Specification

DESC:[001] The present disclosure generally relates an integrated anti-theft alarming system for automotive battery & spare-wheel. Particularly, it relates to an audio-visual alarming system to driver in case of battery/spare-wheel theft initiation especially when vehicle is in parked or ignition off condition.
[002] It is very common problems or limitations about battery theft in the automobile sectors and it led to recurring additional burden on automobile owners as well as adverse impact on the functioning of the engine of the vehicle. This results into high level of dissatisfaction or irritation and fury to driver and vehicle owners. Additionally, the stolen batteries are sold in the market at very low price, which may additional incomparable pain caused to automobile owners as well as drivers.
[003] In the existing automobile, it is convenient and easy to steal the batteries or spare wheel from trucks, buses and car, due to easy accessibility, as it is located at the outer sphere of the vehicle, or it is not integrated to the internal part of the vehicle.
[004] As we are aware that one battery of 12V,150AH cost around INR 10, 000 to 12,000 thousand and one spare-wheel tyre of model 10R20 is cost approximate INR 25, 000. As most conventional trucks/buses operate on 24V system, hence two batteries are being used, which can indeed cost around INR 25,0000 to the vehicle owner in case of theft of the batteries. More-so, considering if both batteries & spare-wheel tyre get stolen; it would cost almost INR 50,000 to the vehicle owner in the care of a single vehicle and for bigger fleet owner’; this price loss may be exorbitantly high, which lead to huge financial and mental loss to vehicle owner in addition to physical excursion to arrange new set of batteries and spare-wheel tyre.
[005] Further, it would be a great challenge in the emergence of the electric vehicles, as this can be much bigger pain to vehicle owner in case of theft of batteries. Hence it is a great challenge for automobile communities to bring cost effective and affordable solution to global problems in the automobile sector. Therefore, many cases of theft are being reported on daily basis not only in India but world.

[006] Further there is a need of a solutions as listed below –
No irritation/fury to driver
No damage/loss to vehicle by theft attempt
Available audio-visual alarm prompt at initiation of theft attempt
No investment demand due to theft of battery/spare-wheel
No need of vigilance as driver can relax freely & have sound sleep while on long tour
Also gives indication of battery loose terminal which can lead to fire hazard and
No loss of business/trips which can happen due to theft.
[007] The present subject matter solved the aforementioned and other problems by providing audio-visual alarming system to driver in case of battery/spare-wheel theft initiation especially when vehicle is in parked or ignition off condition.
[008] The present system comprising an audio-visual alarming system to detect of theft of battery and spare-wheel in an automobile system even-if vehicle is in parked or ignition off condition mode comprising an electronic control unit (ECU) and an audio-visual alarm a combination thereof.
[009] In another embodiment, the present subject matter further comprising an electronic control unit (ECU) and an audio-visual alarm. The electronic control unit (ECU) is having internal battery to ensure requisite function for alarm even if main battery connections are broken. The electronic control unit is configured to engage with audio-visual alarm system through battery connection. Therefore, the audio-visual alarm is the key feature of the system to give real-time notification to driver/vehicle owner on battery/spare-wheel theft.
[0010] The present system comprising an electronic control unit comprises an internal battery (ECU); an audio-visual alarming system for indicating alarm at the time of theft of batteries and/or spare-wheal tyre of the vehicle; an interconnecting wiring harness system; and a plunger switch and mounting bracket of the plunger.
[0011] The electronic control unit (ECU) is mounted inside the cabin of the vehicle to safeguard from outside accessibility or external factors. It has a LED indicator to depict charging status configured to engage with a battery and a spare-wheal tyre system through a connector to show all functions are working correctly and perfectly.
[0012] The electronic control unit (ECU) is also engaged with push button to disable alarm during maintenance activities. Here the battery positive terminal connection & spare-wheel connection via plunger switch is taken as input to electronic control unit (ECU) for function checking & alarm usage.
[0013] The audio-visual alarm gets actuated in case of any theft attempt on battery or spare wheel. The audio-visual lamp (alarm) is connected to electronic control unit (ECU) and mounted on cabin top to keep out of reach of others with camouflaged connection in wiring harness.
[0014] The system will actuate alarm in case of battery theft; whenever anyone opens positive battery cable connection without notice of driver at vehicle parked condition/ignition off.
[0015] Further, the system will actuate alarm in case of spare-wheel theft; whenever anyone tries to lower spare-wheel from STC without prior notice to driver, via a plunger switch, at vehicle parked condition/ignition off.
[0016] Here the electronic control unit (ECU) is also packaged with CAN connection to provide remote signal to vehicle owner and/or configured server so that prompt action can be taken if driver is not available nearby vehicle.
[0017] The advantages of present system are that it provides a cost-effective user-friendly indigenous technology in-house designed & developed real-time audio-visual alarm for battery and or spare-wheel theft. Further the deactivation knob for alarm to perform maintenance activity. Therefore, it provides a real-time notification on CAN signal to customer or remote server via vehicle telematics.
[0018] This system can be used in complete automobile industry comprise trucks/buses/cars/2or3-wheelers and also it has bigger impact in upcoming electric vehicle where bigger, heavier & costly battery packs are being used.
