Intake Manifold With Integrated Charged Air Cooler

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and a system of internal combustion (IC) engine for cooling mechanism of the charged air. The said system (100) comprises a turbocharger (101); an intake manifold (103) connected with turbocharger (101) via hose connection (102); a charged air cooler (104) integrated with intake manifold (103) and connected with cylinder head (103); and an air duct (105) connected with the charged air cooler (104) to draw the air from atmosphere for cooling of compressed air in the charged air cooler (104) before entry of the air to cylinder head (106). The method for system comprises intake of fresh ambient air by turbocharger (101); compression of said air; transfer of compressed hot air from turbocharger (101) to inlet tank via hose connection (102); cooling of compressed hot air by charged air cooler (104) with the help of fresh ambient atmospheric air being drawn by the air duct (105) onto the charged air cooler (104); transfer of cooled air to cylinder head (106).
