Intelligent Shopping Cart

Abstract: The Internet of Things based Intelligent Shopping Cart is proposed as a solution to this problem of long billing queues which actually uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) sensors, Arduino like regulator, Bluetooth module and Mobile application for the easy payment of bills. The two portions RFID tag and RFID reader per user where tags are storage centers for the information of the product being purchased. The important components like GSM module and Zigbee technology will be doing their job of calculating the bills and the output is shown on the LCD display attached with the project kit. The proposed frame work can undoubtedly be useful in further improving the lives of people by saving their valuable time. 4 Claims & 1 Figure

Specification

Description:Field of Invention
The present invention is a centralized automated billing system helps the customers and retailers at the shopping malls to have a quick shopping without waiting in the long queues at the billing section.
The Objectives of this Invention
The purpose of this invention intelligent shopping cart consists of RFID technology and ZigBee module. The RFID tags are installed with the products in the malls, which will be scanned by the RFID reader and displays the information on the LCD screen and using the ZigBee module and GSM we provide the communication between the customer and retailer in details about the bill.
Background of the Invention
The current methodology of billing the products is done through bar code scanning when the information regarding the product is stored inside a barcode and the information is read through optical scanner. However, this barcode technology doesn’t provide the feasibility of fast billing as each and every item placed in the shopping cart needed to be scanned in order to get the total bill. Moreover, the customer doesn’t have any clue regarding the total amount unless they go to the payment section. In case the customers want to add or remove an item becomes difficult as they cannot predict the total cost at a beforehand and that makes the customer to buy less goods also keeping the budget in mind. The barcode technology also doesn’t keep any record of the inflow and outflow of the goods which needed to be managed physically by the markets in the form of records and update the information from time to time so that the goods are available all the time.
In (CN2018/107767129B), the present invention provides a smart shopping trolley that includes an abdomen and a laundry basket assembled in the skin, in which the shopping trolley has a stopper that can curve toward certain the inside of the shopping trolley to establish a primary commodities inlet; a first weighted unit for subtracting the weight of the good or service on the lid; a repayment unit that produces settling details for the commodity predicated on the name and department price of a commodity; and a second trying to weigh unit for determining the weight of a good or service on the shield. Another invention (US2021/0279721A1), obtaining a request to add a captured card to a payment system by trying to interpret an insightful code that instructs a user to a URL for an integrated payment website, triggering a user for qualifications to join the integrated payment website, deciding whether the deposited card by now remains in the digital wallet, and trying to add the deposited card to the digital wallet are all examples of methods.
Summary of the Invention
The proposed invention is to replace the standard billing system of long queues in the malls with the intelligent cart which has the in-build process of scanning the products and bill payment using the cards or online payment directly as no need to wait until waiting for their turn at the billing section.

Detailed Description of the Invention
There are two parts to the suggested model framework. The first and most important task is to complete all of the microcontroller's configuration, including the RFID reader and ZigBee module. The next step is to label all of the products with RFID tags that include all of the product's information, and then transport the data from the RFID tag to the billing system via the Zigbee and a broadband network via the Wi-Fi module. When a consumer picks up the smart trolley and begins loading things into it, this frameworks application kicks in. Every smart trolley is equipped with an RFID reader, a GSM module, a ZigBee module, a microprocessor, and an LCD screen for visual merchandising. When the consumer begins placing products with RFID tags, the RFID reader will scan the commodities, and the results would be sent to the microcontroller, where it will be shown on the Display screen. Whenever a customer wishes to remove products from the trolley associated with this framework, the product will be removed from the billing list, and the total invoice amount will be instantaneously whittled down once the consumer eliminates the placed commodity from the smart trolley via the micro-controller utilizing Zigbee protocol.

The trolley is framed as the products only placed inside the trolley will be added to the list not the other product that are outside the trolley as we are using the most secured reader technology that is RFID tags and the RFID reader. RFID is known as Radio-Frequency Identification. It is defined as a technology that is used to where the digital information is encoded inside RFID tags and the information is again decoded by the RFID Reader by using radio frequency waves that will be captured by the RFID reader. RFID technology is something similar to bar-coding where the information is stored inside the barcode

Shop management fix the product to the trolleys and adds the mobile application after that when user wants to buy some products, he directly uses the smart trolley by picking up the product and scanning the products and he can also make the payments using the smart trolley directly, because of this module we can reduces the queue in stores. The RFID card is inserted into the each and every item then the customer can scan the item that means he/she indirectly scans the RFID card that inserted in the product, after that the information related to the that card will be transfer directly to the micro-controller and it process the data as per our coding then micro-controller will update the data automatically in the cloud using IOT technology
