Abstract: The invention provides a method and an integrated device for the measurement of skin parameters including pigmentation, redness, moisture content, sebum content and for evaluating the efficacy of SPF creams; the device may include a probe with a detachable adaptor. The device may include combinations of visible photography and near-infrared spectroscopy for measurement of the said parameters. The efficacy of SPF creams may be measured in the said integrated device by application of different thicknesses of the cream on a slide and measuring the transmission of UV light. The measurements are performed in vivo in human subjects in non-invasive conditions.
