Integrated Main Gear Box And Upper Control System For Advanced Helicopters
Abstract: In conventional Helicopters, upper control system is separately positioned over the . main gear box assembly to transfer the control input to the main _rotor blade. In this arrangement, upper control systems are not protected from environmental effects and small arm fire. To protect the upper control system from such threats, main gearbox is made to accommodate upper control system inside the gearbox and this assembly become one. unit for assembly and also this assembly supports all · accessories like Alternator drive, Hydraulic drive, lube oil pump for its own lubrication ·purpose. It is called Integrated Dynamic System (IDS) where in main gearbox, upper control system, rotor hub and actuator are assembled as a single unit.
