TITLE
INTELLIGENT BRAKE BLEEDING MACHINE

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates to mechanical engineering, specifically automobile engineering and relates to hydraulic brake and clutch circuit systems. This invention more specifically relates to an intelligent brake bleeding machine that can detect the air bubbles to understand the air bleeding completion of the hydraulic brake and clutch circuits of automobile or like vehicles.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

As is well known, air bubbles frequently are trapped in the fluid lines and cylinders of a hydraulic brake system whenever the brake fluid is drained or replaced. Such trapped air must be removed to insure safe and effective braking operation. When working on hydraulic brakes of a conventional vehicle, it is necessary to bleed hydraulic fluid from the brake lines leading from the master cylinder to the wheel cylinders in order to get all of the air out of the brake lines. Entrapped air and foreign contaminants could impede the performance of hydraulic systems, particularly, the hydraulic brake systems of motor vehicles.

All the hydraulic brake & clutch actuation system of automobile works with Pascal law. So these hydraulic system must be air free. This is necessary because, while the brake fluid is an incompressible liquid, air bubbles are compressible gas and their presence in the brake system greatly reduces the hydraulic pressure that can be developed within the system. During brake fluid replacement or the hydraulic brake component repair/ replacement, atmospheric air ingress into the hydraulic circuit. Air bleeding must be done to make the hydraulic circuit air free.

Many methods and systems have been created for bleeding air entrapped in automotive hydraulic brake systems, ranging from gravity bleeding, one or two person systems using brake pedal or hand-operated vacuum pumps to create pressure and suction, to replacing standard bleeder valves with check valves. With air in one or more of the brake lines, considerable effort is spent first in compressing the air before any movement of the braking components occurs. This causes the brake pedal to be spongy, i.e. the pedal goes part way down without noticeable effect because air in the hydraulic line is being compressed.

The standard technique for bleeding brake lines is to attach a hose to the bleed fitting of the wheel cylinder. One person gets inside the vehicle to work the brake pedal and a second person gets under the car to open and close the bleed fitting, which is a valved connection. The person under the car opens the bleed fitting valve and yells to the person in the car to depress the brake pedal. The second person puts the end of the hose in a container and watches the hose end. When fluid quits exiting from the hose end, the second person closes the bleed fitting and yells to the first person to release the brake pedal. If air and brake fluid were seen by the second person exiting from the hose, the process is repeated. The remaining brake lines are bled if the other wheel cylinders have been worked on or other brake lines are thought to have air in them.

It is recommended by vehicle manufacturers that the brake fluid be periodically flushed from the system. This is done by pumping the old brake fluid from the master cylinder adding new brake fluid to the master cylinder. The old brake fluid is easily detectable because it is dark while new brake fluid is clear. Thus, brake fluid emitting from the hose end is easily determined to be old or new.

The standard technique requires two people--one to depress and release the brake pedal on command and one to handle the hose, open and close the bleed fitting, tell the first person when to depress the brake pedal and also to see if any bubbles are coming out of the hose end. It has long been recognized as desirable to provide a tool allowing one person to bleed the brake lines. Typical tools allowing one person to bleed a brake line include a fitting for connection to the bleed fitting on the wheel cylinder and a check valve allowing brake fluid to pass out of the wheel cylinder in response to depression of the brake pedal and preventing back flow toward the wheel cylinder when the brake pedal is released.

Some of the prior art in this field reveal various improvements made over the years in the art, specifically in bleeding techniques.

US Patent Application No: US20120161420 discloses a master device for a closed hydraulic system of handlebar-steered vehicles includes a basic body and a pressure chamber in which, in the event of actuation of the master device in order to actuate a slave device, hydraulic fluid is placed under pressure. The master device includes a hydraulic line connecting element having a connecting piece for connecting a hydraulic line and a thread section for screwing into the basic body. An air bleed opening bleeds the hydraulic system. The hydraulic line connecting element and the basic body form a valve that closes the connection between the pressure chamber and the air bleed opening when the hydraulic line connecting element is fully screwed in to the basic body.

United States Patent 9243652 claims a de-aeration hydraulic circuit having application in a hydromechanical transmissions utilizes a hydraulic fluid reservoir to de-aerate hydraulic fluid. The circuit includes a high pressure side and a low pressure side having a bleed down valve therebetween, the opening of the bleed down valve causing fluid to flow from the high pressure side to the low pressure side and through a valve to the hydraulic fluid reservoir where the pressure drop causes gas that is entrained in the fluid to bubble out and vent from the atmospheric reservoir.

United States Patent 9897199 discloses a fitting clearance of a relief valve that functions as an air bleeding orifice. When a discharge pressure reaches a relief pressure so that the relief valve turns into a relief state, a spool is moved so as to limit flow-out of hydraulic oil through the fitting clearance. As a result, generation of air trapping is suppressed by air bleeding function of the relief valve in a closed state. Air in a discharge oil passage is discharged quickly in the initial period of the startup of an electric oil pump, thereby improving rise-up of discharge pressure. During normal pump operation in which the relief valve is held in a relief state, pressure loss due to flow out of the hydraulic oil from the fitting clearance is suppressed and consequently, an electric oil pump having substantially the same discharge performance as conventionally can be used.

United States Patent Application 20070163849 claims a hydraulic vehicle brake equipped with a parking brake device, in particular for motor vehicles, includes a brake housing in which at least two hydraulic pressure chambers are provided, with a working pressure chamber that is delimited by a brake piston, and a lockable accumulator pressure chamber. A dual bleeder (2) is provided for simultaneously bleeding the two pressure chambers (7, 9). To this end, the dual bleeder (2) includes two elements, a bleeder sleeve (30) and a bleeder screw (31). The bleeder sleeve (30) cooperates with a first sealing seat (35), with the result that a hydraulic connection (29) between the two pressure chambers (7, 9) can be separated, while the bleeder screw (31) cooperates with a second sealing seat (36), with the result that at least one of the two pressure chambers (7, 9) can be connected to the atmosphere.
