Detailed description of the invention
The above mentioned objects of the present invention are accomplished and the problems and shortcomings associated with the prior art/techniques and approaches are overcome by the present invention as described below.
The present invention is now illustrated with reference and accompanied drawings, throughout which reference numbers indicate corresponding parts in the various figures. These reference numbers are shown in bracket.
Referring now to figure 1-6, there is shown an integrated ceiling system (100) (hereinafter the system (100)), in accordance with the present invention. The consists of a pelmet unit, a dirTuser unit, an extension component and a plurality of connection means connecting the pelmet unit, the diffuser unit and the extension component.
The present invention provides a two sided pelmet box in one aspect of the present invention and a three sided pelmet box in accordance with another aspect
of the present invention. The pelmet can be horizontally connected to diffuser near the suspension ceiling side using a new connection detail, for example a hook to an inverted hook (6) on the pelmet and the diffuser respectively with a short arm and inverted short arm (7) on the diffuser and the pelmet respectively. Similarly, the vertically extension component is connected to the pelmet using the new connection detail of hook and arms. Further, a diffuser or an extension component is connected to the Suspended ceiling by accessory called T-bar jointer.
The pelmet is connected horizontally with the suspended ceiling by diffuser (5a) or vertically with an extension component (5b). In an embodiment, the connection of the pelmet to the ceiling is done by hook (6) and a short arm (7) present on the pelmet and diffuser/ extension component.
Referring to figure K there is shown an integrated ceiling system (100) with three
side pelmet (100), in one aspect of the present invention. The system (100)
comprises a three sided pelmet (la), a diffuser unit (5a) and a gypsum board
ceiling transition to acoustical ceiling using a clip (13). In an embodiment, the
three sided'pelmet (la) is attached to the diffuser unit (5a) by a snap fit
arrangement of hook and inverted hook (6) with a short and a inverted short arm
(7) present in both the three sided pelmet (la) and the diffuser unit (5a). However,
it may be evident to those skilled in the art to use any other connecting means for
the three sided pelmet (la) and the diffuser unit (5a)known in art.
Further a central bead (8) present on the diffuser unit (5a), is used as a short arm for clamping a C- Channel (9) along with a long arm with hook (6) on a side suspended ceiling. Similar to the C- Channel (9), a C-Channel (2) is used for
hanging the three sided pelmet (1a) using a self tapping screw (4). A curtain (2) is fixed to three sided pelmet (la) using a self tapping screw (4). The three sided pelmet (la) connects horizontally with the diffuser (5a) by hook to inverted hook (6) and short arm to short arm (7). The details of the connection are shown in the figure 3. The connection between the diffuser (5a) and a gypsum T-bar (11) is by using a T-grid connector (10) into the groove (6) in the diffuser (5a). The Gypsum board transition clip (13) inserts into a gypsum board (12) for connection with painted grid (14).
Referring now to figure 2, there is shown an integrated ceiling with two sided pelmet system (200), in another aspect of the present invention. The system comprises a two sided pelmet (1 b), a diffuser unit (5a) and a gypsum board ceiling transition to acoustical ceiling using a clip (13). The two sided pelmet (lb) is attached to the diffuser unit (5a) by a snap fit arrangement of hook and inverted hook (6) with a short and a inverted short arm (7) present in both the two sided pelmet (I b) and a diffuser unit (5a). A central bead (8) is on the diffuser unit (5a) is used as a short arm for a clamping C- Channel (9) along with a long arm with hook(6) on the side suspended, ceiling. Similar to the C- Channel (9), the C-Channel (2) is used for hanging the two sided pelmet (la) using self tapping screw (4). The curtain (2) is fixed to the two sided pelmet (lb) using self tapping screw (4). The two sided pelmet (la) connects horizontally with diffuser (5a) by hook to inverted hook (6) and short arm to short arm (7). The details of the connection are shown in the figure 3. The connect between diffuser (5a) and gypsum T-bar (11) using T-grid connector (10) into the groove (6) in the diffuser (5a). The Gypsum board transition clip (13) inserts into the Gypsum board (12) for connection with painted grid (14)
Referring to figure 4, an utility model is shown to be built around the three sided pelmet (la) and connected to the extension component (5b) to provide for larger plenum height. The three sided pelmet (la), the hook (6) and the short arm (7) are connected to the vertical extension component (5b) with an inverted and opposite hook (6) and the short arm (7) on the extension component (5b). The three sided pelmet (la) is hanged using the C-Channel (2) fixed to same using a screw (4). The curtain (2) is fixed to the three sided pelmet (la) using a screw (4). The three sided pelmet (la) connects with extension component (5b) using the hook (6) and short arm (7) snapping into each other.
The vertical extension component (5b) connects with the acoustical ceiling or drywall ceiling system (15) using the T- bar connector (10) in the two wing track at bottom of extension component (5b). In an embodiment, the three sided pelmet (la) shown in the figure 4 can also be replaced with two sided pelmet (lb).
Referring to figure 6, there is shown the two sided pelmet (lb) connecting with the gypsum board ceiling (15) using the T-grid connector (10) grubbing into the inverted hook (6) in the bottom of pelmet (lb). The two sided pelmet (lb) can be replaced by a 3 sided pelmet and the gypsum board ceiling system (15) can be replaced with a painted grid system. As in above cases, the two sided pelmet is hanged using a C-channel (3) using self tapping screw (4) and the curtain (2) is also fixed using self tapping screw (4).
In an embodiment, the connection method for the above component with the suspended ceiling may be changed according to requirement of the user. As shown in figure 3, the three sided pelmet and two sided pelmet (la/lb) is connected to the diffuser (5a) using hook (6) and short arm (7). Similarly, the
figure 5 shows the three sided pelmet and two sided pelmet (la/lb) connecting to extension component (5b) using hook (6) and short arm (7). As shown in figure 7. the three sided pelmet (la) open end is covered using a specially pre-engineered crafted cover (16). Specifically, the cover plate is fixed to the three sided pelmet and two sided pelmet (la/lb) using the screw.
Advantages of the invention
