Intelligent Accident Detection System

Abstract: A large number of precious lives are lost due to road accidents every day. The common reasons are over speed and untimely communication with emergency services. There is a need to have an effective road accident detection and information communication system in place to save persons. A system that sends information messages to the emergency service for timely response is absolutely in need. This invention relates to that of a device,system and method on avoiding the accidents and to assist the injured persons after the accident. The device and method, system uses Internet of Things for peforming various tasks such as monitoring, sensing of vibrations of the vehicles involved in accidents and providing alert prompts to people related tothose involved in accidents and also alerting emergency services such as ambulance etc to provide relief and succour for the people involved in the accident / mishap to get timely attention, treatment.

Specification

Claims:1) A device for identifying, monitoring and managing of an Accident / mishap situation, on roads,
comprising of modules of vibration sensing, wherein vibration of the collision occurring during accidents using the vibration sensor (SW420);
a module which can classify system classifies the accident (MINOR, MEDIUM, MAJOR) based on the vibration level ;
a system that can continuously sense the speed using the accelerometer sensor (ADXL345) and alert the parents/guardians/friends by sending an alert message ;
a system that can send the location information ( obtained from GPS module), (Geographical Co ordinates) with the type of accident along with the vehicle type, model, seating capacity to the Emergency services using the GSM module.
2) The said device as claimed in claim 1 for Accident / disaster manangement on roads utilizes, Internet Of Things, (IOT) , wherein a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers (UIDs) and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction
3) The said device for Accident management on roads, wherein is incorporated with a system that consists of two sensors of which one senses the speed and the other senses the vibration of the impact. The Acceleration sensor monitors the speed of the vehicle continuously. If the speed exceed the limit (over speed), the system immediately fetch the location of driver with the help of GPS and sends an alert message to their parents/guardians/friends using the GSM module. The Vibration sensor monitors the vibration produced in the vehicle
4) A method for monitoring, identifying and managing of accidents involving automobiles on Roads, the said method comprising of
Vibration sensing.

Wherein it comprises of system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers (UIDs) and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction and utilizing IOT (Internet Of Things) all the physical objects (things) are connected together using internet infrastructure. Arduino board is one of the most important objects in this ecosystem. Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software.

The processing modules for the invention are depicted as the system architecture diagram that describes the workflow between various components of the application.

Drawing Summary:

The system consists of two sensors of which one senses the speed and the other senses the vibration of the impact. The Acceleration sensor monitors the speed of the vehicle continuously. If the speed exceed the limit (over speed), the system immediately fetch the location of driver with the help of GPS and sends an alert message to their parents/guardians/friends using the GSM module. The Vibration sensor monitors the vibration produced in the vehicle. If an accident occurs, the vibration produced in the vehicle must be higher than the usual vibration. Based on the vibration, the system classifies the accident as (minor, medium, major) and sends the same to the parents/guardians/friends and emergency services along with the seating capacity of the vehicle, model using the GPRS module.

Detailed Description of the Invention:

Domain Description:
The internet of things, or IOT, is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers (UIDs) and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction .In IOT , all the physical objects (things) are connected together using internet infrastructure. Arduino board is one of the most important objects in this ecosystem. Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software.

Proposed Work
The Intelligent Accident Assistant System assists us during accident times.
The system continuously senses the speed using the accelerometer sensor (ADXL345) and alert the parents/guardians/friends by sending an alert message.
The system detects the vibration of the collision occurring during accidents using the vibration sensor (SW420).
The system classifies the accident (MINOR, MEDIUM, MAJOR) based on the vibration level.
After classifying the accident, the system sends the location information ( obtained from GPS module), type of accident along with the vehicle type, model, seating capacity to the Emergency services using the GSM module.
