentJor the
Punching where we cut down Heat sink (in fig 1 & 2) land the
embossing of Heat sink (fig 2) take place. Then this piece will go to the
assembly line.
5
2. G.I/MS Sheet blanking of Top/bottom, after inspection if the sheet is
right for production then it will go for first draw (fig 3) then second
draw take place (fig 4).
3. G.I/MS Sheet blanking of Housing, after quality inspector says ok to
the sheet then it will go for draw of Housing (fig 10) and then this piece
and sheet metal main cover (drawing name 001) will go for projection
welding (fig no 5)and get welded joined.
4. Router/ Blade Support bracket (drawing name 002) after inspection
welded with sheet metal main cover (drawing no 001).(fig 6)
5. Then hole punching of Sheet metal main cover take place (fig 9) for
fitting of fan blades and for adjusting heat sink and shaft. After that
taping of part done.
6. Then the machining for centralising (fig 7) and rollerising (fig 8) for
making accurate size for bearing fitting.
7. Finally the embossed heat sink, sheet metal main cover after draws,
welding, machining and rollerising and rivet (inspection done on
quantity and quality wise) go to assembly line (fig 11,12,13&14) and
then Final part inspection is done.
8. And lastly it goes for packing.
