DESC:TECHNICAL FIELD
[001] The embodiments herein relate toan integrated trim and inner weather strip for a door of a vehicle. Further, embodiments herein relate to a mounting arrangement for mounting an outer weather strip to the door of the vehicle.
BACKGROUND
[002] In vehicles, a door trim (T) and an inner weather-strip(IW, as shown in fig. 1) are two separate components which are assembled onto an inner door panel (D) of a vehicle side door, so there is always variation which in turn leads to rattling of glass (G) during opening and closing of glass (G) in the vehicle side door. Different weather-strip sections has been used in different vehicles for elimination of the variation. Conventional solutions eliminate the variation by fixing the weather strip with the trim but again assembling components leads to variation.Further, the inner door panel (D) of the side door is provided in direct contact with the inner weather strip (IW) to hold the door. But, the inner door panel (D) slightly moves during movement of the vehicle which in turn is undesirable due to the inner weather strip which is made of soft material. Outer weather-strips (WS, as shown in fig. 2) mounted onto vehicle side door needs to have better interface with glass (G) and the outer door panel (DS)as this interface will be protecting the cabin from water intrusion, air intrusion, and noise entry, dust intrusion, prevent from glass rattling and easy sliding of glass (G). Usually, outer weather strips (WS) are fixed to the outer door panel (DS) of the side door by using a self-tapping screw (S, as shown in fig. 2). Holes are provided in the outer door panel (DS) to receive the screw (S). Fixing the screw (S, as shown in fig. 2) to the outer door panel (DS) would lead to pealing of paint from the outer door panel (DS) and results in rusting. In some vehicles, the outer weather strips are fixed to the outer door panel of the side door by using end clips. Slots are provided in the outer door panel to fix the end clips to the outer door panel which in turn would leadto rusting of the outer door panel.
[003] Therefore, there existsa need for an integrated trim and inner weather strip for a door of a vehicle, which obviates the aforementioned drawbacks. Further, there exists a need for a mounting arrangement for fixing outer weather strip onto a door of a vehicle, which obviates the aforementioned drawbacks.
